We are renting a car and returning it before the cruise and then renting another one after the cruise. :thumbsup2

But the reason I asked was because I am looking for a place to store Kira's car seat and full size stroller while we are on the cruise. I don't want to lug them onto the ship since we don't need them and we are staying in an inside cabin and just don't have the storage. I was just thinking if we could manage to find someone with a car that was just leaving it at the Radisson anyway, then maybe we could rent some space in their trunk :lmao: :thumbsup2

Won't know until closer to cruise time, but if we drive down from Jersey, you are more than welcome to use our car for storage Cass. I have to wait and see how much vacation time I have left by October, that will decide if we drive or fly.

Oh the wonders of snow in the South! Of course, snow in the South is always accompanied by ice, and it certainly seems we always have a tree fall when there is ice. This time it fell on my daughter's dog's house. He is an outside dog. We had a heater in his house for him, and the heater saved him. It held the tree off him and kept the tree from taking down the whole roof. Lots of wood is broken and splinters inside his house, but he is okay and inside our house now. Mack has a job ahead of him as I am very allergic to Hershey, and here we are headed into allergy season. I guess some of our fun money for the cruise is going toward fixing the doghouse. At least the tree didn't fall on our house this time. Let's hope no more trees fall!

Poor Hershey! I am glad he is ok. You may have a hard time getting him back in a dog house. I would think twice.:lmao:

Well,, of course the pictures don't do it justice. Right now, it is still snowing hard and the wind is blowing such that the snow looks like it is going horizontally. No school here tomorrow - word is already out!

Beautiful Mimi.

Just popping in to say :wave2:

I've been so  for 3 days now. I caught Kira's cold that she brought back with her from the wedding last weekend. Thank goodness for grandmas because I have been in bed for the last 2.5 days now :scared:

Then about 3 hours ago, I got the cleaning bug :yay: Did 4 loads of laundry, my dusting, cleaned all 3 bathrooms and a whole bunch of odds and ends :thumbsup2

Now I think I am going to pass out :faint:

Hope everyone is doing alright! :goodvibes We miss the dawg and tart girl

Oh my word...join the cold club Cass. get better soon.

Cass, did you look into one of those Combi double-folding strollers? Don't forget, Kira will almost be 3 and won't need the really big one anymore. Might be able to cut back there.

As for the car seat, what's the rental rate for that from the rental car company? Is it $8 a day? I've never done it and I don't recommend it (don't know what condition it's in), but it would be an option. Can't remember when DS was in his booster types seat. That stored well in the closet on the ship. Kira might be a little too young/small for that still.

Doesn't DCL have a holding area in the terminal? If not, they should get one.

Are you staying at the same hotel on both ends of the trip? If it is WDW, hey may hold it in the luggage area for you. Worth a try.

Good luck.

Oh Andy - I am sorry to hear that! Knees can be so painful!!!

Don't know if you know this Mimi, but I have had 7 knee surgeries over the years, 4 to the left knee and 3 to the right knee. The last surgery on my left knee was a partial knee replacement, that was in March 2001, that's why I have yearly check-ups. The surgeon said the partial replacement should last 8-10 years. It will be 8 years on March 13th since I had the partial replacement surgery.

The last two knee surgeries I had on my right knee were in April 2004 and August 2005, both due to slipping and falling on ice while, you guessed it, reading water meters. That's why I am so scared walking around in this kind of weather. I try so hard to be as safe as I can, but when you can't see the ice, or holes under the snow, it makes for interesting times.

Question of the Day (Thanks Kathy)

What's your favorite table service restaurant?

My answer: Polynesian Luau. (or Pirate Night on DCL in Parrot Cay);)

Rose and Crown, Epcot

Morning guys.
Welcome home Mike and Robin. Can't wait to see pics.
I thought I would share some of my sister's pics from her Disney trip last week.

Ugh! I've only had one surgery - after a slip and fall - but in PT, I saw so many folks who had knee replacements. They were in such pain. I was in enough. They have told me that I will probably have my first knee replacement shortly after I turn 50 - I had 4+ arthritis diagnosed in both knees when I had my MRI. My dad had really bad knees too. I just know my knees make me feel a lot older than I feel in my mind.

a little bummed out this morning. it looks like we are going to have to change this cruising date to something in Jan or Feb. We sailed this past Feb and received a coupon for the $99 per person bounce back offer (3 day cruise), so we are thinking of taking all our kids in late Aug or Sept, depending on schooling and such. So cruising again in Oct would put a strain on the bank accounts, plus my wife might not get that much time off work. we are still mulling it over..............
Plus, the F-I-L wants to send the M-I-L and my wifes sister on a cruise in Feb/Mar and is willing to pay our way for a 4 night cruise, so we have to really watch the bank accounts and stretch them as much as possible. With one kid in college and another starting in Sept, this is going to be tough.

That'll be a shame if you have to change, but we'll understand.

For anyone who is interested, I just posted the Epcot chapter of our trip report.

Hey Chris - there are some nice shots from the pilot's cabin of the monorail, if you are interested.

I'm still enjoying reading it Kathy.

Hi all....

I'm really still here, even though I don't seem to post a lot. ;)

I have another cruise question....

Since Brenda (the organizer of the Tiara Tarts) is no longer cruising with us     is anyone still planning to wear a tiara for formal night?

I thought we were.

A question for those of you who are staying at the Radisson....

Are any of you leaving your vehicle there for the week while we cruise?

No Cass. We're handing ours back Saturday morning and then picking up another on the following Saturday.

I know exactly how you feel. My surgeon said my knees were like that of an 85 year old, very encouraging, eh?

Bad knees run in my family as well. I have had "many" family members have total knee replacements and I know my turn is coming, it's just a matter of time.......:rolleyes1

I'm still planning to wear a tiara! princess:

There are still a bunch of people listed on Cass' website that are participating:

Tinkerbell.RN- Beth and Megan & Sarah
goofyfreak-Lori and Alex and Julia
disgrits-Paige & Giap
millerpjm - Jen
GOS - Heather
medicalman - Cath & Olivia
tikimimi-Mimi
njprincess - Kathy

I thought we were.

Yeay...just checking! princess:

Cruise question alert!

Talking about the Raddison....does anyone know if we could check in early? or whether there is somewhere like Concierge so we can leave our cases?

My dad had bad knees, but that was due to the fact that he did a lot of driving as part of his work.
