10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

As if things couldn't possibly get any worse, they did.
Katie developed pneumonia overnight. While it is a complication, they are treating her with IV antibiotics and are repeating her chest x-ray on Monday.
We just came back from seeing her and while she looks good to me, she is very sick.
Chris and I are heartbroken since we have had our 2 other French Bulldogs die within the past 2 years, one from cancer and the other from a heart defect. Both were under 3 years of age. We haven't had any luck with our French Bulldogs and we are such dog lovers!
Please keep Katie in your prayers. I have been praying to St. Francis all day asking him to help Katie get better. She is our baby and I can't stand to lose another Frenchie so soon.

Jacqueline, I am so sorry Katie is sick. It sounds as though she's in good hands and is being well taken care of.

Gena, hope your sons Jamboree was fun and that his team won their game. My two oldest are playing middle school football for the first time this year..athough I guess I should say my 6th grader is sitting the bench and my oldest is out of commission from a collarbone injury he got in practice on Monday :) He'll be out at least 2 weeks.

Gonna go watch our school's softball team play in their playday. Talk to you all later,

Lori P. :)

Man that is so hard. You have our prayers. Please keep us posted and us us know when she is home and healthy again. Lois

Happy Sunday! Hope this post finds everyone well. Jacquelyn please let us know how you baby is doing.

We went to see Katie this morning. Her pneumonia seems to be the same-she is going to have another chest x-ray this afternoon. She is in an oxygen tank and is getting nebulizer treatments.

She is vomiting still a bit so the doctors are worried that she may have a post-surgery ileus, which is a bowel obstruction. So we didn't really ge the good news that we were hoping for.
As her mother, I know that Katie is a frequent puker-she has always been, since she was a baby. That comes as no surprise to me that she is puking-she is on tons of pain meds, in a strange setting, around strange people and just had back surgery. She probably isn't feeling too good right now! I think she has an upset belly and that is why she is puking! (God, I hope I am right. We do not need a bowel obstruction right now.)

I want to Thank all of you who are praying for us and for our Katie. It means alot to Chris and I knowing that you are thinking of her and praying for her recovery.

We spoke to her doctor a few times and we just need to wait and see how her x-rays turn out this afternoon. There still is a chance that she may pull through. All we have is some hope that she can come home to us!

Checking in for the weekend. Have been busy redoing all the boys rooms, man has it been a long weekend. I will be glad to get back to work tomorrow.

Hope Katie is doing better. With Shaggy so sick a few weeks ago, I know how it feels to have one of the kids sick.

Got our t shirts I designed, they look great. You all will be able to tell who we are:cool1: Got the FE i had ordered also, guess we can go now, all that is left is to pack:banana:

Got to run, have to finish the boys rooms.
Kim

Hi everyone,
Katie got her xrays today. It looks like her pneumonia had gotten a bit worse but that is to be expected. She doesn't have a bowel obstruction so hallelujah for that!
She seems to be breathing well out of the O2 cage so they may move her to a regualr crate tonight or tomorrow. We will see when the Dr calls us in the AM. I am needing some good news right now.

JW

Mollie is still in our prayers. I am glad that there was no bowel obstruction and you may have also been correct about her upset stomach as well. Please keep us posted.

Kim - good luck on the finishing the boys rooms.

Well, Drew has left for school - or soccer camp anyway. I had to come to work to complete an upgrade for a customer so I don't have enough time to feel sorry for myself. And we have to move the rest of his stuff down next weekend without him as he will be at practice. Oh, the fun never ends!!! Nor do I want it to I guess.

Have a good week everyone.

Hey everyone,

Just thought i'd check in and say hi. I took Charlotte on a surprise trip to New York City this weekend. She loves Neil Diamond and his tour is not coming near us so i'd thought we'd fly down for the weekend and go see him at Madison Square Garden. Charlotte was shocked as she thought we were just going to Niagara Falls for the weekend!

We had a great time, the concert was amazing and we were able to get a lot of shopping done for the wedding and cruise which is coming fast! Lots of work to do still before then so we'll be busy for the next few weeks getting organized.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Ian

Glad to hear the good news about Katie.

Gail, sounds like you're staying busy. Hope Drew enjoys his first week at school.

For anyone with boys, what are they wearing to dinner on formal night? We just don't have the money to go with tuxes or even to go out and buy four suits. I'm thinking of just looking for some blazers in a resale shop around here and letting them wear khakis and a jacket. My DH said, "Wouldn't it be cheaper just to tell them not to come to dinner on formal night?" LOL

Oh, and another thing, for all the teachers out there, I found a great website that I'm using this year...www.engrade.com It's a free site that lets you post grades online so that parents can see them at any time. It also lets kids look to see if they are missing assignments. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Ian, that sounds sooo fun. What a wonderful surprise for Charlotte.

Lori- 2 years ago, we had the boys in nice slacks, and shirt, two had a tie, and the others would not think of it. They looked very nice, and was inexpensive. I think that is what we are doing again this year.

Good to hear Katie is out of the O2 cage, that is a big step in the right direction.

Off to get boys to school.

Have a great day
Kim

We are not planning to dress up for formal night. :duck: I think Wynn will wear dark pants and a button up, MAYBE a tie, but I won't count on it. Tucker will wear khakis and a button up. Avery and I will wear a dress. Knowing Avery, hers will be a princess dress! We hate to dress up, and it is just not our idea of a vacation!

Jacquelyn... hope Katie is feeling better today!

Hope you all have a magical cruise, would like to ask one favor, if any one
going on the Western Cruise in Oct, when you return home, would you please
post your daily navigators for us to view. We are taking our first DCL cruise
on Nov. 1 and really excited about all the activities. Last night was our
window to book Palo and other excursions, stayed up all night, the system
was down until 4 in the morning, well to make a long story short, No Palo
for our group, as no pixie dust was left. So we thought if we could look over
some of the other activities that would be a great help. Bon Voyage and have a good trip.

Muffin07 - I hope the PM helped you out.

Jacquelyn - how is the patient today?? I hope that she is improving daily and gets to come home soon.

At least it isn't Monday for much longer. WHAT a day!!!

Jacquelyn - Hope Katie is doing better now.

Lori - My DS will be wearing long black pants that he wore to a wedding (they are light, so won't add to our luggage weight) and probably a long sleeved shirt. Don't know about shoes yet. Might try & find some black sneakers that look good, else he'll have to wear his school shoes. No tie, no jacket. My DH will probably be the same.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Tania

Lori,

My boys will wear dark slacks, a long sleeve white shirt and tie. DH may do the same. He does not like to dress up on vacation. It will be a fight just to get them to leave the ties on until after dinner.

Hope everyone is doing well. We are back in the swing of things. DS13 and I just returned from a band parents meeting/pizza supper. I helped serve about 70 cheese pizzas. They had 92 to serve, so there were definitely leftovers. DS10 goes to the doctor tomorrow to have his foot checked. Keep your fingers crossed that nothing is broken.

Jacquelyn, hope you get good reports today. Let us know how things are.

Gena
