10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread #16

Just to let those of you who know me that I WILL be coming with you all in October. Kathy, my sister(NJPrincess), and I will be travelling together. I didn't think I would be able to come because we were already taking a family trip in Sept. and I thought I might be joining some friends in Europe in the late spring/early summer. That doesn't look like it will happen so I have the time to come on the cruise.
I understand from Kathy that some of you whom I have never met know me from her posts. Since I don't have two or three weeks to read thru all the past posts, I may repeat things she has mentioned. I am guessing most of you know about my "job" as an RC priest. Actually, I am planning to say Mass somewhere on the ship on the Sunday while we are at sea and anyone is welcome.
Also, while I expect to try to keep up reading the posts, I probably not be posting all that much myself. So there you are! Joanne, don't forget your walkng shoes!

without you. Nancy and I both said the other day it won't be the same if Frank isn't part of the old group.

ps...Karen you've missed nothing while you've been away love the whole country is still in the toilet and will properly remain there for the next 5 years.....

Holy cow - it was a shock getting into our car at the car park - it was minus 4 - there was even ice inside the Jeep . Took Neil ages to scrape it clear enough to drive. Thank goodness - the Jeep has heated seats - no cold bottom for me!

Bet Karen is glad to be home, to our sub zero temperatures. Welcome back Karen and family.

Thank you - I'd like to say its good to be back... but I'd be lying ... wish we were still over there - it was 80 degrees

Hazel was just talking to her sister and was told that Brittany might be coming home today. Tests revealed that Brittany was suffering from chemical reactions at work. Brittany had just started a new job and it appears the chemicals she works with caused her attack. Looks like Brittany will be looking for a different job or taking better precautions. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts, prayers and .

In one way, this was a blessing, because, the tests still revealed the cyst/tumor on her brain that needs to be taken care of. Brittany will have to see a specialist for this problem.

Glad she's on the mend Andy

I've known since last week, but Frank made me swear that I wouldn't say anything - he wanted to make his own announcement. He's actually been lurking on the board, checking up on me, to make sure I didn't say anything!

I'm sure that you will all you make my big brother feel as welcome as you have me.

Incidentally - Frank will be a great addition to the B.O.B.er Disney Trivia Team!!!

Well, happy New Year everyone! I was entertaining over 200 people for a wedding new year's party so it was a good time, in fact I think I gained a new employee last night as well!

So, as this is the year of the BOB cruise, I have a little ode for you all....

We’re on the Disney Magic, she’s so beautiful and strong,
Her décor is exquisite and her corridors…so long,
I feel a grand excitement as the band begins to play,
She turns to face the sea, casts off her ropes and sails away.

We cruising on the Magic where, with luxury and ease,
We slip past Cuba and on through the Caribbean sea,
We’re sailing for St Thomas upon a south western track,
And I haven’t got a clue which is the front and which is the back.

The motion of the vessel and the rolling of the sea,
The moon upon the ocean’s like a Paradise to me,
The curving of the planet and the passage of the sun,
The terrifying toilet where you press the switch and run!

We had a little fracas when unpacking all our clothes,
The woman needs the hanging space – everybody knows!
But all is now resolved and there is harmony once more,
I’ve got thirty hangers and he’s settled for a drawer.

But oh! That force eleven! Fifteen metre swells and more!
The teacups and the crockery that shot across the floor,
Seasick in my cabin, I was helpless, I was weak,
My wardrobe may be little, but by god it can’t half creak.

The choices of activity are staggering at sea,
Bridge, keep fit or handicrafts, which are the ones for me?
Or if you’re tired of living, give the laundrette a blast,
Take somebody’s washing out and see how long you last!

It was GREAT meeting up with you guys! I'm glad Ellis enjoyed the chocolate. I went over to England to buy the Curly Wurly Burly (what was it called???) but I ended up running into Mimi & Mack again, and I completely forgot about it. So, please tell me the name again so I can pick some up on my end of the month trip.

Hi everyone...remember me? I know it's been a while

We're back from our AZ/DL trip...we had a prety good time. Disneyland was awesome! Thomas just loved it (of course we did too!) and Mom had so much fun on this vacation with us that she's considering NOT cancelling the BOB/BASH cruise.

Of course all trips have their ups and downs....we were at DL Monday and Tuesday, and by the end of Tuesday Thomas was a limp noodle. Wendesday he got sick on the way home, and was sick over Christmas. We still managed to have a good Christmas and Santa still found us, but we didn't get to do a lot in Arizona because of it. Then, yours truly got sick on Sunday...aches and sore throat. I am actually home from work today and just posting so you know we're still here!

I'll post some pics later...hope everyone's ok. I haven't read back much on #16, so someone may h ave to fill me in on the latest news.

Hey Frank, I have to put my own 2 cents in. What a pleasant surprise - although truthfully I'm not all that surprised. I didn't think you'd let Kathy on DCL without you. So glad you're joining us! You'll meet many fantastic new folks too.

Well folks... I got through all 105 pages (skimmed through so apologies if I mised something / someone)

We had a great time. Crowds minimal first week - 20 -30 min wait....- horrendous the 2nd up to 2.15 hours for Toy Mania.

Great weather, great shopping, great food, loved the Dis meet - great company.

I will (of course) bore you all solid with hundreds of photos when I bother finding my camera. . so in advance I give you my whole hearted permission to skip the whole lot if they bore you or send you to sleep.

Thats me done for the evening.

I'm off to play wii with the munchkin.

I need to get lots of practice in before Jeff gets online so I can whoop his @$$
