Sorry to see you go but if it was bothering you that much, then you know you made the right decission. I'll look forward to meeting you on the new ship!

Thank you, Jesus! After an 11 month battle with chronic ear infections and facing the possibility of tubes, my grandson faught and won the war! His doctor is so pleased and it goes without saying, SO ARE WE!

That is great news and am happy to hear about it!

Could be we have discussed this in the past but I just saw that the MNSSHP dates have been released and there is one Friday night before we cruise. Seems like I have waited forever for them to post park hours and the dates for this - it must really be getting closer.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Drew and David went to Ohio to see our parents (well, our parents for David, grandparents for Drew) so the house will be a bit quieter than normal.

KerriL, sorry to see you go.

Denise, that's great news about your grandson :goodvibes . My DS had ear infections before he was 1 & the doctor had said if he got any more he would need tubes. Thankfully he didn't get any more.

Okay I have a question for you all. I saw a thread about applesauce. That reminded me of our trip to WDW and a question we had then -
What's with the applesauce :confused3 ? Every counter service kids meal we ordered came with applesauce. Is it a replacement for tomato sauce (ketchup), is there an abundance of apples :lmao:, do people eat it as a replacement for fruit or what? I know weird question but we don't have applesauce here unless the meal is roasted pork.
After 2 or 3 meals we found out we could swap it for something else (carrots?) but it really had us stumped :rotfl: .

Anyway hope everyone has a great weekend.

Tania

Its their way of serving veggies without threat of spoiling... applesauce keeps forever! We swapped ours for fries several times. We would also throw it in the backpack for later. We had applesauce for weeks after our trip. It was kinda sad to see the last one get eaten. :sad1: Kids here eat applesauce often.

By the way... ketchup is a veggie according to the school and daycare systems in NC. :scared1:

Thanks, now we know :thumbsup2 . My kids just looked at it quite mystified why on earth anyone would have applesauce with their food :rotfl: .

Tonight our clocks go back :scared1: . End of daylight savings means the end of summer :sad1: . The weather seems to know too as the last couple of nights/mornings it's been cold. However it will be nice to get up in the light for a while.

I agree on your ketchup comment, I am still trying to figure out how french fries and corn dogs constitute "healthy" food?!:confused3

Hi everyone! I feel as though I have been an absentee member of this thread lately, lol. I have been reading all the posts, but I keep thinking, "I'll post next time." Busy, busy....

I can't believe I made it through yesterday without even realizing that it was the 6 month mark. I was walking through Walmart tonight and it hit me...we're UNDER six months! YEAHHHH!!

Hey, question for you guys, and it may have been addressed already on the boards, but have any of you wondered about the addition of fuel surcharges for our cruise? I'm considering going ahead and paying the cruise off in case they put an extra charge on. I wanted to keep the money in our savings to earn interest, but it would be worth it to pay it off if it means not incurring a possible extra charge.

I don't know what DCL is going to do but that is why I opted to pay off the cruises once I had the money. Would love to avoid any additional charges if I can. It was an easy decision for me.

On the podcast, which, if you aren't subscribed let me just say it's great!, they said that if your cruise was already paid in full, you would not be charged.

Just got back from spending the weekend with Nate and it was so nice to spend time with him when he was feeling well. That's the first time since his birth that I have gone up there to see him that he wasn't sick!

Reminder,
Contact DCL to link your dining if you want to and also check to make sure they have you down as CC member if you've cruised DCL before.

Wow!! I love it that my countdown clock is UNDER the 6 month mark now. :cool1: We are getting very excited for this cruise.
DH and I are linked up with 2 wonderful Dis'ers for this cruise and we are SO happy that we are! Dining with total strangers for us is a bit scary for us but now we don't have to be so scared. I am starting to feel like I already know Mrs. Gumdrop and Grandma4ever, who are our tablemates!! :goodvibes :goodvibes
It's a great idea to link reservations!!

Under six months:scared1: Boy, I 've got to get packing.:yay:
I'm happy for you Jacquelyn.

Hi everybody! I have been drowning in work lately and very absent for the DIS. How I have missed it! This weekend I have gone back to Weight Watchers for what feels like the millionth time! I am proud of myself for re-committing and I am ready to face this week and make healthy choices. I was wondering if any of you have spent any time over on the W.I.S.H thread? I would love to connect with others who also have weight challenges, but when I poked around yesterday it seemed a little chaotic. I am just not sure where to start. Any thoughts?

For those of you who have had challenges and celebrations over the last two weeks. I am thinking of you!

Congrats on starting WW. I hope it works for you. I am trying to commit to Nutri-System, but my life is so chaotic lately that I haven't been able to stick to it very well. I am going to try and get busy now, cause I am running out of time! I went and poked around on the WISH thread, but it seemed very clickish to me. I tried joining in one challenge thread, and was basically told they weren't accepting any new subscribers! Very disappointing when looking for motivation... :sad2:

Dh and I have started our nightly walking since the weather here in the Philadelphia area is getting better. I have done WW what seems like a million times but always seem to fall off the wagon around the 3 month mark. I just can't seem to make it past that mark. :sad1: But I am contemplating joining again. We'll see.....
Good Luck Lauren!! :yay: :yay:

Hello everyone. Hope you all had a good weekend.

I have a request. Could you say prayers for one of the teachers at our school, Dianne. Her husband David, who is a firefighter, was seriously injured on Saturday in an explosion. He is in a High Dependeny Unit and in an induced coma. He has severe burns to his face and he may will lose an arm. He wasn't even meant to be on duty that day.

One fireman was killed in the explosion and seven others injured (ranging from moderate to critical injuries).

This family had their teenage daughter diagnosed with leukemia at the beginning of last year. Dianne took the year off to look after her and had just come back this year and now this.

Thanks
Tania

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your friend and the family of all the fireman. DH is a fireman and we know how hard this is on all of the fellow men.:grouphug:

I'm so sorry to hear that Tania. My prayers are with all of the families.

Our prayers for your friend and her husband are without question. That is an aweful lot for one family to face. I thank God for all the men and women that agree to protect and serve. They place themselve in harms way daily and seldom do they get thanked.

As far as a thread for those of us who struggle with eating heathly it sounds like there are enough already on this thread. I have 40 pounds I would love to lose but that isn't my biggest concern. I have to eat healthy to reduce the pain I have. If I eat too much processed foods I have increased pain. So I try to stay with whole and fresh foods in an attempt to get healthy. However, I have never gone over to the wish section of this board.

Hope everyone has a great week, we are now one day closer!!! Lois
