10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread #20!

On our first cruise with RCCL, we used a hotel shuttle that didn't leave for the ship until 1:45 or so. I think it was after 2 when we boarded. We didn't have much time on ship after eating before the muster drill.

On our first DCL cruise, (last cruise) we arrived at the port a little after 10 and had a #4 boarding pass. Elaine was registered by the time I returned from Budget. We just hung out for about an hour, watched the shuttle go up, then boarded around 11:50 or so. It seemed we had the ship to ourselves. I think we were the first "customers" at Topsiders.

Yeah, we got to the cruise terminal after 1:30 and onboard around 2:00 pm or so. We had to rush through lunch (what was left of lunch anyway) in order to get back to our room for the lifeboat drill. Anyway, lesson learned. We are going to use a car service to pick us up at BCV and bring us to PC early to meet up with what is sure to be a large B.O.B. group and try to be among the first on the ship.

Has anyone set up a DISmeet at the port prior to boarding the ship?

Matthew

Well, I am out of here...

I have to pick up a van load of Hallmark donations. I'll be back in a couple of hours.

Yeah, I'm off too. Beth and I are heading to IHOP for breakfast. She's off today and I don't go to work until 1:30 pm. See ya. :wave2:

I think the plan is for those that aren't staying at the Radisson to just all meet up somewhere in the terminal. We shouldn't be too hard to miss. There are probably 20 families staying at the Radisson so we will already be there waiting and doing our thing.

We got to the terminal shortly before 10 in '07, and got a #3 boarding pass (well, I got a #2 card, but my mom did not so I traded it-silly me!). We went to Parrot cay for lunch, and were there for a while it seemed, and then our bags had started to arrive at the stateroom by the time we were done with lunch, so we unpacked a bit, and barely had time to go to the Mickey Pool meet before muster. This time, I will do things a bit differently, with any luck - Topsider's, throw Thomas in the Mickey pool, and go to the DISmeet - then find our stateroom and toss the luggage in. Unpacking can be done later!

I think we do have a DISmeet planned at the port - but I think it's just "show up and start hugging everyone!"

Question of the Day:

What's the first thing you plan to do when you get on board?

Well if time allows hit Top Siders for something to eat IE SHRIMP ringht Joanne. Then if we have time before the life boat drills go to the pool with our friends and set and have a drink.

I wish I was staying there....:sad2:

Oh well, I guess I'll just make a grand entrance at the port!

We've booked our ground transportation already, and I have padded the schedule by 1/2 hourin case some of the rest of my party are a bit slow. I'm hoping to be at port at 10!

Sounds like a plan....A drink or 2, since we are all on the same floor we will have friends to sweat with in the sun in those beautiful orange vests!!

Yes we should, I wonder if they will be open in Oct so we can get the booking discount?

So is Dream...I believe the newest Carnival ship which will be based in PC in the fall is called Carnival Dream. There will be two ships called Dream in PC if Carnival keeps their Dream in PC through 2011.

Here is the info from Carnival's website.

Now open for reservations, it's time to start livin' the dream with our most visionary ship yet. Setting sail in September 2009, CARNIVAL DREAM was designed to be the largest and most innovative floating resort in our "Fun Ship" fleet. Among many amazing features, she will boast more outdoor deck space, more stateroom categories, the largest spa we've ever built, Carnival Waterworks and a new indoor/outdoor entertainment complex called Ocean Plaza. Once completed, this ship will literally be in a class all her own.

With our construction photo galleries, news and email alerts, you can follow along and watch as this DREAM becomes real.

More of a reason why they should have went with WISHES.

Question of the Day:

What's the first thing you plan to do when you get on board?

Snag a table outside near the pool (probably Goofy now that DS is getting too old for Mickey - unless he does the slide) and then heading to Topsiders for some lunch with a stop at Goofy's Galley for a panini. :thumbsup2

Very nice pictures and a good hairtstyle for you. The second one is better, I think its the smile. :)

My wife Beth used to have long hair many years ago. She went for a shorter cut too. Easier to maintain and it looks better on her.

Matthew

Thank you very much
