Oh yeah I try to catch up on what I miss on Soap Net's Sunday Nights in Salem. I am also a Young and the Restless fan, lately more of that than Days. Days storylines are driving me crazy lately. :headache:

My fave character other than Mickey is....wait for it....you''ll never guess.....

TIMON!!!

My least fave is Minnie because she holds Mickey back ::yes::

Me no likey that little hussy! :lmao:

I TOTALLY agree! I have called Minnie the S1ut for years! I softened a little when DD was little, but I still know it!:thumbsup2

Thank you so much everyone!!! I am working on him!! He hasn't said no, so.....:wizard:

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

What do I need to do to convince the man that the two of you can't go wrong cruising with us???

You wanna read my 2005 Eastern trippie? It's not very good (I was still rusty) but it will give him an idea of all the things (printable and not) that two crazy adults without children can do on the Magic.

You can join us for elevator tag! :rotfl2:

Hello Shelley! Nice to meet you. I'm Jen, and this will be my second cruise ever, and second DCL cruise.

I don't have a lot of advice about the $$$ portion, but I can share my experience about our cruise that may help convince your DH. Hopefully someone else can talk about DVC points and the cruise...

I started posting on the DIS about July 2007, and joined the cruise thread for my October 2007 cruise. By chatting on the thread I started to get to know fellow cruisers, and when we got to port it was so exciting to meet all my "DIS" friends! By the end of the cruise I was running into friends all over the ship, not strangers! This is a super nice bunch of people.

There will be kids, but there are also adult only areas of the ship - one night DH and I practically had Quiet Cove pool to ourselves (of course, it was drizzling, but we were in the hot tub, which has a roof, and drinks in our hands!) My DH was not certain about a cruise either, but halfway through the week I had already talked him into rebooking!

Please let us know if you have any other questions...and don't be intimidated by all our chatter. We're just a talkative bunch....

please join us!! we are a fun bunch.:wizard:
dont worry about dining with strangers.(no one is stranger than me).
hop on the dis once in a while and get to know everyone.
tell him the babes on deck 10 are to die for.:cloud9:

Hi Shelley...my name is Heather and my DH is Rick. We don't have kids (empty nesters), and we love disney cruising. You don't see the kids...they're all in the clubs. You don't have to have a veranda, as you're not in your cabin long enough. There is so much for adults to do without kids. So there is no excuse.

Hi Shelley. I'm Paige and my DH is Rob. We've cruised with DCL twice before with the kids and are going without them this go around. There's no way we would've booked if we thought it would be a "families with kids only" type of vacation. Actually there are quite a few of us on this thread that are going without children.:thumbsup2

Hi Shelley

My hubby was exactly the same last October - he agreed to cruise just for me - wasnt interested at all, thought he'd feel trapped on the "boat" and only went to shut me up....................

By day 2 he was already talking about rebooking:lmao: - I kid you not - he absolutely loved it. We only had a cat 11 to keep down the cost - we were barely in the room anyway and it was fine for our needs. We took on a rolling cooler full of wine and beer.

I think the best part of the cruise (and this is the part where I get all mushy) is the group of friends we made. This is such a fab bunch of people. We ended up linking reservations with a whole bunch of people - we had the corner of the dining room all to ourselves and it was fabulous- hence we're all doing it again:cool1: We love WDW and Disneyland, but I dont think anything can prepare you for just how brilliant the cruise is.

It would be fun to have you join us:goodvibes - get persuading that hubby of yours:thumbsup2

My favorite is Goofy.

My least favorite is technically not a Disney character: Winnie the Pooh.

Apart from the obvious scatalogical implications of a character whose name includes the word "pooh," I have borne the poopy one a grudge ever since he and his dingleberry gang displaced Mr. Toad and his Wild Ride. :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I believe I have soiled myself once again reading one of your posts B. Stop that!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I TOTALLY agree! I have called Minnie the S1ut for years! I softened a little when DD was little, but I still know it!:thumbsup2

I have a video of Rob and I at Chef Mickey's, Minnie is at our table and giving Rob LOADS of attention and there I am behind her making faces at her :lmao: I didn't even realize that my friend was over at the dessert buffet taping me :rotfl2:

When my little princess met Minnie for the first time this past October, she totally shunned her :lmao: I was like "That's my GIRL!!!" :rolleyes1 She eventually came around and started to play with her nose. :rolleyes1

When she was a baby, my siblings and friends kept buying her baby clothes with Minnie on them just to pee me off :sad2:

I agree about the story lines. I haven't watched as much lately due to a loss of interest. It's my grandmother's favorite and it gives us something to talk about. We've watched for years.

I've always been a Hope and Bo fan, but lately Hope is looking rough. I can't figure out what it is . . . too skinny, too many lip injections, bad surgery?

Kayla used to be my favorite and I still like her character even though it's minor these days.

Favorite characters:

DH: Uncle Scrooge (sp?) and Donald

DS: Lightning McQueen (this week)

DD: Ariel

Mine: Other than Mickey, of course, that's difficult. I like so many: Jiminy Cricket, Mulan, Simba.

Minnie is my least favorite, as you've probably read.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hello Kruisers! I followed Brenda over here because we (meaning I) am interested on going on this cruise. Only one problem- DH doesn't want to cruise. He is scared of the idea of being "trapped" on a boat with a bunch of strangers, having to dine with said strangers, and generally being "taken for a ride every time I want a beer". And the thought of a "Disney" cruise has his head filled with screaming children and oblivious parents. He is also shocked at the price (I priced out a veranda room ;) ) We are DVC members and AP holders so all we really pay for in Florida is airfare and meals. He really doesn't get the point that this would be the same cost as staying at WDW at a deluxe resort and having the meal plan. Please, please, please help!!! Everyone here seems so wonderful and I know we would have an amazing time! Any tibits I can plant in his brain would be very much appreciated!

Thanks a million!!

Shelley

Hi Shelley, I'm just catching up here tonight (some of these people really talk a lot:rotfl2: ) and I hope to put your mind at ease.

My DH (Chuck) and I (Nancy) cruised without our kids in 05 (that's when we met Brenda :thumbsup2 ). There are so many things to do, you'll never get bored.

As for eating with strangers, we'd like to take care of that too. Just post away here and before you know it, you'll have tons of new friends.

There are so many areas of the ship that don't allow our littlest friends too. That's where you'll find many of us. Sleeping in the Rainforest, drowning in mochaccinos at the Cove Cafe, and witnessing one of our own dressed up as a woman at Rocking D Bar. :rotfl2:

We took our kids 27,26,25,& 23 along last October and they had the time of their lives.

Some awesome pictures have been posted by those who have already cruised the Eastern. If it'll help, we'll repost some for you.:)

Hope to see you here more often and also hope you become our newest B.O.B!!:flower3:

Sorry Karen, I meant to do this awhile ago...

Thank you so much everyone!!! I am working on him!! He hasn't said no, so.....:wizard:

I have booked both times with my sister and told DH later. He sort of was expecting it and didn't mind too much when I figured out how to work most of the expense into my end of the checkbook.;)

He now tells people that the first cruise was the best vacation he's ever been on and is trying to get people to go with us this time. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi Shelley,

I echo what everyone else is saying. Disney is really good for adults too! They have tons of places just for the big kids and they actually enforce it unlike some other cruise lines. Just stay clear of deck 5 mid-ship and early dinner and you will be thinking "Are there any kids ON this ship??" :lmao:

OMG Cass! Those are the best ones yet!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc I can't pick a favorite. It's between "pondering life", "I wanna smack you" and "Miss Bubbles". Then again "Flash Face" and "Snowbound with Kira" are also cute, cute, cute!

Hmmmmm, picking a favorite....ooooooh, the pressure, of a favorite...(recognize anything?) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
