First of all those are really cute kids But I have to know if that is a beagle face looking out the door. We have 2 beagles and a JRT/Pin Pin mix. That beagle face looks like my Shelby.

My daughter and grandkids have a bagel. This is a mix between beagle and bassard hound (sp) He is so lovable and cute. He will be two the end of November. I walk him every morning after I put my grandkids on the bus. He follows me around until we leave. Di

Regarding amusing words, I have to throw in my favorite snigglet:

Destinesia - Going into another room to look for something, but once you get there, forgetting what it was!

I like the word Destinesia. I think it will become part of my vocabulary. Di

Use 4 or 5 pound Shoulder, Boston Pork Butt. Can use small size depends the number people you are feeding. I used a 3+ lb and we got two good meals plus I have enough for tomorrow for lunch.Also makes sure it has some fat on it but not alot or it will not fall apart while cooking.
Turn on Crock Pot on low put in the pork then mix the following. 1 12oz bottle of beer then mix in 3/4 cup of BBQ sauce. I prefer sweet baby rays. Mix them together then pour over the pork add salt pepper for taste cover and let it cook for 7 to 8 hours and then it should be done.
As I said add ingredients to pork have crock pot on low and let it cook and don't touch.

We were also those involved parents, I still miss it. I can't wait to be those grand parents, but not anytime in the near future.

I was involved with my kids school activities but not as much as now with grandkids school. I volunteer in the lunchroom, library, classroom. I go on field trips, make copies for kids teacher, help at the parties etc. I go eat lunch once a week with Elijah and Asiah. I feel if Elijah wants me to come I better go since pretty soon he wont want me to follow him around. He is in the fifth grade. Next year he will be in middle school. They both like me to help.They are proud of their Gramma. It also keeps me in contact with their teachers. My daughter is an ER director so she does not get to help out at the school. All the kids call me Asiah or Elijah gramma. it is real cute. Di

Sorry Jeff just found this post this morning. Yes, I did work yesterday and pushed myself a little to hard I think, a bit stiff this morning.

When Lina said her training started Tuesday and Wednesday, I assumed it was today and tomorrow, actually, it is next Tuesday and Wednesday 10/21 and 10/22.

So, is anyone booking anything for 2010 tomorrow morning?

I'm looking at moving 2 cruises, but don't think we'll do either. I may cancel one ressie all together and use the other for 2011 on the new ship.

I'm looking at Jamaica and Mexico (Puerto Vallarta and Cabo) prices for the end of this month (same week as the BOB next year) and can't believe how cheap you can get an all-inclusive, with air, for then. We're talking under $2,600. I think Suz will want to switch back to a beach vacation in 2010.

Although, 5-nights on the Wonder would be nice. Only been on that ship once.

I have my TA looking to book us the regular 4 day Wonder sailing for 4/18/10. I wanted to be on the Magic for my 55th Birthday, but I will wait and see what the price is for the Wonder, then decide if I want to keep it or not.

Speaking of 2009, good thing we canceled because I found out last week that cruising in Oct or any month that school is in will probably out unless I can beg my Principal to let me go. We are going to a traditional school year next year and the district expects classified to take their vacations when students are not in school. And to help encourage that they will not provide a sub for our positions. Of course if we do take a vacation it is up to the Principal to be down a staff person. With my current Principal I would be surprised if she would let us.
So for now it is back to summers and holidays.....anyone ever travel then?

If you are going to year-round, then won't you be able to travel during the off-weeks? I have lived in 2 different states with year-round. One state had 1 track of students - on 9 weeks, off for 3; but the other state had 4 tracks of students with one track always off. The tracks still went to school for 9 weeks and off for 3, but all tracks were on different schedules. The principal used to wear a necklace with 3 color-coded dolls to help her remember which tracks were in school. The teachers there still got off-track vacations though - it was as if there were almost two full slates of teachers to keep it all going. I always said if I worked in year-roud, I would want the one-track system, so I could travel on the 3 weeks off. I am glad my plans are made before I sign contracts for next year - I will be up front about it and make sure they know and are okay with my being gone a week in October.

I remember being called "Mz Tony" at school. I got to do a few more things with his classes because I had off on Monday's and it seems all the field trips were held on a Monday.
