10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat - Thread #1

It's still snowing lightly, but the blowing of the snow that already fell is the worst. The forecast last night said we could get about 12 inches. It hard to tell exactly what we got, because the drifts are huge.

Mac is still fighting this virus. It will not go away. We are on week 6 of it for her. For me it goes away and comes back and goes away. Today it seems to be gone. So I have decided that this morning is a pj morning for her and I and I will try to get some little things done around the house that I need to do before my parents come over tomorrow.

Things have been really tough around here the past week. Mac and I have had to put up with a lot of stuff that we shouldn't have to so of course what do I do. I went shopping with a girl friend Friday night and bought Mac more x-mas gifts from me just to try to make up for things. So now I have more wrapping to do. I can not do it until Scott gets up and watches her for me.

I might have missed this conversation because I have not been reading back. But does anyone have traditions with their stockings.

This is mine for Mac. The year she was born I got a read and white stocking and painted her name on th white part of the stocking. Then every year until she turns 18 I sew a silver bell off of the white part. So when I give it to her for Christmas of her 18th year there will be 18 silver bells on it.

How about ornaments. Every year we let the kids get a new one. So again when the kids are 18 they should have 18 or more of them to take with them for their own tree.

I just reached adulthood (I think) I decided it was time to invest in my companies 401K. I have no idea about these things and they tend to scare me so I have put it off for a long time. So I got all the information and called my father to talk to him about it. He gave me his advice and that of his people and away I went. This might be fun checking on it every so often. It won't start for another 2 pay periods but hey whatever works, right?

we are down here visiting cassie in the heart of cinn bengal country and i have all my clev browns stuff on. hope i dont get beat up.

went to bed last nite it was about 60 degrees. woke up to high winds and its about 40 now and falling.
hope we dont get snowed in. we are heading back up north right after the game.

I was just on mapquest, you are only about 410 miles from me, just a quick drive around the corner...........

The way my luck goes, that weekend we would have the blizzard of the century around here...........

we will send a limo for you.

He is doing ok. Not the best but he is doing better then I thought he would be.

At work now he is filling in a supervisor, which means he goes in 30 minutes early every night, and is supposed to stay 15 minutes later in the mornings. That 15 minutes causes issues with him and Kelsey because then she does not see him in the mornings.

He has lost alot of sleep this week because of Kelsey and the stunts that she has been pulling.

Then he found out that his mother (that he has not really spoken to in 3 years) almost died a few weeks ago. The kids informed him. So he has been in contact with her at the hospital and then of course that brought his mother out of the wood work (has not spoken to her in about 3 years also) She started going off on him about me and the kids again and part way through he found out that his grandfather had a stroke sometime ago and is now 90% blind in one eye.

So needless to say this week has been rough on him. But he is doing great. He kepts talking about that one night at Rockin Bar D and how much fun it was and how he wishes he could be back there.

We are in the middle of a BIG snowstorm, blizzard like conditions through the night, 1-2 inches of snow falling per hour, guess I'll wake to alot of snow. It's just beautiful outside right now.

I would gladly take it off everybody's hands. I love the snow. And if it meant being snowed in I would like that even more. But it would have to happen on a day that Scott is home, and Kelsey and Kyle are with their mom. They would drive us nuts being snowed in so we will let them drive their mom nuts.

I just had to get on and tell everyone that I just finished my scrapbook from the trip. I am so excited this was my first one and it is now done. Kind of sad at the same time but I have others I can work on.
