10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Last time we were in Key West we did a "Trails of Margaritaville" tour. Being a Jimmy Buffett fan it was fun. Lot's of walking, talking and several margarita stops. Here's the info if anyone is interested...
The Trails of Margaritaville tour (305- 292- 2040, http://www.trailsofmargaritaville) costs $20 and departs daily at 4 p.m. at Captain Tony's (428 Greene St.). Reservations required.

We're in 6042, and the kids are going to be 10 and 6 on the cruise. I will have a fish extender outside of the door. I can share what I'm bringing, or leave it as a surprise... whatever everyone else wants.

I found some cute materials for Avery's and my pockets on the fish extender this weekend. Mine is Tinkerbell, and Avery picked Ariel, both in shades of turquoise and purple. I will not buy the other fabrics until I find something for Wynn and Tucker's pockets, though. I have been reconsidering, and may do tie-dye type pockets for everyone with mickey or minnie heads. This is almost as tough as deciding excursions! If only the excursions were this cheap...

Gottcha down, thanks!

Hey Kari, we are in 6056 and my son (Colton) will be almost 11 (loves video games and soccer) at cruise time and my daughter (Chloe) will be 8 (girly mamas girl). Pretty close in ages to yours!

As far as our FE gifts, I want them to be surprises for you all! What is the general "rule of thumb" with them...1 gift per family, 1 gift per "slot" on the FE :confused3 I am sure it just depends on the family and what they want/can do, but it will also depend on how many of us participate. 15 gifts to buy is one thing and 45 is another :scared1: Guess I just wait until it gets closet to see what the rules are. :yay:

You can do it either way; one per cabin, one per person, just something for the kiddos. It's up to you. So far, we have 11 cabins.

Hey Everyone,

Hope your day went well. DS (9) is fighting the tummy bug as we speak. I am reading the boards in between running in his room and checking on him.

I have a question concerning the fish extenders. Are most families doing one gift per slot on the FE, one per family, or one per child? I'm still looking and deciding on what I can bring from good old North Alabama. Just wondering.

On a piece of good news, my dad is doing better today. Now, my mother as well has come down with something like my dad had. When it rains it pours around here. I just hope I stay well until all the testing is over. Two days down and 4 more to go.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Gena

Tucker turns 10 in May. He loves Star Wars, Pokemon, and video games. Avery will have her 6th birthday on the ship. She is a true girly girl, too. She wears her princess dresses most of the time at home... riding her bike, jumping on the trampoline, etc! princess:

My fish extender gift is for the kids only, and 1 per kid. Denise... maybe if we tell you they are for everyone, kids only, etc you can adjust the list to spread things around a little? I'm fine with you changing my days around (except pirate: night!)

Hi everyone! It's been forever since I posted. I can't believe how much I've missed! I hope everyone is feeling better. We had a bit of excitement too.

My son was the lead in the school play. During the first performance (last Thursday morning), he began having terrible pain in his lower abdomen. We ended up taking him to the ER with the fear of apendicitis. As it turned out, he, for lack of better terminology, had his pipes clogged. :lmao: Needless to say, he had an experience he isn't likely to forget but still made it back to school to be in the production that night.

We are on spring break this week! We have been painting our living room for the past couple of days though, so I am exhausted. The sad part is that I would still rather be doing this than be at school! We hope to be able to do something fun with the kids today though.

Jan, could you pm the spreadsheet to me please? I still have intentions of getting a FE for at least myself and perhaps my sister. I hope to participate in the giving as well. I just can't get it together until school is out.

If you would, please remember my friend in prayer. She successfully fought very serious breast cancer last year. They found a lesion on her brain stem last week. She is scheduled for surgery Thursday morning. I really feel that God is working though. Her PET scan came back clean, and the lesion has changed shape (for the better). I feel that He is going to do a miraculous thing. Her original prognosis (last week) was only 1-3 years. I feel that she is going to have an incredible testimony of the Lord's healing. Her name is Pam.

Gotta run. You know how it is with kids! They are always wanting something!

Ginger

Ginger,
What is your friend's name so I can pray specifically for her? I will lift her up.

Kari,
I really believe that it won't be a problem with giving to just the children. I'll put the check mark in red for kids only. You have Monday and Wednesday and that's still fine with me. If you need to change, however, let me know. Which day would you prefer to deliver to the children so I can mark it?

Thanks Denise! Her name is Pam. She is my Minister of Music's wife. My daughter and niece were joint flowergirls in her daughter's wedding. They are just practically family. We appreciate all the prayers we can get! :lovestruc

Ginger

Ginger, let Pam know that I will keep her in prayer. The power of prayer is great. Lois

Thank you Lois! My husband will be going to the hospital to wait with the family while I stay with the kids. I'll have him pass the word on to Pam's husband that we have another prayer chain going.

Good morning, all! Its cold and rainy here. I can hardly wait to put the kids down for a nap today... then maybe snuggle up on the couch with a movie. Oh, the joys of home daycare! :cloud9: That's me all snuggled up!

Well, after pondering canceling the cruise, I finally had to go ahead and do it. We just couldn't leave the kids alone. We will either plan another DCL cruise with them or wait a few years and try one of the new ships.:cool1: We still have a 12 night trip for this summer down to WDW so, it's all good!
I hope you all have a wonderful cruise and make some "magical" memories with your loved ones:goodvibes
