10 Days in October: Argle-Bargle or Foofarah? UPDATED: POSTS #984 & 995!!!

subbing! you have me cracking up so far. :rotfl2: can't wait for more!

Thanks for reading! I think you and I talked a bit over on the restaurant boards about Epcot and alcohol. You have a trip coming up soon for your anniversary, too, don't you? Have a great time and I'll be looking for a report when you get back! :thumbsup2

Whooops! I gave you the wrong impression. My mom thought she was giving me a COMPLIMENT. :lmao:

I was about 7 and according to her scampering about in a cute manner similar to a small puppy. So she said I was a cute little mutt! I have informed her that I do NOT scamper:rolleyes: and that she has scarred me for life. This bit of blackmail er information comes in very handy when I am extorting her I mean begging for spare cash:rotfl2: . Mother guilt is oh so useful!:thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Well, that clears that up, then! ;) And you're right - mother guilt comes in very handy at the right times. :lmao:

love the updates! your wedding picture with your mom is adorable! i laughed out loud at your caption of john on EE " i'm getting to old for this crap!" hahahah :rotfl: and as for the short shorts.hahahha..if you wear short shorts..if you dare wear short shorts..well thanks for getting that song in my head!!:rolleyes1 lol

Thanks for reading, Gina! I'm sorry about the song...it was in my head too after I typed it in. And Jon...bless his heart...he wasn't going to say 'no" to any ride that Jay and I suggested. He's a good sport.

Oh Their "short shorts"?...i turned away because i thought I'd stumbled across the adult readers DISS by mistake....:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Actually in that picture they're more like "no-shorts." :lmao:

yes and i cannot wait!!!!!!!! it's been 15 years since i've been and even longer for ray (my DH). and yes, we did talk about alcohol and how good the slushies in france are! i've already started my TR (in my siggie), but there's not much on there so far.

Hopped over here to Falalalalalafofarah and I find nothing. C'mon Brenda, you know how impatient I can be.:yay:

Monday, October 23rd - Why Are You So Cranky? It's Only 9:15AM!!!

Along with our fabulous ride picture we had to purchase a cool pin from Expedition Everest, which we did not have the foresight to photograph. And quite frankly I'm too lazy to do it now, so take my word for it - it's really cool!

So now it's time to go on a safari...this is what Grimmie has been waiting for. So we wandered over to the holding pen for Kilamanjaro Safaris and found to our delight that the wait time was practically nil.

The rest of this segment is really pictorial in nature, since there isn't much for me to say about wild animals roaming around a pretend Africa in Florida. But first...you have to see this:

Can you find the missing family member?

When the four of us were seated in a single row on the safari jeep I asked Jay to try to take a self-portrait of all of us as further proof of how much enjoyment we were gleaning from each other's company.

See? This is fun! And you thought spending time together as a family was going to be stifling and dull.

The only problem is that someone opted to throw her head back behind mine because she didn't want her picture taken. When I look at this photo today I can almost hear Grimace saying, "I'm a torso!"

And now for the safari....oh, our humblest apologies for any blurries, by the way. It's hard sometimes even for Jason to take a clear picture on safari.

Those lions sure are lazy, just like our cat Handsome Pete:

Although in Pete's defense he's got a pretty good buzz going from that catnip cigar he's snorting.

So, what was the final verdict on the safari? Jay, Jon, and I gave it two thumbs up - lots of animals and it was a mild morning so the ride in an open vehicle was actually very pleasant. While Grimace was happy that she had a chance to see some wildlife, she didn't like the actual vehicle ride - it was too bumpy...too jostley...too hurdy-gurdy.

When Jay and I asked her how in the world the jeep ride through the African plains of Florida could resemble a stringed musical instrument she stuck her tongue out at us and refused to explain. As punishment I asked her to humor me with a mother / daughter vacation picture.

We call this: I am not amused.

Coming soon..the rest of our morning at AK, followed by all kinds of better, more alcoholic, friendlier, Plankton-y happenings!

Oh, my gosh, you stole my cat! Your Pete looks just like our Morris!

Don't you just love orange tabby cats? They are the loviest, most friendly cats I've ever come across.

Thanks for reading, and I swear, no cats were transferred across state lines! ;)

LOL! Did she really use "hurdy-gurdy" to describe the safari vehicles?

:rotfl2:

Gosh, that's funny. I see the giraffe managed to show you its best side.
I have issues where the animals seem to know you're taking photos so
they intentionally show their backsides.

Sorta like the "throwback head" instinct in the Grimace, eh?

/
There are animals on the safari??? - we've seen a few blurry things in the far far distance but you actually saw ANIMALS!!!!!!!!! - wow - how lucky are you!

Love the "torso" photo. I was actually wondering where the Grimace was til I studied it closer:lmao:

more please!

HAHAHA..i totally pull the "grimmie move " all the time in pictures..i have been a torso, a pair of legs with a large pillow growing on top of them as well as my favorite, "headless girl"...i dig the Grim's moves...:lmao:

Jay and I have wondered before if they train the animals to do that. ;)

popcorn:: I almost didn't recognize you with your shorts on Brenda:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Those are actually airbrushed in, just for you AFEG!

OK, that is one classic photo! Thanks for the laugh this morning! :rotfl2:

Glad you enjoyed it - there were so many to choose from that picking the photo with the appropriate degree of annoyance on Grimmie's face really was something of a challenge. :lmao:

I think there is some kind of symbolism in this picture with the giant mouth bareing (sp?) down upon you two! :rotfl:

I'm not sure what that is supposed to be...does anyone know? :confused3

Karen my dear, you guys just need to get to the AK as early as possible and take the safari right away - then you'll see plenty of animals. :thumbsup2

more please!

Grimace just didn't want to take one for the team this time. She can be so difficult...now I know where I get it from. Next update will probably be tomorrow night - thanks for reading!

Actually I used to pull those moves a lot, too. But then I married into a family where there are volumes of photo albums on each child and they've slowly trained me to relax in front of the camera. Not that I'll ever enjoy it, but I can tolerate it.

It's kind of funny now that I think about it... my mom has a shoebox with about 50 pictures of me spanning birth through age 21. Jason's mom has seven photo albums of pictures just of him...he also has a brother and a sister so you can do the math and arrive at the same conclusion I did:

Why didn't you buy stock in Kodak???

Thanks again for reading, everybody!! :grouphug:

Thanks for the laugh! And don't you think that the bumpity bump of the trucks makes the safari more fun because it gets everybody giggling? The bumps are the best part!:cool1:

Anyway, good installment.......I'm with Karen...MORE PLEASE.You need to forget that you have a life and think about us!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for reading! I actually love the bumpy ride - makes everything more realistic and more fun.

I think about you you guys all the time...how to make you laugh, what are the best stories to pull out of each day...my husband is starting to feel neglected and my work is suffering and I can't remember the last time I cleaned the litterbox. ;)

Come back tomorrow night...can you hang on that long? ;)

You guys make me happy when you ask me to update - I feel like I'm doing something right. :thumbsup2

As for the May trip...I can't believe it's just over 6 weeks away. There is so much going on that I just hope neither Jay nor I self-destruct before we leave.

Have a good night - I will be updating tomorrow while the man works late. :goodvibes

Looking forward to it.....

I don't know what Karen and I (and Nancy and Linda and AFEG and Jeff)will do with no trip report to read in May. You know of course that we will begin pressuring you for a trippie as soon as you get back. You will need to take extra time off of work after your vacation to allow for writing!:lmao: :lmao:

I hope things slow down for you soon. I think we would be great friends if we lived closer to each other.....Or at least I think we would be intoxicated friends if we lived closer to each other!!:rotfl: In fact, I think I will open a bottle of my extremely cheap wine.........Have a good one!

...my husband is starting to feel neglected and my work is suffering and I can't remember the last time I cleaned the litterbox.

If HP is anything like Wally or Fluffy Weitzman (our two), he'll 'politely' remind you about the litterbox...You probably want to avoid that. ;)

Just wanted to check-in and say nice work! And hey, what's the weather like? I'll be traveling through St. Louis next week...

Oh you guys will be fine - after all we're only going to be gone for a week. Hopefully this report will be done or very close to being done by then. ;)

It's just a busy time of year at work for both of us. Add in too many weddings and a ton of family birthdays and I end up feeling like this by Memorial Day: :scared1:

I think we'd be great friends, too. We'll just have to settle for DIS-friends until we can figure out how to end up on a cruise ship or at WDW at the same time.

Pete just yells a lot when his box needs to be taken care of. Luckily he hasn't left us any "gifts"...yet. ;)

The weather this week has been cold, rainy, and generally craptastic. According to the long-range forecast next week should see daytime temps in the low 70s with evening temps in the low 50s. Right now it looks pretty clear, but this time of year that can change pretty fast. It will probably rain at some point during your visit, so if you'll be outside much bring an umbrella, just in case!

So, if I may ask, what brings you to Stinktown, business or pleasure?

Thanks again for reading!
