Well, I'm sure she would have preferred to stuff it somewhere else!

We order the Cafe du Monde stuff a couple of times a year - so good!

All three of us tried to explain to her that it wasn't instant coffee like she drinks at home...that this was uber-strong and had to be diluted with milk or it would burn the hair off her chest (figuratively speaking). She wasn't having any of it.

I wish I'd taken a picture of the look on her face when she first tried to drink it ... it put all those vacation pictures from last October to shame. :lmao:

She was mad - it was our fault because we were the ones who'd wanted to have breakfast at Cafe du Monde in the first place. If she'd had her way we would have had normal coffee in a safe and comfortable setting ... like Harrahs. :rotfl:

My mom and Rob's mom know every machine in Harrah's intimately I think.

Next time you're there, a good cajun restaurant (not sure if this would mess with your insides or not) is Mulate's. They have cajun music, dancing, and really good food.:thumbsup2

That's what so great about NOLA...there's such a variety of restaurants. Many people think it is only cajun food, but really you can get good steaks (Commander's Palace), creole food, and even Italian (some places have really good muffellatas).

I think I've told you this before, but the best cajun food is in Lafayette, about 2 hours west of NOLA. Maybe Walt will back me up?

I'll be sure to ask you for some pointers before we head back - don't know if it will be this year or next ... too many things are up in the air right now and there are too many places we want to go. Decisions, decisions ... :confused3

All our food experiences were in the french quarter, except for Commander's Palace. :worship:

Lemme think ... we had jazz brunch at Arnaud's...breakfast at Brennan's...lunch at Commander's Palace (Jay and I had dinner there one night before my parents showed up and then we dragged them to lunch there on a different day because Jon really wanted to go)...dinner at Nola (we're three for three with Emeril so far!) ... we ate at some place in the quarter called the Cajun Shack or something like that - the food wasn't bad but the live music was the bomb! We went back every night (Jay, Jon, and me) just to listen to the Cajun band that was playing!

I know there were some others that we hit up but I can't remember them.

On that note, I'm going to bed to dream of food and music. Have a good evening everyone! :goodvibes

Same here for us. Over the next year or so we'll be getting our WDW fix. We're still trying to catch up from all the time we missed when we lived overseas. Then we'd like to visit the Northeast some time before we move from here in 2011. We'd like to take our kids skiing, too. In October of this year, I'm headed to Savannah with friends. Of course for us, New Orleans is easy to hit when we go home to visit, but we always have our kids and that's ok, but we can't go to some of the restaurants that we want to because it's just too expensive for a family of 5 (my two older kids now eat adult meals--ouch!)

Karen, I made the Giants Boogers tonight and guess what?

<

 I LOVE THEM!!!
I steamed them, sprinkled them with Sea Salt, Cracked Pepper and a couple of spritzes of ICBINB Lite! Absolutely yummy. (I can say that here, just not on Brenda's Damned thread).

Now I can safely say, there isn't one vegetable that I don't like!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Thanks for making me come out of the Booger Vault.
.

WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Nancy eats boogers!

Just remember to ask for lots of big boogers onthe cruise one night and see what turns up on your plate:lmao:

Good morning people:goodvibes

What a lovely way to start the day....

Neil got up at 6am to go to work and I couldnt get back to sleep:rolleyes:
Read til 7.30 and then gave zzzzzzz another go...woke up at 10am:yay: - feel fantastic - first full nights sleep I've had in months:yay:

Ellis is at Grandma's overnight til lunchtime so I just had myself to sort out:cloud9: - 2 big mugs of tea and a bacon buttie (with brown sauce on:goodvibes ) while I catch up on the thread:cloud9:

And its lovely and sunny outside too!

I feel a trip to the big park is in order - Ellis likes to feed the swans and sucks (til the swans get too near and he runs away scared:rotfl: - those things sure do get vicious and peck when you have bread nearby:eek: )

Have a lovely day peeps:goodvibes

This was $15 ... and believe it or not we shared it. ;) I think there was a Citron martini, a blue curacao martini, a toberlone martini (when you care enough to drink the very best!) and a strawberry martini. There's one I can't remember, but it was still tasty.

This was $12 per person and was held in Sessions on "at sea" days. We liked it for the history lesson but not so much for the two gin martinis. GACK! Can someone give me a bucket so that I can spit it out???

I'd like to see if we could customize a martini tasting for the group. In other words, if no one is interested in gin martinis, then let's see if we can put together a tasting of say ... six vodka martinis for the B.O.Bs. It might cost a bit more but everyone might find the gathering more enjoyable (and tasty).

Just a thought ... we've got plenty of time to work it out because DCL won't even discuss it wth anyone for at least another year.

I'm in Brenda...a mixture of both???? as I've never tried gin based or vodka based ones.

Yes, fantasia is the correct answer!

Oh well...google was wrong. They said Silly Symphonies.

First Off, I can't believe that I actually slept in until nearly 7:30 this morning, secondly, I'd like to wish everyone a happy Sunday morning...........:wave2:

Now you see why I want Rob to work for Disney when he retires from his current job---for the record, 40 months away.:thumbsup2

IF all goes according to plan, I will be retiring in about 26 months, then it's Florida bound for us!!!

Where will you call home after Rob retires Paige? I'm guessing somewhere in LA???:wizard:

Well hey there Mr Planky the first....did you know you have quite a Planky following?

Will the REAL Planky be cruising this time or will it be the imposter again:lmao:

I think there may be a few imposters on BOB. :cool2:

Me too Karen, me too!! I actually slept 9 1/2 hours last night! That's almost twice as much as I'm used to.:dance3:

I'll have to find a picture of Tony when he was 2 years old. We were in St Petes Beach and a bird grabbed a sandwich right out of his hand. I was taking a picture of him at the time when this bird swopped right in and snagged it. Poor kid cried for 15 minutes.

Good morning Andy! Love the greeting.

IF all goes according to plan, I will be retiring in about 26 months, then it's Florida bound for us!!!

I'd love to retire somewhere a little warmer and closer to FL. I'm not much of a heat and humidity girl, and I think I'd be miserble in FL, but further south would be nice. I won't leave my family behind though. :confused3

I found a picture of Tony's scene from "The Birds" and it appears I snapped the picture after another bird swipped the sandwich and bird number 2 was coming in for more. The look on his little face explains it all. :guilty:

Notice how blurry he was compared to the rest of the picture? That kid was M O V I N G!!

Ahhhhhh:cutie:

I remember being on Clearwater beach on our honeymoon - geez some of those birds are HUGE!:scared1:

The bar staff used to put snacks on the pool bar - the herons etc used to swoop in and attack:scared: - and then find my sunlounger and poop all over my towel:rolleyes: - Never Neils.. or the person next to me....always mine:rolleyes: - Neil used to find it hysterical:rotfl2: - the one time it landed within an inch of my head:scared: :scared: - I think my face was probably very similar to Tony's:rotfl:

Good news on the sleep Nancy - maybe we should call today SLEEPY SUNDAY! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
