is there a significant difference in all prices for these ages? I will be traveling with my 9 year old this Chrstmas, and joining us will be my daughter's BFF (10 years old) and her mother. Does the 10 year pay more for park passes, dining, etc.? We will be booking one room to share, but realized that the price probably cant be split evenly down the middle because of the age difference for the girls!

Yes....unfortunately this difference between a 9 year old and a 10 year old is huge. Costs more for tickets and food at the buffet-type restaurants.

Ditto what the pp said. Everything is more for the 10 year old.

I wish the child price for park tickets was 18 & under, with a 3,13 & 17-year-old it gets $$$!

Tell me about it....I have a 16, 15, 13 and 13.....Not A Child Amongst Them!!

I have a hard time thinking of my DS12 as an ADULT!
I wish there was a "tween" price. I understand the 12-17 year olds eat more than a 4 year old but I hate the fact that they are that much more.

You are right the price goes up at age 10 :( The 10yo will pay more for the park ticket and at some meals, buffets, shows and all you can eat pre-plated type meals. However in my experience if your paying (not on a meal plan) they 10yo will have no trouble ordering a kids meal if they prefer. Even my 13yo ordered a few last trip and it was no secret she was over 10 :)

Why not purchase tickets separately, you for your family and her for hers? I use undercover tourist, great prices and great service. Then book your room as a room only, split the nightly rate and then pay for meals as you go.

FWIW, packages never make sense for our family so I would suggest you price it out separate and then in the package. With a AAA rate or a discount code on the room and a discount on tickets we always do better. We get some grocery items delivered from a delivery service to have breakfast in the room, snacks and water etc.

Seriously!

We don't do the meal plan (my kids, even the three-year-old, don't order off the kid's menu) but it would least be somewhat common courtesy to let "young adults" in a little cheaper. From nine to ten the price goes up SO much! They must just have ten has the cut-off age becuase they figure most kids can ride all of the attractions with height limits by then.
