I told Hazel when she picked me up from work today that for Christmas 2009, I am giving myself a present, I am filling out my retirement papers.

Yes, that's how good my day has been........

Lina and her friend Samantha are here making chocolate covered pretzels. I'm dying for chocolate and Lina won't share any with me, darn the girl of mine...........

I sent this in to Staples to be printed off, I pick them up tomorrow afternoon. We get out family pic done tomorrow night at Picture People and I will be ordering photo cards from them. I was told they should be ready rather quickly. I'm so far behind this year, usually I have our cards ready to go out around Thanksgiving.

no glamour or anything.

i got a job right out of high school (34 plus years ago) at a local tire manufacturer. Denman Tire. we make tires for off road vehicles and classic wide whitewall tires for show cars etc.
cant complain, its been good to us. although as with anyone these days, its getting tougher out there. i feel sorry for the younger guys.
they just told us, you're laid off the rest of the year. no holiday pays or anything. just sign up for unemployment(about 1/2 your pay)

as i said, i'm happy to get the time off, but the younger guys with families are the ones who suffer.
