Heading out the door to go to work........have a great Tuesday everyone......

Well, we had a bit of a scare tonight...
Just got back from spending the evening at the Emergency Room with Kira. Rob gave her a muffin from Tim Hortons (coffee place) and she had a severe allergic reaction. One side of her face was all swollen. By the time we got to the hospital, her eye was starting to swell up a little and she had welts all over her body.
They gave her some Benilyn and a prescription for an epi-pen. The swelling started to come down on it's own after about 2 hours but the welts were still there when we left. We have to follow up with her family doctor and just monitor her.
We're not 100% sure it was the muffin but it was the last thing she ate just before she reacted. I am calling Tim Horton's in the morning and getting the ingredients of that muffin just so we know. The doctor said that it was most likely some type of nut.
She's never had any type of reaction before and she's had strawberries and raspberries and peanuts and other typical reactive foods.
Karen, we were so worried and helpless, I don't know how you deal with this every day.![]()

Kudos to you for braving what you have to every day

The final triggers could either have been the chemical they cleaned the table with, or something you ate if you kissed her afterwards, so think what you had too.
When you get a reaction its pretty quick - usually within 20 mins if not muh quicker - (with Ellis its almost instant) so you can eliminate anything before 30 mins.
Big hugs to you all. Its real scarey to start with but you'll get used to it. You're handbags will now need to get bigger though to carry her medi-bag![]()
Well folks, the sun is shining, it snowed another couple of inches overnight, all the neighbours are heading to the park at 11am to sledge so I need to make flasks of hot chocolate and get the bikkies ready.(AND MY CAMERA OF COURSE
)
I'll take the waterproof one just incase I get snowballed mid shot![]()
Have a great day folks![]()

Kathy, this might sound like a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. I know you stayed "concierge" on this last trip. Do you know if "concierge" gives you a guarantee of a good view, i.e., "savannah view" at AKV/AKL?
