French is such a lovely language though. Germans always sound like we're shouting at each other. :rotfl2:

Yeah, but I'm sitting here in my nice cozy house without pay! :scared1:

That stinks, they didn't close your office? What about not safe to drive on those roads....:upsidedow

Guten morgan Shelley. Sprechen zie Deutsch? I used to be very fluent in German but since I haven't had to use it much lately, I'm afraid I've forgotten some. I actually spoke German only until I was 5 years old because my parents couldn't speak English. We still speak to each other in German when we don't want anyone else to understand what we're saying. :rotfl2:

Well, this Wisconsinite is safe and sound in her home. I took a snow day because frankly, I don't like my job enough to risk the drive out to it. The last I heard, we are expecting up to 12-15 inches of snow today, more if there is Snow Thunder. The forecast does change as you turn the channel though. :goodvibes

I used to. My fathers side of the family is German. My Oma and Opa are gone now so we don't sprechen much anymore. I'm trying to teach Woody as his family is german. I am in Paige's boat-I understand a lot more then I can speak. But we always stop in to the German pavillion at Epcot and visit. I know when I walk out they are all laughing at me! A redheaded irish looking girl trying to butcher, I mean speak German. :lmao: My oma used to tell me I got the best of both worlds being Irish/German- I am one mean drunk! (this only happens if you take my beer or take my seat at the bar! ;) )

Thunder Snow!!! You should alert Brenda! ;)

tschus!

We have a saying over here about football "Funny Old game ain't it?"....:rotfl2:

Chris, you're such a rebel! :stir:

Half of the employees are on commission only, the others are part time/flex hours, one on salary, and me. I'm the only person they would have to pay if they closed the office so to avoid that pittance they give me, they just decided that the office is NEVER closed. :headache:

Hoping our Tag Captains choose to have us tag with small, light items. (Hint-hint).

Small and light - got it:thumbsup2

I know - that thread is getting so, um, feisty! I wonder if the mods will lock it? Someone just posted what their "tacky" door looked like that they worked really hard on with their kid.

I thoguht the door looked lovely - I'll be getting Ellis to design some of ours next time.

I don't know if I've even kept track of who's playing, have you? I will do the spreadsheet and computer part though!

Yes - I've got a list of who said they'd like to play

Cass is organizing a trick or treat - do you do that in the UK for Halloween? You should sign Ellis up - I reminded Cass about his allergy.

Ahhhh, thanks Jen for thinking of Ellis - I did see it but I didnt put his name down cos I thought it would be a hastle for everyone with the nut thing:rolleyes:

Sure, that's easy! Nancy, you can all tag us with Disney dollars! About $50 will do it, right Karen?:dance3:

Oh yeah!!!!!!!

I agree with you on door signs...makes it more personal and I love walking past reading all the signs on the doors.

I didn't have any pancakes either.

Anyone given anything up for lent?

I'm trying to give up wine:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

My kids call my parents Oma and Opa too. :) I shy away from speaking the language myself Shelley as I hate to sound stupid when I make mistakes. A few years ago we bought a Zapf doll at the German pavillion for Kristin (our DD, now 23) and the lady who created the dolls was there from Germany. DS (Tony,27) told her that I speak German and I was talked into having a conversation with her. Chuck got it all on tape and played it back for my folks and ever since then they made me speak German to them whenever possible. I tried telling them that I forgot how but when it's caught on tape, there's no getting out of it. :confused3

You have to sign him up! I was brainstorming with a friend of mine who has a daughter w/ a peanut allergy to see what we could bring! I am one of those weird people who like to hand out healthy snacks like gummy fruit chews or stickers and little prizes. You just can't be too careful nowadays That is how they found about about Allysa's allergy. She has a Snickers bar and stopped breathing! Now she gets a bag of stickers and prizes from us. No candy.

BTW- how can I sign up for the yahoo member site? I have a yahoo acct already.

Look at all the exercise you got today, and without even going to the gym:rotfl:

Busted!!! :lmao: I have to tell you a funny story about what happened a few years ago in Epcot. I was there with some friends if mine and it was crazy hot that day so I wore a sundress. We were walking around one for the little shops in Germany and a young man behind the counter made a lude comment-something to the effect of getting me out of the dress! So I turned around to him and politely said "Not a chance". He about fell on the floor! I guess he assumed no one would understand him. We still laugh about that to this day!

I saw PHC on the closure list. Is that not who owns the hospital now? Or is it just the med centers they closed? But if you have to be there for emergencies, guess it doesn't matter.

Safe travels. It looks ugly out there.

I'm actually going out to do the drive at about 9. There is a break in the heavy snow around then, before the next batch moves in. I heard it is wet and heavy so it will be a couple of clearings.

We actually just finished round one of snow removal about 30 min. ago., definitely wet and heavy. Thank goodness for the snow blower!

Yep PHC is the corporation but it is just the Medical Centers that are closed, the hospital always has to be staffed. When I had talked to my supervisor earlier she said that some of the outpatients were calling and cancelling. We need to be there for whatever outpatients don't cancel and for the inpatients and emergency room patients. I am the second shift tech today and we only have one second shift tech so I have to go in and then when I am done working my shift tonight at 10 I am on-call for any emergencies between 10pm and 7am so I will just sleep overnight at the hospital tonight.

I agree, sign him up! It will be really fun! You wouldn't want him to miss out.

I personally like the fruit snacks/stickers idea too!
