10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

We made it home by 6:00pm on Saturday. The kids and wife (deego - Denise) are sad the trip is over. We are looking at re-booking in 2010, just need to firm up some vacation days.

It was great to meet you all!!!

The FE gift giving was awesome, the kids and us loved it.

You were all great and keep in touch.

Paul & Denise

Hey Paul, let me know when you are rebooking, maybe we can book same time... get those dancing moves together first tho!

Hello-

Chris and I are looking to change our July 2009 cruise to the May 2010 Double Dip on the Wonder & 4 night Bahama Cruise Back to back. So we would do the May30-June4 plus the June4-June8 which would give us 3 Castaway Cay days!

We were talking about how much we loved Castaway Cay and 1 day is just not enough for us so we think we are going to change it. We really like the idea of multiple days at Castaway Cay.
Just have to wait until DU gets back to me with the confirmation.

Jacquelyn:

Move your cruise to early July 2010! I just booked us and our WV kigs on the 4 day Wonder - July 2, 2010!

Hello all! We made it back last Sat night about 1:30 AM. We ended up going back to Sea World after leaving the ship, as the kids didn't want to go to Aquatica. It turned out nice, as they were having their Spooktacular Halloween party, and the kids trick-or-treated. We left there around 4PM, planning to drive and stop along the way... but traffic was light, so we went all the way home.

We have been very busy since getting home. But today the kids went back to school, and I MIGHT get a minute to sit and relax!

We thought about rebooking onboard. I looked into the trans-Atlantic, but just can't pull the kids out of school that long. I heard they had trouble selling those last time... now I know why. They tack on ports at both ends of the trip, and it is during the school year. We also looked into a 2010 Eastern or Western, but the price is a bit steep... $600 more than the one we just came back from, which went up almost $900 before we eer got it booked to begin with! I have to agree with posters on the main forum... Disney has lost their minds! We are considering RCCL or a different trip altogether.

Hey Buccaneers! Doesn't it feel like a year since we were together? I can't believe it has been so long since I posted.

I have to admit, I've been in the Disney Dumps. I'm always a little sad when the trip is over. However, when I got my quote last week for a March 2010 date and it was more than double what I paid this year, it took the wind out of my sails. I almost felt rejected, if that makes any sense at all. I find myself checking the boards much less frequently because the thought of it makes me kind of sad / angry.

I LOVE DCL, but I can't see paying what they are asking right now. I am looking down the road toward planning a Disneyworld trip. We have actually only spent one day there with the kids. I don't know if we will be able to swing it next year or not.

I'm also considering pricing RCL. It almost hurts to type that, doesn't it? :lmao:

I so enjoyed cruising with you guys! The FE gifts were wonderful. I was a little distracted by my medical issues that were hanging over my head, so I didn't relax quite as much as I usually do. Still, I wouldn't trade a week on the Magic.

I hope you all are doing well settling back into reality! I look forward to keeping up with you.

I totally understand the Disney Dumps and that feeling of rejection. They closed the door in my face. I have priced both Princess and RCCL for 3 inside cabins on a 10 night southern for Christmas in 2010 and while neither have really released their 2010 pricint, the 2009 pricing is 4K less than what Disney quoted me for just 2 cat 11's. HOW CAN THAT BE?? But, as they said on the main board, they will continue to fill their ships at the highest prices they can get. Not with my $$'s though. While that makes me sad to say, there is just no way.

We are booked for our next cruise-May30-June 4 PLUS June 4-June 8, 2010. :cool1: I just joined my *new* cruise meet and it just isn't the same as the Buccaneers Take the West!:sad1:
We love Serenity Bay and this will give us 3 days there. Plus, this cruise back to back will be a 9 day cruise instead of the 7 we were going to do in July 2009. We gave up the Walt Suite but in the end, we get 3 days at Castaway, which is better (and cheaper!!!!) than the Walt Suite.

I think I'm in the Disney Dumps, too! I'm so sad that the cruise is over and that our next cruise isn't until 2010. Yikes. Seems like forever.

I guess I'll have to try to convince Chris to take me to the World sometime in 2009 so I don't go into a Disney Withdrawal.

Hope everyone has a great week. :goodvibes

I just priced out Disney in November (end of) 2009 for a 7 day cruise and am sad to say it just can't happen.
Unfortunately as the other posters have said, the prices went up. Too high for this single mom to handle. Just have to put Cruising on hold for a while. I really don't want to cruise on any other line but Disney, but if they are priced out of my budget, I can't starve to sail.

Just for kicks, I priced out the same cruise we just went on with my parents, and for the same amount of people with the original Cat 6 stateroom, it was about $1200 higher than what I paid. That was with the discount for being a Castaway Club member. :scared1:
*sigh*

I really wish I could surprise ds again with another Cruise in November of next year, but it doesn't look like it.

Will check for 2010... maybe get lucky and the prices will go down??
He so loves Cruising.

Hey Buccanneers!

Just brainstorming .... I want us to get out of the Disney Dumps ...

Since we all know we are going to miss one another's sailing company, can't we think/plan a cruise with RCCL??????? We all know RCCL can't compare to Disney, but we can still have fun. Just a thought.

Hi everyone. Just checking in. We arrived home this morning  .
We really enjoyed our 2 weeks on the Magic and had a great week at WDW. No one wanted to leave. The kids are back at school tomorrow which we are not looking forward to.

Tania

well, today was our first back at school. I actually was looking forward to it since I've not seen my students since October 3rd. The only bad part is that tonight, it was back to homework.

My two oldest, who are in middle school, had no homework, but my 2nd/3rd graders had a bunch. Actually they did tomorrow's HW too since Ben/Jake are playing their first soccer game tomorrow evening, and I have no idea what time we'll be home.

Jan, I would go along with the RCCL plan. We can cruise around March 13, 2010, anytime after May 25 or so, and we can go somewhere around the 2nd week in October. Right now we are booked for March 13, 2010 on the Magic, but it's almost $2000 more in March than in October. That just is painful to know.

With the boys being older, I think RCCL might be a good fit for us, although it makes me sad to think of not going with DCL.

Ginger, good to hear from you. I was hoping you'd post. Did your students like your braids? haha

Based on what I have seen and read on Cruise Critic, Princess might be a better way to go. But, I would be up for another get together.

We are in the same vote as most of you. I could not believe the increase in price for 2010. They are out of there minds but I am sure will still fill the ship as usual.

We are going to WDW in November 2009 with the kids.

Wish we could travel with you all again but I am thinking we will wait until 8 month old Hayden is at least 4 or 5 years old.

Regards,

Paul & Denise

Jan,

This might be something Steve and I would be interested in.....

Hello everyone! I don't even DIS like I did before the cruise. Talk about the dumps! But, I think we are going to try to do the DVC Member cruise next September. It is only a 4 day (with 2 stops at Castaway) but maybe a stay at Vero to go along with it will be nice. We shall see if I can get through on Sunday when they start taking reservations.

How is everyone doing? I can't beleive that Halloween is Friday, Thanksgiving next month and then Christmas. How did the time go so fast? We have been home 3 weeks. And yes, I would take some cheese with my whine ;)

Well, have a good week everyone. Keep that Magic alive!

Hi Guys,

Just checking up on y'all..... hope your days are as incredibly LONG as mine! Seems like when we were on the Ship, the days were shorter. Heck the weeks were shorter!

Still not sure what we are going to do for next year, was thinking of Cruising with a friend (she's not into Disney) and her son (he is same age as my ds). She likes Carnival. :confused3

Other than that, may plan a few days at Disney World next year to help with my Disney withdrawal.

Hope everyone is well, time to get back to work!!!

We ar eall back in the swing of work and school. Trying to figure out what we are doing fo rthe next cruise. We rebooked on board with the thought of moving it to 2010. We need to go the same week, but there is no Magic that week. They must still be coming back from the Med. The first sailing that I can find is for Oct 16. We are trying to decide if we keep it for next year or not. Would love to do RCCL for the pricing, but worried about the boys having fun. What is everyone else doing?
Kim

Kim,

Our cruise is scheduled for October 16, 2010 but I'm sure we'll move that. The reason the Magic is missing on the schedule for a fews weeks is that after it comes back from the Med, it is going into drydock....AGAIN! Maybe this time they'll finish everything BEFORE they turn the ship loose.

I'm sure we'll try to move the reservation to the new ship, if DCL will let us.

We will start booking our 2009 St Thomas/2 week WDW trip next month. We're going to book SSR and then try to change it for the THV in Feb when they are ready to be booked. Might do a week at THV and a week at BCV for the pool.

Hey Denise, I wouldn't count on everything being done. But nobody can't blame a person for dreaming. It is good to hear from folks. I am so sorry that I haven't had time to read and or post. I hope work will slow down and maybe I can catch up. Got to get to laundry. Later,b Lois
