Well, they just closed Janesville schools - the daycare will be closed. They will close when the school system does.

On days like this I really wish I could work from home. I could actually do at least 75% of my job from home if I was set up to do it.

We didn't get a ton of snow, but we're supposed to get more today. :scared1:

Morning Jen,i tried not to....:rolleyes1

Us?,no way,we have enough to worry about without worrying about weather our sign measures up or not but each to their own we say so if making a sign is your thing (and saw some fantastic ones last time)go for it and sod the rest of them i say...Let's not open up the debate about our pathetic attempt at DIS-tag either please....:rolleyes1

A tip for you "Don't have one of them signs on your door that people can write things on".....You know who you are Missy....:snooty:

That's crazy that the daycare closes when the school closes. They need to be open to commodate people that have to work, but need to have a place for there kids. When my kids were in daycare, I can remember only 1 time that they closed.
Have fun on your snow day.:)

Through Greensboro, NC.

Wilmington, DE to Greensboro, NC to St. Augustine, FL

St. Augustine is only about 1 to 1and 1/2 hour drive to our place in Florida and Orlando is about a 45 minute drive, so not much difference there. I would be renting a car for the few days anyhow. The only thing that makes me a little nervous is the 25 minute layover coming home. If we miss our connecting flight that could cause a problem getting back home before Angelina arrives home from her Chicago trip. But sure can't beat the price.

I would have to connect twice, because it only gave me the choice of Milwaukee to Ohio. So then I would have to look OH to NC & NC to FL.
You can't beat the price, that would be nice for a quick trip for you.

I remember once, DS's daycare closed due to weather, but Suz' office did not.

The problem - the daycare is owned/run by her company. So the employees who work in the daycare got to go home, but the ones who worked in the offices had to leave work because there was no care for the kids. Needless to say, that was the last time that ever happened and now the daycare has to follow the rules of the corporate office (which never closes down anyways).

The daycare center that Angelina went to also followed the school district closing. So we knew ahead of time, if the school district was announced as closed, we didn't need to call the daycare center because we knew they were also closed. The daycare also closed the week between Christmas and New Years.

I've got to get out the door, see y'all later..............:wave2:

Gee, I was thinking about having a dry-erase board this time around - maybe I shouldn't? Who knows what these BOBers will write!

I actually did like your DIStag - I think it's neat to have things from "foreign" places :)

I, too, was impressed and amazed at all the neat things that arrived at our cabin...but that doesn't mean I didn't appreciate every single DIStag item we received.

Wait, I missed out on this one!

Hi everyone!

Pete is staying home with Thomas today, since he works in Beloit (20+ minute commute on the interstate) and I work about 5 minutes from home (in town).

Our school system had the reputation of being the last ones to close (ie never) but that seems to have changed. This is at least the 3rd snow day this school year. So , the daycare probably thought they were pretty safe with their policy! Plus, they run before/after school and preschool programs, so I suppose that has an effect also.

Edited to add - this could have been an FO!

Our daycare does not close for the week of Christmas - they're open until noon Christmas Eve day and closed Christmas day. The only holiday they are closed that I work is the day after Thanksgiving, but Pete now gets that day off (he got a new job a couple years ago).

Hi folks

Strange day for me today. Got soaked this morning taking Ellis to school- black skies and rain like bullets, decided to go to the gym,...car park half full of trucks delivering the new equipment so people are just driving round and round - I gave up and came home.....drove home in glorious sunshine:confused3 - wierd weather again. I've just been gardening for the last two hours digging and then up a ladder cutting back ivy. I got my workout:thumbsup2

Jen - couldnt help myself when I saw the Walt suite comment:rotfl2:

I just heard yesterday that United Airlines is implementing a new policy whereas all passengers are allowed only one piece of checked luggage or pay $25.00/each extra piece for each way. That means for us, we'd have to pay $150.00 (for our three "extra" pieces). This is in addition to paying the $50.00 on each piece of luggage which is over 50 pounds.

We don't fly United, but I'll bet it's only a matter of time until the rest follow suit.

Hoping our Tag Captains choose to have us tag with small, light items. :rolleyes1 (Hint-hint).

Gardening is definitely a workout! My gym is closed today too due to weather, so I couldn't go. I will have to do something at home tonight.

I know - that thread is getting so, um, feisty! I wonder if the mods will lock it? Someone just posted what their "tacky" door looked like that they worked really hard on with their kid.

I don't know if I've even kept track of who's playing, have you? I will do the spreadsheet and computer part though!

Cass is organizing a trick or treat - do you do that in the UK for Halloween? You should sign Ellis up - I reminded Cass about his allergy.

Sure, that's easy! Nancy, you can all tag us with Disney dollars! About $50 will do it, right Karen?:dance3:

Guten Morgen mine Damen und Herren! Jus wanted to pop in and see if everyone is ok. I hope our friends out in WI are safe! We thought about y'all last night! Andy are you getting rain today in NJ? We are supposed to get dumped on by this afternoon. I was supposed to start my 10K training today but it looks like we may bag it if it rains too hard. I am off to fight a loosing battle with Anthem. I will check in later as I feel we will have some lively chats today with so many BOBers home. Not that I'm jeolous or anything! :headache:

Just a side note- It's 71 here! :sunny:

I saw this too. I think it is ridiculous! If everyone has only one piece of luggage there will be a lot more space in the cargo area. I wonder if they're trying to make space for more seats? As stupid as that sounds, it's the only thing that makes sense--money is always the bottom line. I surely have never heard of a plane crashing because it was too full of luggage.:lmao:

Cass-Thanks for putting up the door signs on the BOB site! It was thoughtful of you to add a blank one for the rest of us. I love the other design too!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Goodmorning everyone  This is my first post on the new thread! Rach told me about the new thread the other day but I haven't had a chance to get here before this. I am hoping to get caught up a bit before we have to go out and shovel/snow blow the driveway before I need to head in to work this afternoon. I still haven't finished reading all of the other thread yet either.
