10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Hi all! Good to hear whats going on with you guys. Trying to get back into the swing of real life. Boys soccer started at our school, so twice a week we're at the fields until pretty late. Throw in parent conferences and Halloween and I feel like I'm never home.

Gotta head to church, so I'll talk to you later.

Lori P. :)

We are making plans for Oct 3, 2009. Very excited.. Gena is our neighbor and Mindi and her family are right down the hall. All fo the kids will have a great time.

Basketball has started in full swing here.

Off to church and enjoy our day.

Hi everyone :)

This time last month I was too excited to sleep :)
Now I'm really in the Disney dumps. Anyone else in my club???

Since we have been back Katie has been improving a little bit every day. She seems to be moving her Bulldog legs better and better. She is still not out of the woods but definitely in a better place than she was 3 months ago. We are just glad to have her and will take things as they come along.

I have decided to leave my job at The University of Pennsylvania and work in a Mammography facility in NJ. It is in the same building as my sister and Chris and I'll only be working 2 days a week. I really need a change and this is it. Wish me luck. I start in a few weeks.

I'm going to be an Aunt in a few weeks. :goodvibes Chris' sister is about to give birth any day now and we are looking forward to the newest addition to our little family.

I really miss DISing and talking to my fellow Buccs! I hope everyone is well and is adjusting to life post-DCL. I truly miss the friends we made and miss Castaway Cay the most. I'll post a pic of what I stare at every single day. It is the most beautiful picture of Serenity Bay. I took it as we were leaving the beach.

PS: Oh, and how can I have forgotten: Our Philadelphia Phillies are the 2008 World Series Champions!!! We haven't won a WS in 28 years. We had our Parade on Friday and it was a doozy!! Reports said there were 3 million people there! We watched it in TV but Chris and my sister were at the final game(s) and had the BEST time!

****For those of you who do not follow baseball, Game 5 was suspended after 6 innings due to horrible rain & cold. The next day it SNOWED 3-4 inches and the last 3 innings were finally played last Wed evening. We won!!!!!*****

This is on my phone and my screensaver. I stare at it everyday!!

Congrat on the job. I am sure once you get your foot in the door you will get more hours if you want them. Enjoy the baby.

I miss the ship and all that comes with it. Castaway is at the top of my list.

That is a great picture. Mind if I steal it and use it myself. See everyone on the high seas. Lois

Hi all. Just checking in. I have been so busy lately that I hardly have time to sit and DIS. And with no Disney trip planned, it is a little depressing anyway! We decided to do an Oct 2010 cruise too, but the first cruise back my kids will be back in school... so I guess we will skip it. I will probably look into WDW for a week or RCCL.

I don't know if you all remember, but my sister was very sick with cancer. She passed away this past week. I have spent a lot of time the last few weeks running back and forth to her house, about 3 hours away. It has been really hard on her family - she has kids from 5 yrs to 20.

Kim: How fun! Dave and I are looking forward to our 9/19/09 Magic cruise - our 25th anniversary.

Have any of you read the post and thread on the TR board titled: Anyone else upset with the Oct 25 thru Nov 1 cruise? Hard to believe we were on the same ship a few weeks earlier.

Kari, I am so sorry for your loss. :sad1: My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Jacquelyn, glad to hear that Molly is improving, and I love your picture from CC. Hope you enjoy your new job. I would love to cut back on hours, but the only way I can see doing that as a teacher would be to job share with someone but finding someone that I'm that compatible with would take an act of God.

Well, it's off to school for me. Have a great day everyone!

Congrats Auntie and Uncle! :yay:

It snows here all the time during our Football games. Seems too early for snow though!

Castaway Cay was totally our favorite island!!
Cookie's BBQ was the best.
My parents adored Serenity Beach.
Skyler and I opted for the Family beach and the Seadoo's, he still talks about that like none of the rest of the Cruise mattered to him but that island.!!

I truly hope Disney lowers their prices or we can get a "last minute" deal in 2010. I can't see myself cruising on any other line, I have so much fun on Disney and love those ships so much.

Until then we will concentrate on camping to fill our needs.. maybe a quick trip to WDW or Disneyland. Will see how things go.

Good luck on the new job, sounds good! Change is as good as a rest!

Take care.

I read it, I responded. I think that maybe the OP's expectations were very high on this Cruise, but don't argue that if the food is bad and the kids are running around, and the people are having "relations" in the Goofy hot Tub, that there isn't something to be upset about.

Wow.:headache:

Kari,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We are so sorry to hear of your loss.

Well, I did a great thing yesterday. I finally took a look at our DVC points thinking i probably needed to be thinking about banking (saving) them for something and I had lots (over 400) to be used this year and then I get next years in October. The wheels started, the point charts came out and we picked a dates for a back to back next year. Nov 7th and Nov 14th which is a St. Croix Eastern and a CC double dip! Sure gets one out of the Disney funk!
