10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Gail- Count me in!! Just let me know when you start the thread. I've got about 40 pounds to lose. It's about 400 miles from my house to the hotel in Port Canaveral. I'm going to do my best to walk at least 4 times a week. Pam

Good Luck to all who are doing WW, Nutrisystem etc. :wizard: I am throwing Pixie Dust your way. I have always strugggled a bit with my weight. WW works for me but for only 3 months or so. ( I like candy waaaaayyyyyy too much) Then I can't stand counting, measuring, meetings any longer. But those on it now, dont' give up! It does work (just not long term for me) Remember small goals add up to large goals.
Dh is a marathon runner so I have no problems getting him to exercise with me. We are walking 2-3 miles a night (IF it doesn't rain) and I am trying very hard to watch what I eat. Again, good luck to all of us tring to be a "loser." :woohoo:

OK - I started a thread in the WISH Journal board. Didn't know if it was the right place but sounded good at the time. Buccaneers Take the Scale.

OK BUCCANEERS!!! Come on over to the WISH Journal Board and let's start motivating each other to get healthier!
The more, the merrier!!

I'm ah comin over to the WISH threads.

Much to long Beth, I thank god for unemployment insurance. To bad it did cover my car, I had to pay to get that fixed out of my pocket.

Bumping up from page two.

Hope everyone is doing well - hump day here - yippee! Kristie comes tomorrow for a few days again so I get to have another female in the house which is always nice. Also I am going to book NativeWay this week for our Grand Cayman day.

That was a bad accident. Thank goodness you weren't severly injured!! I am on stress reduction meds too, and you're right they don't help with the weight. But mine does give me the right balance mentally, so I'm not going off. If I get the rest of me in order - I KNOW I can lose the weight. I just look at my 2 year old everytime I need a bit of inspiration to lose it. I want to be healthy and energetic for her!!!
I'll be joining you all on the weight loss board!! See ya there!!

I thank god everyday that I was the only one involved.

I was on Citalopram 40 mg. I have to say I felt great when I started taking it but after about 8 months I started having bad headaches. I noticed that the medication was not as effective any more also. I've read that your body gets use to it and it does work as well.
I going to stay off of it until I get my extra pounds off. Then I going to find a new doctor. I've been going to the same doctor for over 20 years, I don't think she is really listening to me. I've read that, that happens sometimes too.
Thanks to all for the advice.

Hey!!! I'm off to our WISH thread.

Hi all.

Just to update you that all your thoughts & prayers must be working. Thank you. The husband of our teacher is doing much better - that is he is in a ward instead of intensive care & will possibly be able to go home sometime next week. He will still have to have more skin grafts & will suffer other effects from his injuries but things are looking brighter at the moment.

We are off to the Gold Coast in Australia tomorrow :cool1: for a week so please don't post too much while we're away :rotfl: .

Have a great weekend & week everyone

Talk to you when we get back :thumbsup2

Sorry to have you change plans. When are you planning to be at WDW? Janet and I will be there from 9/20 to 9/27. Just got in on the free dining. Enjoy you time at WDW. Lois

Hi all! Just returned from taking 81 7th graders to Six Flags Over Georgia. I had a lot of parents who thought I should cancel the trip because they kept hearing threats of thunder storms, but i held firm b/c I saw only 50% chance on the net. I am so glad i did because we had GORGEOUS weather. As we were leaving, it did start sprinkling but we had a perfect sunny day!

I think Im going to go to bed, so I'll talk to you all later on!
Lori P. :)

Lori, Glad your trip went well.

We were in the hallways at school for over an hour today. A thunderstorm with a possible tornado was spotted in the area of our school. Thankfully, nothing happened. The kids did great, only a few tears. Buses did not leave until 3:20 (we normally dismiss at 2:30). The weather cleared later and we had a nice evening. It is suppose to cool down a great deal and we have a chance for a light frost Monday night. Thankfully I haven't planted anything yet.

Keggy, Sorry you won't be joining us. Hope you have a wonderful trip to WDW.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We have a game tomorrow evening and DS (12) has solo and ensemble festival. His band director said he did well today playing his solo. Hope he does as well when he plays tomorrow. Talk to you tomorrow.

Hi Everyone!!

After a gorgeous week of 70 - 80 degree weather, we are sitting at 51! Yikes! Where did spring go? :rotfl2:

Say lots of prayers for me (and my students) this week. Our HUGE state test goes all week. :scared:

I hope everyone is having a restful weekend!

Ginger:dance3:

Ginger,

Hope your tests go well. We finished ours last week.

It is very cool here. They are saying we may even have a light frost Monday night/Tuesday morning.

DS (9) lost his game last night by 1 run, but received the game ball. DS (12) did well at the festival yesterday. He will find out his score tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Gena

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted in the last few days but I had Nate (my GS) for a few days. Hey, a one year old is a bundle of energy! I could sleep for 2 straight days!

Did I miss anything? What's there to catch up on?

Steve and I , my brother and SIL gave our father a 75th birthday party Saturday night and it was a wonderful success. Almost everyone invited showed up.

Have a great day!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had leader training at the girl scout camp this weekend. I walked around 3 miles there... back and forth acroos the camp. Wynn and the kids went to the cub scout camporee. The had a good time, but came home exhausted. Tucker slept from midnight Sat to 3 PM on Sunday! Luckily we have 1 more week out of school for them to recover and get back on schedule.

Starting my diet this week... wish me luck!
