Bummer, it starts 8/24.

You guys start early down there for school. Since DS is in a private school, he starts before Labor Day, but due to the tourist industry here, public schools are not to start before LD.

I'm heading out to dinner now. DS picked Pizza so we're heading to a little place that Suz went to as a kid. REALLY GOOD paper thin crust pizza.

Plus, the sitter from this morning left his cell phone here, and this place is down where he lives, so we'll take it back so he doesn't have to drive out all this way.

Talk to y'all later.

Bye Jeff, we always order thin crust pizza!!!

Don't think it matter, it sells out every year.

Although with it being a weekend, it probably was that much quicker.

I was thinking the locals might tend to venture there because of not having to work the next day. In other words they wouldn't mind the late night so much.

And I love thin crust pizza, but my family doesn't, so we very seldom get it....poor me.:rotfl:

In Monterey, they started the first week of August. They sort of had a modified year round program. The got a 2 week break after each quarter. So it was 2 weeks off in early October, late December, and I think late March. They finished up around 2nd week of June and had off until early August. The October break is great for vacationing, but Rob was in school and they didn't break at that time. I really did like that school schedule though....the kids and teachers did, too!

I wouldn't mind if it didn't stick around but right now it's -11C and with the wind chill, it is -21C :scared1:  :scared1:  and it will be here all week :sad1: I expect that in January, NOT April! :scared:

:scared1: YUCK that is was too cold for April!

The weathermen were wrong again for today and things went in favor of Tony and Stacy's wedding! Mild temps and a mix of clouds and sun.

No doubt about that.

We'll have to all be on watch for this one and buy them on DAY ONE!

Wonder what their limit is for that night. The party is usually 25,000-30,000. Wonder if they go more on Halloween?

Hmm dunno?
We went to MNSSHP twice in 2005, the second time being Halloween Night and it didn't seem any busier than the week before. It was more festive but didn't seem like there were more people. But I remember getting my tickets for Halloween sometime in July or August.

hey gang. i'm fine.:thumbsup2 thanks for asking.:grouphug:
i've just been really busy working over at my parents place. they just got back last week from fla(snowbirds) and it's been so nice (weather wise)

:sad2:

robins been busy with school. she had her second interview for that promotion
and is optimistic about getting it.:woohoo:
she's such a perfectionist that if she doesnt get it then it will be a long week for underdog.:rotfl2:

Same here! I sneak it in once in a while. I love just plain cheese, thin crust.

Emily is in the front low at the far left.....They were awarded 3rd place for Inspection, 1st place for the Color Guard, 1st place for standard without arms (marching without weapons), 1st place for standard with arms (marching with weapons), and 1st place overall.

I still laugh when I think this is my girl who wore a dress every night on the cruise.

Congrats to Emily and team!:thumbsup2

The school I work in is year round, we end the school year on June 26th and start the 08/09 year on July 7th.
Sarah is in HS so she starts on August 11th this year. They just went to modified traditional, but their schedule is more focused around the holidays. So they have the week of TG, 2 weeks for Christmas, week of Presidents day,and the week of Easter off, and they will finish the year the first week of June 09.

We're in a big uproar over next year's calendar. The other middle school in the county voted for one option and we voted for another. Our school secretary called each and every board member with her opinion! They were supposed to pass an option Thurs and since we weren't in school on Fri I haven't heard what passes. The option our school wanted had two weeks at Christmas since it falls on a Thursday this year. Nobody wanted to come back to school on Fri the 2nd.

I'm back and it was oh so good. Thin crust is the only way to go. Thick is just too bready (is that a word?).

The thing that makes or breaks a pizza is the sauce. A lot of place will put too much on, so we've started ordering with 1/2 or easy sauce. Works out great.

Also, no more than 3 toppings. After that you loose the taste of each individually and only pick up one overpowering one like Green Pepper (which I don't get on pizza).

Boy Andy, I think you and I need to get together and have some skittles (sketties) and thin crust pizza. :thumbsup2

Do you like lasagna?
