So I just got off the phone with Midwest, looking to move our FF mile tickets to a different date, something they use to let you do for free up to a year in advance, and was told it is $50 now per ticket.

Guess I won't be looking at switching from MW to AirTran for the outbound flight to CA for the Repo cruise.

AT is only about $120 per ticket. I used 15,000 miles for each one way to get there. If I add $50, that's $170. Still a good deal, but now I'd be over the 1% floor I try to get over when using FF miles.

MW was $241 when we booked and is now around $420. If it wasn't such a big trip, I would have waited to see what AT had. Plus, I don't recall if AT was flying non-stop to LA from MKE at that time. If not, MW was the ONLY carrier that did.

Oh well, I at least checked.

This is the item I just won, my birthday is getting mighty expensive this year.......... ;)

I've got to stay away from eBay for awhile.........:lmao:

Very nice.

Maybe with all these eBay purchases for your b-day, you should have booked a Wonder cruise instead.

At one point, I checked into buying Disney stock (several years) ago and I was told that I had go through a stock broker whose fee would be more than the share of stock since I didn't "have" a broker. Is this true?

I did buy one share of stock from oneshare.com.
There was a fee of about $35 or $40, like Jeff is saying, I can't remember exactly..... but the cool thing is that you get an actual piece of paper that you can frame! If you bought stock through brokers I'm not sure that you can actually get the stock certificate.

So I bought one! It's very cool.
I bought my son one of Starbucks when he was about 12, he loved it!

Also I have purchased mulitiple shares a little bit at a time through sharebuilder.com. I don't have very much money in there but it is a place that poor people can go and buy stock a little bit at a time with very minimal fees. They don't issue paper certificates though.

I know, tell me about it.........:lmao:

I think I might have to work some overtime to pay for some of these latest purchases........

Does anybody know of a good website where I can find something that I bought in the park but broke on the way home. It is a large Mickey parts dog dish, and I bought it summer 2006..........I don't think they have them in the parks anymore. I had bought 2 of them for food and water, but only one survived the plane ride.:sad2:

Hey, Jeff, are y'all doing WDW this summer, too?

No, but we are doing DL prior to the Repo cruise.

That vacation will be a total of 18 nights, so we aren't really planning anything else.

Next summer we'll do something in the beginning of summer. DS has off for 2 weeks prior to the summer camps starting. Although, if we go to WDW, I wouldn't mind the 3rd week of August. They usually have the free dining plan at that time.

Andy, can you find that one on eBay?

I'd love to take advantage of the free dining, but it interferes with school. It's not so bad for my little guy, but the big kids can't really miss school without it being a major pain.:headache:
We are doing 2 weeks this July, then 10 days at Christmas, then 7-10 days next June. We want to get AP's so we will make the most of them. Then we plan to take 2010 off--that will kill me!

MNSSHP tickets for Halloween Night this year are already sold out

Wow, better make sure next year that we buy them as soon as they are on sale ::yes::

When does school start in your area?

I'd have to look at the other boards because I'm not sure how early into August they're offering it. It is usually after the 15th because the FL kids are back in school.

No doubt about that.

We'll have to all be on watch for this one and buy them on DAY ONE!

Wonder what their limit is for that night. The party is usually 25,000-30,000. Wonder if they go more on Halloween?

It doesn't help that Halloween falls on a weekend.....

I wish it wasn't such a long drive for us. When we lived in FL and in NC, we went around Columbus Day. My kids were off of school, but many others weren't. The crowds and temps that time of year are not bad at all!
