A question for those of you who are staying at the Radisson....

Are any of you leaving your vehicle there for the week while we cruise?

If we drive down, yes we will leave our car at the Radisson.

If we rent a car, we will turn it in and get another rental car after the cruise.

I agree with Andy, if you rent a car, it would be better to just turn it in. Why pay for a week's rental when you don't need to? More money to be spent on the ship. :woohoo:

Could be worse, you could pay for the week's rental and park it at DCL's lot and pay for that too. Double hit.

Hi all....

I'm really still here, even though I don't seem to post a lot. ;)

I have another cruise question....

Since Brenda (the organizer of the Tiara Tarts) is no longer cruising with us     is anyone still planning to wear a tiara for formal night?

I'm still planning to wear a tiara! princess:

There are still a bunch of people listed on Cass' website that are participating:

Tinkerbell.RN- Beth and Megan & Sarah
goofyfreak-Lori and Alex and Julia
disgrits-Paige & Giap
millerpjm - Jen
GOS - Heather
medicalman - Cath & Olivia
tikimimi-Mimi
njprincess - Kathy

I don't know about you Kathy, but we have about 8"-10" on the ground right now and it's still coming down. Looks like we might get punch #3 as a new system just developed near Washington DC and could be heading our way. I know it could have been worse, but it is horrible out there, whether you are walking or driving.

It took me 2.5 hours to get done this morning what usually takes me about 1 hour to do. The area of meters that I am reading today are all on the outside walls of the residents homes, meaning I am walking through mounds and mounds of snow in places, not to mention snow drifts as well.

I came home for lunch totally exhausted and my day is only half over. I am so ready to get to Florida!!!

Andy - Not long now till you'll be there! I wish I knew already when my next trip will be - give me something to look forward to. I think we are going to try to head down this month but next month for sure.

a little bummed out this morning. it looks like we are going to have to change this cruising date to something in Jan or Feb. We sailed this past Feb and received a coupon for the $99 per person bounce back offer (3 day cruise), so we are thinking of taking all our kids in late Aug or Sept, depending on schooling and such. So cruising again in Oct would put a strain on the bank accounts, plus my wife might not get that much time off work. we are still mulling it over..............
Plus, the F-I-L wants to send the M-I-L and my wifes sister on a cruise in Feb/Mar and is willing to pay our way for a 4 night cruise, so we have to really watch the bank accounts and stretch them as much as possible. With one kid in college and another starting in Sept, this is going to be tough.

It's a tough decision isn't it? Good luck with it and even if you do have to cancel please stop in every now and then and let us know how you're doing.

Thanks Karen  Thought I was doing better but I woke up this morning with a bad cough and my lungs are burning now :guilty:

Oh no Cass. I was hoping you'd be feeling better by now. Take care kiddo.

Lori, great pics of Tanya & family, too bad they won't be joining us on BOB.

Ditto from me too. We wouldn't mind at all if you posted a few more Lori. :cutie:

i'm not out just yet. still hoping we can figure somthing out as we like cruising in oct.

Fingers crossed for you all. :thumbsup2

Unless we get the deal of a lifetime that Tony is working on right now, we'll be turning our car in and picking another one up again a week later.

Be careful out there Andy. :scared1:

Check this link out about the first of the new DCL ships....http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=30584649&postcount=508

Time to get ready to go back to work, hope I make it home in on piece. Just heard a truck overturned down the street from us......

Finally! I was beginning to think it wasn't happening anymore. :woohoo:

Mimi, do you drive down to Orlando when you go? How long is the drive for you?

Mimi, do you drive down to Orlando when you go? How long is the drive for you?

Sometimes we drive; sometimes we fly - just depends on airfare. If we drive it is about 7.5 hours with no traffic problems. When we fly, we have to get to the Atlanta airport a minimum of 2 hours ahead (though that really depends on the flight time, so more like 3) and it takes an hour to get there. So when we fly, it is always 3 - 4 hours before we take off - about half way there driving, but at least we aren't as fatigued as when we drive.

We did that last time:rolleyes:

It was convenient only taking the luggage that we needed onboard instead of everything, but we wont be doing it this time round. Having the villa eans we can do laundry easily so we'll be packing a lot less clothing, so hopefully will be down to 2 regular suitcases, 1 small suitcase and 2 handluggage. That should fit under the bed ok in the cabin:thumbsup2

Well, my backs not aching too much today:thumbsup2
I'm still on a lot of painkillers, but they're working:thumbsup2

I even managed to rake the leaves today and then headed to the shops - bought some burgundy coloured cushions and accessories for the bedroom to se how it looked before I decided on the paint colour.... I like it! - I think the accessories may be enough - I might do all the walls in cream after all! - that way when I get bored I just throw that coloured accessories away and buy a different colour!

We are renting a car and returning it before the cruise and then renting another one after the cruise. :thumbsup2

But the reason I asked was because I am looking for a place to store Kira's car seat and full size stroller while we are on the cruise. I don't want to lug them onto the ship since we don't need them and we are staying in an inside cabin and just don't have the storage. I was just thinking if we could manage to find someone with a car that was just leaving it at the Radisson anyway, then maybe we could rent some space in their trunk :lmao: :thumbsup2

It is a tough decision. I can sympathize. We have two in college and one getting married in July. Luckily we are DVC members and we have enough points to cruise. :woohoo: Please stay in touch if you can not join us. I am sure Kathy will be doing a trip report of the cruise.

I don't see as how that would be a problem at all!

Happy Monday :)

Arrived at our store this morning to a power outage! After sitting in the cold for an hour, most of us left and went to lunch. The store won't be able to open until 4 (maybe) so I get to use a sick day. Now I'm home watching Amazing Race from last night and making of list of the things I need to do before we leave on Wednesday for our Happy Place :)

I hope everyone that got dumped on with snow, is careful.

Annette :)

Hey Annette! I know you are happy to be headed to the World! I don't know if I told you - my cheerleaders were invited to help host the grand opening of our newest area Best Buy! We had a great time doing it even though it rained and everything had to be done inside. My girls were so taken by the friendliness of the staff at BB.

Too late MG......

Went back after lunch and as I was walking through a yard to get to an outside reader I stepped into a hole in the snow covered yard with my right foot. The next thing I knew I had a sharp pain run up and down my leg and I heard a pop in my right knee. I'm home now and strapped to the heating pad. I did manage to finish the meter book I was working on though, only had six houses left to do when I stepped in the hole, so I stuck it out and finished, what a tropper I am.........

Funny thing is, while I was home for lunch, Hazel called and had my yearly knee x-rays scheduled to be taken next Monday, and my yearly visit to the orthopedic surgeon is scheduled for 3/24, a few days after we get back from Florida. I'm going to Florida, even if I have to be in a wheelchair or on crutches. I am getting out of Jersey, at least for one week this winter. ;)

Oh Andy - I am sorry to hear that! Knees can be so painful!!!

How long ago was that? We have a store magazine and I would love to see if they took pictures.
