DISCLAIMER: Just my own opinion follows, and my husband would have my head if I didn't clarify that I am a Marine Corps wife....

I just started watching it in the last couple of weeks. The really dramatic stuff (giving birth on a pool table, a bomb in the bar, etc) is not real obviously. Some things do strike a chord with me though. In some instances, they get the essence of the military family(just my opinion though) , like when the kids ask if daddy is going to die, why is he always leaving, teen who is angry about moving, etc.
Oh, and yeah, I'm with Joanne on the sitting around--except in Okinawa...man did we sit around have some drinks (coffee in the morning, spiked coffee in the afternoon, and wine in the evening--not all in one day) and "hold court." Good times.
Edited: Every military wife I know is always in full makeup in bed. And we all wear sexy nightgowns. Right Joanne?! That's comedy right there!
