Lynn Sorry for your plumbing issues. Sometimes life just gets sucky.

Mona It is unacceptable for you to have to move from the room you have been in for so long. Plus the roommate is ordering you out of the room? No way. Hopefully you can recover enough soon to get back home. This place is awful.

Good afternoon. I have been busy since 5:30 this morning when I got up. I had a hair appt and a great chat with my hair dresser. She can make me feel better and make me look a little better! We discussed my hair issues and as usual, she had great advice and compassion. I went to Wegman's, Home Sense to look for a planter stand, and then Michael's to just scout out things for possible holiday gifts. My oldest DGD is getting hard to buy gifts for. She is 10. I am going to have to ask Mom and Dad about ideas. I came back to the condo and had lunch after doing some misc tasks. Next up is cleaning the stainless in the kitchen. Yesterday the water treatment company sales person did not show up for our appt. I texted him after 15 minutes and he said he was sorry for the confusion, that I was on for Monday from 2-4. I know that is not correct as I have salt therapy at 2 Monday and would not make another appt. He told me Fri Sept 5 from 12-2 when we talked and specifically told me why the appt took 2 hours. I suspect after we got off the phone when making the appt he did not put it in system and someone else got it. I made another appt with him for the end of the month but in the mean time I am going to talk with another company. The company he works for has rave reviews on line and my friend who is using them in her area got top notch treatment. I am not impressed. Maybe their installers and customer service are really good but this sales person is not. I feel like things are not going great lately and it is getting to be a bit much. I have to have faith that it will get better!

Have a nice Saturday.

🐣💛to all of you dear Quacker family. Just never, ever, forget God loves and is with you. He Who is Love always wins. Thank you all for everything always.

My room situation is the same. Please know my roommate is not able to get up on her own. I am safe. Her boyfriend is in a wheelchair. He is smart enough not to try anything. Social services is abominable. B, one of the social workers who joined C in being truly reprehensible yesterday was so today and with my Dad.

I am now being offered 2 rooms. The same one as from the beginning 219 (2 bed). And 210 which is a three bed room near it. 210 is almost worse because it is 3 bed it would be just as hard if not harder for me plus I would be in the bed by the front door.

Tomorrow I will very clearly and concisely with legal documentation from CA nursing home resident rights websites create two lists. The first all about my roommate and the second the other situation. God reminded me how Magnificent of course always with me He is. His Will will be done always this afternoon. Divine reassurance there is nothing like it!

Hugs to all.

Mona I am sorry you are going through this. I hope things work out in a better way.

Good morning. It is raining out now. We had some wild weather yesterday. We had a tornado warning in my area with the alert to seek shelter in the basement or an interior room. A tornado did touch down briefly about 3 towns over. There were torrential downpours and at one point was so windy. Kenny was at a soccer game with Ethan about a half hour away. He called on his way home to ask if I was in the basement. Nope, interior bathroom. HIs fiance was in the basement at their house with the dog and cat. He was on 495 and the torrential downpours were just getting to where he was. He did get home safely. My duplex neighbor and I were texting back and forth making sure we were OK and if we needed anything. We texted for a while for company. I am fortunate to have her as a close neighbor. Hopefully today is not as eventful. I plan on going to the gym to walk on the treadmill and then I have a flu shot scheduled. I like to get that before my Disney trip. Then maybe Kohls for just a stroll around the store. Then I am planning my clothes for Disney.

Have a nice Sunday.

Glad you are OK, @Snowysmom! We only had the rainstorm here, not the tornado warning.

Mona, I really hope your therapy is helping and you can just go home soon!

Good luck with the plumbing issue, Lynn! I have an old dishpan under my sink because we've also had issues in the past.

Yesterday I went to a Farmers Marker / Craft Fair nearby and it was really fun - busier than I expected and nice to get out and walk around in the sunshine for a while before the storms rolled in. I bought a couple little crafty things and some squash.

Today I plan to walk on the treadmill, work on some computer stuff, and watch a couple more episodes of Wednesday with DH.

Good sunny morning. 74 for a high again today. We badly need rain and there's none in the forecast. Yikes to a tornado that close @Snowysmom

@PollyannaMom I finished up the rest of the new episodes of Wednesday on Friday. It's not something I thought I would like, but once I started watching, I was hooked.

I fall cleaned my bedroom yesterday. Windows, blinds, curtains, stripped the bed and washed everything. Dusted and vacuumed, and cleaned the ceiling fan and put WD40 on it. One room down, starting on the guest room today. I'll get at least half the house done before leaving on vacation. I'm glad we didn't stick with our original date, or we'd be there now, with that hurricane too close for comfort.

Have a good day everyone

Behind a bit and probably not going to catch up! Did read this page.

Plumbing problems - son had to replace a wax ring in the primary bath yesterday at his house. I'm sure before that he didn't even know what a wax ring was. Fortunately for him his father in law lives about 2 streets away. FiL led him through it and son did the job. He sent me pics of his homeowner accomplishment and declared his FiL annoying. I'll clear him up in person on that one, because here just walking in the house a plumber would start at about $99 (I called for one for Tuesday for nonemergency work). And they don't usually leave before they get to about $300. My small weekend leak a few months back cost me over $500.

The annoying issue was telling him how to do the job. Son does get easily irritated but can hold it in. Flip side if he knew what the solution was I know he would youtube it and get it done also.

Washed dog beds yesterday and put them on the deck to dry in the hot sun. Then went to bed forgetting they were out there. It rained, and now they are soaked again. I may have to take them in and spin them.

Dropped in on DD for a bit.

Got up and cleaned the kitchen. Went to bed too early and younger DD got loose in there.

Plumber coming Tuesday to take a look at my old water heater. I think it's time has arrived.

Good morning. It is 51 now with temps heading to around 70. Nice temps. Yesterday Kenny came by to change the batteries in my smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Yesterday they all went off screeching for a minute or so. That has happened a couple of times before. Other people in the complex have had that happen too. Kenny's do that one in a while. It is scary and annoying. I was going to ask him to change them next month as it would have been a year. If it happens again I am going to ask him to change out the one that always starts the whole thing. I got my flu shot yesterday to have it before I head to Disney.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Match your 51 degrees but heading to 75 mid afternoon.

We all seem to have similar issues here on the same approximate schedule. My smoke detector acted up just recently also.

As far as the Carbon Monoxide detector, mine is a plug in module provided by my HVAC installer when I got new furnace and air unit about 5 years ago. It has remained working and doesn't jolt me out of bed.

Tomorrow is my water heater appointment. Today I have to tidy up that area. I rarely go down there and it collects dust and spider webs.

Also have to go pay my property taxes. Seems the only way to avoid a fee is to drive there or mail them to an out of state processor. It's not far so I'll make the drive. The last few years I paid with a 'new' credit card online to get a signup bonus which made the fee less prohibitive and I got something extra for using a card. This year I am getting a new card also but not using it for this as I have generic expenses that will work better at the moment. Insurances, water heater, gymnastics all add up fast! Plus the almost $400 electric bills this year. I may have to move to Greenland or Iceland in summer and fly south for winter. Just kidding of course.

Good morning. I'll beat both of you with low temps. We got down to 44 overnight, heading for 74 today. Sure feels brisk. I had to put slippers and a sweater on when I got up. Too early for this.

I already cleared out under the sink so when they call and say they're on the way, I'll put the cats in my bedroom so they don't freak out or try to get into the cellar. Fingers crossed that they fix the problem this time. It's a pain trying to wash dishes and rinse them. I've been throwing the dish water out in the yard, since if I put it down the drain it's going to take forever to go down.

Fall cleaning the master bath today. If I move my butt, I might get the whole house done before I leave for HI.

Have a good day

Good morning everyone. Thank you always for all your care. God just brightened my early morning by reminding me of His love and will for me when He had me pass by a sweet fellow resident named J. J is actually one of two J's who always cheers me on when he sees me walking with my friend and therapist, S. His response to my sharing that I will be walking with S later this morning was a big smile as he clapped his hands. God Bless J. So sweet :)

I will be calling the ombudsman assigned to this facility later. I am praying she does come tomorrow. I sure need her advocacy help.

Anyway, Monday hug and joy to all.

Plumbing issue is solved. If the guys 2 weeks ago had used the snake on the clean out for the sink that's in the cellar, the second call could have been avoided. He hit something in the pipe when he snaked it, no idea what because it pushed it out into the sewer, but when he pulled the snake back, there was nothing on it. He also found out that the other guy had knocked the pipe loose and he had to reglue the thing that hooks 2 of them together. Then he found a leak under the sink, the thing you put the strainer into had rusted and the gasket was shot. Luckily he had one on his truck and now everything is fixed. The water drains like a whirlpool, I haven't heard it go down to fast in a long time. They were going to talk to the owner, telling him that the other guys should have done what they did today, and they're pretty sure he's going to give me a discount on todays call. If not, they were here for an hour and 15 min, making it 1 1/2 hours and another $180 on top of the $180 I already paid. These guys were so much nicer and a plus was that the younger guy who did all the work, was really nice looking, lol

Mona J sounds like a kind person. Glad he is there to cheer you on. I hope you get a good resolution to your issues.

Lynn Glad your plumbing problems are fixed. I hope you do get a discount for the second visit. Happy planning for your trip later this month.

Dazedx3 Thinking of you and your family.

Good morning. It is 47 here now with temps heading to 70. There are a few trees that have started to turn color. I am getting impatient to buy the lightning lane passes tomorrow and really plan the days on our trip. I have to do it 2 steps since Jeff can't buy is LL passes until Friday. I want to get the kids and Kenny the rides they want as well as get the ones I want. It is like putting together a puzzle and hoping it all comes out correctly. I did tell Kenny I am really just going to go with the flow on this trip, what we do we do and what we don't we are all coming back in 2 years. Since I am most likely going back next year myself I can forgo a couple of rides and shows for what the kids and grandkids want.

Have a good day.

Good chilly morning. 42 degrees here going to 74. I think we're stuck on the same daily temps for another couple of days. Sure is chilly, had to close the windows halfway last night and put another blanket on the bed.

Summer texted me last night that she had been having a flare up for the last 2 days. She said the beach trip was terrible. They used her as a babysitter, and left their hotel rooms a mess (she was in a different hotel). She even did Walmart deliveries while down there so she wouldn't be at the hotel when they wanted her to watch the babies. She said she will never do that again, that she gave that one couple a 'free vacation' because she was never able to do it before. No idea who 'that couple' was, or why she thought she should give them a free vacation. When she told me she came home to find the water shut off again, I lost it on her. I told her she had no business going to the beach knowing that she had bills that were past due. So now she has to pay the $100 reconnect fee (again), plus the past due amount of $200+. Does that make sense to anyone in any way? And today she has to make the long drive to pick up her husband again. I've given up, I can't get anything through her head.

I'm awake early because I fell asleep early. I was so worried about that plumbing issue that I didn't sleep much the night before. I had visions of them having to jackhammer through the inside foundation part to get at the pipes. Thankful that didn't happen. It was nice to be able to wash dishes last night and actually be able to let the dishwater go down the sink.

Today is Fall cleaning on both bathrooms, I'm making good headway. Only have dining room, living room, and kitchen to do after that.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning dear friends. Thank God, I had peace last night in my own room for the first time in a week. R was moved out yesterday evening! I have the room to myself still right now. I slept in my bed all night. A miracle. I am hopeful this time my new roommate will be someone permanent who like C, who moved into assisted living, truly is a non smoking, quiet, respectful fit. I just want peace!

I am keeping in prayer another situation that has the blessing of finally once and for all being resolved in the best possible way today. That really determines what happens next. Meantime despite only 3 hours of sleep on Sunday night, I did exercises yesterday and worked on balance with two therapists as well. I am blessed.

I will God willing have a very wonderful update later. Tuesday joy to all.
