101 Ways My Son Entertained Himself at WDW--The Last Day--New 11/18

HSM, sorry to hear about your trip back to reality. At least you have your happy place report help you. You have our prayers and thoughts. Still tring to catch up, looking forward to your updates.

Awwww, poor kids:grouphug: and poor mommy too:hug: Hope this didn't effect this kids for the rest of the trip.
EDITED to SAY: I WAS FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They were fine for the most part, but B reminded me often that I promised she didn't have to go on anymore scary rides. :sad2: Yeah! Janet was first!

HSM, I'm sorry - what a rough home-coming you've had. ]
Thanks!

Me too! I'd book POR every time I need a mod if only I could be assured of an AB room.]
I thought they were nice.
NO, not one of them?? :scared: ]
I know. I was not a happy camper. :headache:

Oh no! How did they do afterward? :grouphug:
See answer above...

Great update. Sorry it was so frightening.:scared1:
Just consider it a lesson on fear.:teacher:
You're a good home school teacher. You'll figure something out.:thumbsup2
I schooled myself that day! :teacher:

It's too bad you have wimpy kids. Joking. So far I am totally lucky that my kids have liked everything fast and "scary". But I know what you were going through at least whilst you waited in line. I remember taking Evan, then Alec, on their first times on ToT ... but I have to admit that the most scared I was in line was for RnRC with Alec. He has been known to have a bad tummy and I prayed the whole time he wouldn't "blow"!
Yikes! I shouldn't have read that while I'm eating breakfast, huh?

I felt so bad for you all reading about your ToT experience. I used to be a ride chicken and there was no way I would have ever even gone near that ride so I admire you all for attempting it.
It's scary, but at least you're an adult and you can decide. My poor kids... :sad1:

Oh Dawn that sounded terrible, what a horrifying first ride  I hope they were all OK afterwards
Yeah, it wasn't a good start to the trip. It gets worse before it gets better, too. :headache:

Great update HSM! Did you wait the full hour in line? What did the kids say after they got off from it? I was spooked silly my first time in 2005! never again!! 2006 I sent Steve on with Sam. 2007 I decided to try it again,,and we went 2x in a row!!! I couldve done more!!
As far as I remember, it was the full hour... :sad2: The kids were MAD when they got off. When the ride stopped they said, "We never want to go on this again!"

This year (Sept 07) Ben 9 said he was going to do Exp Everest..we get there, and he chickend out! But I knew, knew, knew! he would LOVE it once he got on and didnt want him to miss the experience,,so I was THAT Mom chasing (yes, literally) him around outside EE!!! I was getting some hairy eyeballs that day!!! got him in line with us,,with a bribe! And He LOVED it!!!! still talks about it,,and cant wait to do it again!! so you never know,,,,,
:lmao: That's too funny.

Now I feel like more of a wuss cause if your little ones can get on I should be able to to! Oh well. I'm going to be peer pressured into it this trip because I'm going with a bunch of thrill ride people, me I's prefer a tower of fluffiness. :confused3
Nothing like peer pressure. You can call it Tower of Fluffiness if it makes you feel better!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: You should frame that rednecked photo!:
It's pretty funny!

ToT can be pretty scary. My kids wont ride it anymore. :confused3 :
At least it's not just my kids. They tell everyone who asks about the trip that they hated the Tower of Terror. :sad2:

I'm pretty sure Pizza Planet has just one star next to it in the Unofficial Guide. :sad2::
I didn't care. We went for the atmosphere. I knew A would like it because Toy Story is one of his favorites. :thumbsup2

Shoulda gone to Rosies!
This wasn't the day I was asking about a CS for DHS (Disney Hollywood Studios). We may or may not have gone on another day. You'll have to see, I guess.

Ahem! Time to update your thread title again ...
::yes:: wut she said.
Done! We were really into school yesterday and I forgot. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks! wuz unsure bout these. :confused3
I thought it was really fun. The pizza was pretty good, I think. The salad was a waste, but I would go there again.

Whew! I just finished all 55 pages, can't wait to hear how the kids were after TOT!
Wow! You should get a prize! Thanks for reading and WELCOME! :cheer2:

Poor kiddies.
::yes:: I felt so bad. :guilty: They haven't let me forget it, either.

Oh no Dawn, I'm so sorry you guys didn't enjoy ToT. I hope the day got better.
If you count chilling with drinks and shopping, then I guess it did get better! :thumbsup2

HSM, sorry to hear about your trip back to reality. At least you have your happy place report help you. You have our prayers and thoughts. Still tring to catch up, looking forward to your updates.
Thanks! I didn't think I would enjoy reminiscing over the trip, but I really am. Thanks for reading! :cheer2:

Yesterday was busy! We have chemistry and scouts on Tuesdays. Not to mention we went to lunch at Grandma's. Then Papa L showed up, so it was an extended visit. (of course the kids mentioned how we made them go on TOT! :sad2: )
I also took A to sign him up for t-ball. It'll be his first season. My poor guy has grown up in the dance studio waiting room. It'll be fun to do something for him.
We stopped for ice cream to celebrate and by the time we got home, A was complaining that his ear hurt and he couldn't hear. After he ate, he dissolved into tears and screaming. We tried giving him Advil, then I found some ear drops from his last ear infection that numb the ear. He was really freaking and I got upset. I hate to see him suffer. I packed him, a blanket and his teddy bear inthe car to go to Urgent Care. I guess on the drive the meds kicked in and he stopped screaming and said he was going to sleep. So I asked if he'd like to sleep in his bed and he did. So, I took him home. I just saved $200 and 40%, thank goodness!
I called this morning and the doctor's office doesn't open until 10 because they are having training. WTH? My baby needs to be seen. Can't they train after hours? So, I'm waiting to call at 9:45 when thy begin taking calls again. Luckily, he's not freaking out again this morning. I have him on Advil and the drops again, so I guess that's helping. Poor baby. :guilty:
I'll report back after the appointment.

Ouch,,,The poor thing! I hope hes feeling better by now,,,
I thought the same thing when I was reading that you were taking him to Urgent Care! Too much $ ! luckily he wanted to go back home,,

Ouch! Hope his ear is better soon!

and I just realized I missed the update.......after complaining about the lack of it... so I'll BRB after cheerleading to catch up!

And tell him.......I feel like I've also grown old in the dance/cheer/gymnastics waiting rooms!

Oh Dawn hope A's ear gets better really soon
Thanks! We just got home from the Dr. He has an ear infection in his right ear. We're going to dance and to pick up his meds now.

K thought I was being a big baby, but he was flipping out. I'm glad he's calmed down.

It'll be better soon. He's driving me bananas. He's been a fart today. He's due a big spanking! (Yeah, right- Mama's baby charms me out of those most of the time! :sad2: )

Yeah, go read it, MISSY!!!! :surfweb:

I know what you mean about dance, etc. We are there 3 hours a week now. It was 4 hours before the break. I dropped B's jazz class. B's first competition is next Friday. Her solo is on Friday, then we wait all day Saturday to announce how the girls did. Ho hum. No, I DO enjoy watching the teams, etc. :dance3:

We're off again to dance!!! :sad2:

Wow, you've had a rough past week. So sorry to hear of your friends loss and illness. Kinda puts things in perspective. :grouphug:

Thanks for the great installment! I think you've convinced me not to take my little ones on ToT. :lmao:

But remember my kids LOVED it! Evan just turned 4 when he rode it for the first time. We got his reaction (at least for a few seconds) on video and he had a huge smile on his face!

LOL, I had to snicker at the Tower of Fluffiness. My DD can't wait to go on this (she is a thrill rider like me) and my oldest DS is on the fence. I really would like all them to at least try it, then talk DH into trying it too cause he is NOT a thrill rider.

True. It does make us think. k's doing a side job tonight and he's usually so sleepy when he's done. I've been really nervous about him doing one since Jenny's husband died. :sad1: He swears he'll be safe, so that's all I can ask, really.

With the TOT, I would just go with your kids' opinion. My kids weren't happy we took them on it in the first place. :rolleyes1

What she said... It depends on your kids, really.

Good luck with whatever you do. It's completely different for each person. Your family may love it. :3dglasses
Thanks for reading, BTW! :yay:

Sorry- I don't seem to have any pictures for this installment... :confused3

In the Tower of Terror shop, B and I thought it was appropriate that B get a TOT shirt as a reward for living through the ride. The shirt is really cute. It has open elevator doors with a broken cable hanging down and Mickey looking into the elevator shaft. On the back it reads, “I suggest you take the stairs.” :lmao:
I felt so bad for everyone being scared and I promised they didn’t have to go on another ride that was scary to them the whole trip. Then bought them unicorn horn lollipops. If they would have asked for a new puppy, I would have agreed, I felt so bad. I also bought a pressed penny book before we left.

We went to check out Fantasmic, which was standing room only, but there was no way the kids would have been able to see, so we left. I was cranky and the kids were so tired from traveling. I think K was cranky with me for wandering around and not wanting to stay for the show. I was in a bad mood after waiting so long for a ride that no one (Not counting K) enjoyed and not being able to get a decent seat for Fantasmic. I suggested we go back to POR to chill.

K’s key to the world and B’s card were messed up, so K had to ask the desk to give him charging privileges, not our tweenager who loves to shop. While he fixed the cards, I got the kids a raspberry swirled pina colada smoothie, K a Bud Light, and got a Cosmo for me :yay: at the River Roost. ($20!) After chilling for a bit, we went into Fulton’s. I bought my MIL a whisk, and Mickey Mouse egg rings (She owns a restaurant) and A a golf ball. A also got a cool Pirates gun that had a skull and crossbones symbol projected when you pull the trigger.

We were beat, so we headed back to the room and watched a little America’s Funniest Home videos (a family favorite) and were in bed by 10. :happytv: I tried to watch a little more t.v., but the dumb thing kept turning off. I was too tired to fight with it, so I went to sleep.

I hope you were able to see it later on in the trip!

:rotfl2:

Sounds like a relaxing evening that you all needed.

Waiting for the next installment popcorn::

Then he said it again and pointed at A’s Texas Longhorns shirt. I looked at the CM’s tag and noticed he was from College Station, home of the Aggies.

That should have been your first tip to not get on the ride! We had to declare allegiance when we lived there (and I'm really a Hokie fan!)

I've never ridden ToT--Ab has several times and thinks the surroundings are really scary (scarier than the ride). I'm not fond of drops so I'll just keep to R&R this trip!

Good update, HS!

Ear infections are NO fun. Hope your son gets better soon.
T-shirt you bought from TOT sounds great.
Good thing your kids didn't ask for a puppy.:rotfl:
Rest was a good choice. Crankiness and WDW not a good mix.
Hope next day was better.popcorn::

I think it's a good thing you called it an "early" night, being in bed by 10 pm. I hope you all were refreshed for the next day! I am really looking forward to hearing what rides your kids thought may be scary now ... that is not a joke or anything. I really am interested now. Just wondering if you scarred them for life (now that is a joke :lmao: ).

They all three are very different in their riding preferences, that's for sure. I'll just say that the chicken door was used at least once... :rolleyes1
It'll be interesting to see how many years thay tell people I made them ride that ride. :sad2: They don't mention their dad, of course. :headache:

Thanks. He's not in pain anymore, although the doctor was surprised he's not still screaming. He asked if he had stuck something in his ear and he said no. I guess it's unusal, b/c only one side of the eardrum is infected. :confused3
I know... concerning the puppy: been there, done that, paid thousands of $ to get surgery for the dog. He's a sweetheart though. :lovestruc (If you haven't read that story, it's in this TR early on-like October)

I know, right? (That was my best tweenager voice- similar to valley girl-esque)

I think the atmosphere freaks B out because she gets what it's saying. I don't blame her, poor baby.

Are you trying to get me to reveal my TR details before it's time? Trickster! :lmao:

Yes, a drink by the fire and shopping, all this mama needs to enjoy herself! :woohoo:

I may do another this weekend, but generally, I think Monday and Thursday will be the days I have time to do updates. popcorn::

Awww, HSM I hope going back to the room and resting to be rejuvenated for the next day helps:hug:
