10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

We left the ocean and returned to a river in our house!!! Apparently while we were gone, a pipe on a toilet in the boys' bathroom burst and we came home to 2 inches of water in their bathroom, as well as completely soaked floors in DS 10's room and partially soaked floors in DS13's room. The water came out into our breakfast area, soaking the baseboards. I called the emergency water removal people last night, who were here until 2 this morning. I currently have fans and dehumidifiers running in half of my house. All the carpet and baseboards are out of the boys rooms, as well as the baseboards in our eating area. The cabinets in their bathrooms (each has their own sink area, sharing the tub/toilet area) will probably have to be replaced. I don't know about my kitchern cabinets yet. Patrick's room back's up to the kitchen. n There was so much water that it went out into our garage, as well as outside our house, where Payton's room is. The ground was soaked outside his room. You can even see where the water had gone up the bricks. I don't know how long this is going to take, but we are in for a major renovation on that end of our house (and it isn't even 4 years old yet). Payton got new furniture this summer, and now that is ruined. Say a prayer that we get a generous insurance claim rep when they come out tomorrow to inspect the damage. The bad thing is, I have to go back to school tomorrow. At least, I am able to use my washer/dryer. We are going to move the boys upstairs to our guest room while repairs are being done. I am wishing to have this stuff repaired by T-giving, but who knows.

We enjoyed our cruise so much. We rebooked for next October while on board. Hopefully we will be able to go, if they do not take away our fall break.

I love the idea of the list for Xmas cards. I will be pm my address shortly.

HI Gena...so sorry to hear about your house!!! What a terrible thing to have to come home to...as if you weren't exhausted enough already!

We are planning on going to Disney next year around the same time and maybe another cruise in 2010...we are waiting for our quote from DCL as the dates are being released this week. We had an awesome time...the girls were so sad to leave. As for Hayden...he is just too little yet to even know what was going on! It would be nice for him to be a little bit older the next time!

It was great to meet everyone and like my DH said...the FE idea was great...the girls would run to our door everytime to see what surprises awaited them! Thank you to everyone for adding us to your lists!

We leave for our cruise this friday, and I am trying to decide if I should bring some along to keep my hubby happy in case they only have sweet n low or nutrisweet on board. The weather was actually pretty good...we only encountered a bit of rain on the Tuesday when we were in Grande Cayman...but once we got to where we were going...it stopped! Every other day was nice...a couple threatened rain but never did! I didn't find it humid at all...I am really missing the heat though...it was in the high 80's every day!

I hope the weather turns out nice for you...Have a good vacation!

Well we are home and I've already put in two days at work. Just wanted to stop by and say a great big thank you to all our Buccaneer friends that made the vacation so extra special with the fish extender gifts. We had the best time...you all ROCK!

Hi everyone...we got home last night, and I must say I'm just homesick for the ship. What made it so nice was seeing familiar faces around the ship. Gave it a "hometown" feel to me. We did rebook, but have moved it to March 2010, but will probably move it because the March 2010 price is almost $2000 more than the October 2010 price for two cat. 11's. Just don't know when.

Gena, I am so sorry that happened. Dealing with insurance isn't the greatest thing in the world to have to do..no offense meant to insurance adjustors. I hope your first week back to school is going well.

Kim, we went to Kennedy Space Center on the 11th too! We got there right at 9:00 and stayed until probably 2 or so, then headed over to Nick Family Suites. Sorry we missed seeing you guys.

Jaquelyn, speaking of crying, the last night when the waiters do their walk around the dining room with the flags of different countries, I had to look away to keep from crying. I knew I would look like some kind of kooky fruitcake, but it just made me so sad that we were leaving. I really liked our waiters and still miss talking to them.

Did you enjoy MNSSHP? I was hoping to run into you guys while we were there. Despite the rain, we had a great time and never waited in line for anything longer than 15 minutes or so.

Mindi, my oldest son came down with swimmer's ear as well. Monday, he started complaining with bad pain, so I took him to the doctor this morning and that's what she diagnosed him with. He's doing ear drops twice a day.

I would love it if everyone would post what their rebooking date is..maybe that'll give me some direction in which to go.

Welcome back to reality all Buccs

Gena - sorry to hear about your "river". What a mess you have to deal with. Hope the insurance company/adjuster move fast and don't stall.

I, too, want to say thank you, thank you, thank you for the FE gifts. If you happened to have met Dave, you know he's not quiet. He "mumbled" to himself about using luggage space for our FE gifts we were bringing. Well, quick turnaround attitude here, every day several times each day, he was running (or running as fast as he can) to the FE extender to see what gifts were delivered to our stateroom. There was no "mumbling" when we were packing up to come home with our FE gifts.

Our next DCL cruises are on the Magic: 1/10/09 and 9/19/09 (both Western). I will soon be booking a 4 day Wonder in the summer of 2010 for my WV kids and grandkids. I'm in sticker shock like most people are reading the threads about the costs of the 2010 cruises.

I still have lots of laundry to do, lots of work on my desk, but I still can smile thinking about the great friends I finally got to meet last week and the fun we had for 7 days aboard the Magic.

This weekend, I'm traveling to Columbus, OH. My WV son is in a marathon and I get to spend 3 days with my precious grandchildren.

I, too, want to thank everyone for all the treats we received. It certainly added to our trip. I can't remember right now, but a big thank you to the one who remembered Ben's birthday. That was so sweet. I have it written down somewhere, but right now it's a big pile in the middle of my living room.

I am still wearing my lime green rubber bracelet and it brings a smile to my face to see it. What a neat idea for a gift.

Well, we are home. We got home yesterday. I am very sad to know that after all of this planning, it is over. But I can say with certainty that this was my best vacation EVER! I loved being on the ship, going to the different ports and most of all, meeting everyone. I still think about everyone and smile! Chris and I were talking today and he was commenting on how glad he was that I joined this board. We were both so happy to see friendly faces around the ship, at the shows, at the ports, etc.

We had a great time at the World. Walking to the MK from the Contemporary I kept saying to Chris, "Being here eases the pain of the cruise being over." He agreed. We had a great time at the MK and especially at MNSSHP. We got alot of candy, rode many rides and had a blast. But I kept thinking of the Magic and my new friends, who I missed alot!













Our most favorite thing we saw was the night of MNSSHP. SPace Mtn was closed for a while and we were on the TTA. The lights were on in Space Mtn and we were able to see everything!!

I know we posted when we got home, but wanted to thank everyone for the FE gifts. We have been crazy since returning home. Got a phone call from ex-husband day we got back, he is being deployed on Friday tomorrow). He told Hunter Tuesday night, has been really rough on him. Hope we all keep in touch.
We need to get Peyton and Hunter together again. We will find time to come to Huntsville soon, he needs a mom and son get away now.

Hello everyone, We got back home last Sunday and this is the first chance I have had to post. I am going to be working non stop till at least the end of the month. But it was well worth it. Janet and I both thank everyone for all the wonderful FE gifts.

We have booked two dummy dates and plan to do 21 days again at some point in the future. Most likely 2011 or 2012 if I can make it that long. We do have plans to do WDW with the two older grandkids next July. Not looking forward to July but it is when my daughter says we can go. So that is what we are doing.

I loved meeting each of you and hope to one day vacation together again. Only time will tell so if you want stay in touch. Lois

Someone had stolen $800 out of our checking account! They used the numbers from my debit card to do the dasterdly deed.

One of the transactions was in Helsinki, Finland! We went this morning and got the cards killed and a watch put on the checking account but they say it will take up to 45 days to get the money put back into our account.

I discovered all this yesterday just minutes after our bank closed so we were at their doors first thing this morning.

The only thing that keeps me from really getting angry about this is that the Bible tells us that uf you steal, it will cost you 10 fold.

Anyway, have a great day getting back to normal everyone.

Man at times life sucks. I hope they catch the criminals that did that! I too believe that what each of us does comes back ten fold. They will get theirs in the end.

Janet, good to hear from you in person. When I saw the screen name, I thought that it was strange to have a new poster AFTER the cruise, but then I saw it was you and it all made sense, lol.

Well, I gotta run and get ready. High school football game tonight, and it's the perfect weather for it. No humidity (a rare thing in Chattanooga) and cool...LOVE IT! I even brought out my sweater.

I got pics of Tigger and Eyeore for you and Lois and will post them soon. However, TIGGER IS A MASHER!!! Yep, Tigger got very friendly which will explain the look on my face in the picture! I'm not kidding one bit! And he's an under-his-breath-beneath the costume moaner too! I couldn't believe it! Too strange!

Just thought I'd post that we are FINALLY home! Got in late last night after a whirlwind week in WDW. Folks thought Epcot was awesome and actually got Oma onto the Space Mountain and Everest Rides! She was a little pale, but lived through it. You only live once?

Hope everyone got home okay, and that the little Treasure Chests got home okay too! It was kinda awkward to lug them all the way from cold cheery Canada! Some of the little "gems" inside are meant for decorating the box, it's kinda like a project for you! I didn't really explain that too well, hope everyone got it!

I would like to thank everyone for their FE Gifts, it was so neat to hang the FE and watch for things in there each day, almost like Christmas every day!

I was horrible the last night at MK, cried like a little baby during the fireworks. Sad to see it over, next time will do the WDW first tho, need to relax after that 5 day tirade! Especially since DS decided he wasn't afraid of any rides!

We plan on sailing again (just me and Ds this time) probably late 2010.

Oma/Opa planning on another Cruise as well, probably though the Panama Canal. They really liked Cruising!!
