Yes, we're on the gulf coast - Ft Myers. It took me over ten years to convince DH to move, but now he regrets not listening to me a long time ago.

:banana:I have dear friends who live in Ft Myers:banana: We also owned some property in Cape Coral but sold it after the new bridge was expanded.:)

Awesome. Both of our sons were born on the same day. I was born in 1980:) January 14th. So we both have sons with the same birthday and we both live in the same village....I guess that is another reason to celebrate. Lol.

:banana::banana:

tell em to bring an 12 foot ladder. vaulted ceilings are a pain when its time to paint. or we could just have everyone stand on Tuna's shoulders.:thumbsup2

robin wants to redo the bedroom in a caribbean beach resort theme.

We have a few rooms in our house that are done in a Tropical theme too. I love it!

Sorry Nancy, I had to research this. No they are not the same. It appears that Tosa Fest is a soccer tournament while Hart Fest is more of an outdoor festival with a band, and a few food servings. Here is the link for Hart Fest:

http://www.hartfest.com

I wonder if they didn't change something then. I used to go to Tosa Fest all the time and that's where we had the bands and such along with a run. It's been years though since I've gone so maybe they switched it on me. :confused3

Nancy - did I tell you....I got rashguard shirts for all my family to wear swimming this summer and on the cruise (SPF 50 swim shirts). So we are all ready to go!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thanks MG.

BTW..whilst I was packing I found a stowaway

It would seem that Big Red and Algae were busy after all on the Repo last August. We now have a Little Red.:rotfl:

Norty Algae. :cutie:

Laurie, Firstly, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter.

Stage II melanoma has visited me more than once. I'm one of the lucky one's though and beat the no more than 60% survival rate on it.

I am also the resident "nag" on the BOB thread whenever someone starts talking about tanning and sunning themselves. I try not to step up on my soap box too often but it isn't easy when you care so much about all these people here. I hope that my avatar can deter them at least a little.

Yup. Nancy would of yelled at me. I went to Florida in April of 2008 with my dad to go house hunting. Well, I did not use any suntan lotion, and did not realize that when you drive for about seven hours a day with your arm out the window, it will burn!! It did not bother me until about the third day. By day four, I was in more pain, but still could handle it. Day five was an all day go-kart festival in Kissimmee, where I burnt even more!! Day six before we left, I went to walgreens. The pharmacist said I needed to go to the hospitol asap, as I had second AND third degree burns on my arm. It was so painful. I now wear sun block, and make sure my family has it on also.

Good, I was beginning to think I was showing my age. When we go down to see Mike's Mom & Dad in Clearwater, all the elderly people have tropical rooms. :scared: :rotfl:

We're too young for that just yet. ;)

Thanks MG.

I don't think a tropical theme has to look "old"....

I saw a design show a couple years back that had a tropical theme bedroom and it was gorgeous. It didn't look old at all....lots of blues, etc. It looked very calming.

BTW - Congrats on your degree Robin!

Loved seeing all the wedding pics and videos...everyone looked so happy!

Thanks MG.

Well, I am totally sick of being soggy this week. It seems that every darned time I leave the house it rains:rolleyes:

Its been grey and raining here for a week or two now. Barely an inch of blue sky:sad2:

Can anyone please throw some sunshine our way?:flower3:

Rick got really burnt last year at Castaway. He di a lot of snorkling and forgot/didn't think about putting lots of sunscreen on the backs of his legs. He was in agony for days later. Pharmacist at Target recommended some cream which really helped. He won't forget again, but a painful way to learn.
