Up early to do a few wedding things and then off to meet up with 13 other Wisconsin BOBers. I just found out that there is a Croc store on the way up there so I'll have to make a stop there first. Maybe we'll run into to Cheryl's family there.

Then over to a mall for the Disney Store and finally to the resort where I'm sure we'll find the other BOBers in the waterpark already.

Have a great weekend everyone. :cheer2:

Nancy, that sounds like an awesome time :woohoo: Have fun all you WI BOBers :cool1:

My son just got his official acceptance into the Pacific program at his university, so he is on his way to Australia and New Zealand to study in January. I am so happy for him since he wanted it so much, but geez, it is far away. Now I have to find out how to use the cell phone there and anything else special about his travelling over there. Anyone know anything about any of that?

Congrats to your son! :woohoo: Sounds like an amazing life experience :thumbsup2

Christian, stay warm...hopefully your furnace will be fixed soon! :goodvibes

Yippee!!!!

I bet Karen has started her packing now (if she hasn't already :rotfl: ).

:rolleyes1 I'll admit I have started gethering things together:rolleyes1 :lmao:

Karen - What's a Close?[/COLOR]

Our street only has 5 house on it. Its a sort of t shape

I know this one. It is a court or cul du sac (sp?).

:thumbsup2

Yep...I road with a dead end.

:thumbsup2

Normally, they don't have a circular end, so if there is no where to do a three point turn, you then have to reverse out.

I'm sure I have a photo somewhere - that will explain it better

I hope this explains it a bit better. The whole Close is block paved, the normal road ends at the black tarmac. Theres only 8 cars on the Close (and three of those are ours:rolleyes1 ) so its never busy. The children often play out there together and we're having a fireworks party out there next Saturday night for everybody in the Close. We' just block the end of the Close off (it used to be a private road anyway so no-one ever comes up there.) We're the house on the left.

It's fixed! The repairman said, "its fixed until something else breaks next week!" :scared1:

All of the problems the past couple of weeks are unrelated, that is why it is so bizarre. At least it was not too cold last night.

Hey Mimi - my officemate's daughter has been doing her junior year in Australia - she's coming back next month. I know she's been using Skype to call her boyfriend back in the states. I can put you in touch with her if you'd like to as specific questions. Just let me know.

That makes perfect sense. How cool the way the street ends in between houses and there blocks give you your own area. I love it. So my husband and I noticed there is not a lot visible grass. Are yards common there? We have a small lot compared to other places we have lived - only 3/4 of an acre. There is still a lot of grass though. It appears you and your neighbors have privacy fences around your back yards - are they rather large? I love your home - it looks beautiful!

We have heard a little bit about Skype and have thought that might be the best way to go. We are researching it. I have heard coverage in New Zealand may be a problem. If we can't get the answers we need, I will definitely ask you for contact info. Thank you!!!!

Chris - I am glad the furnace is fixed! I really hope the guy was kidding about next week!

Where is everyone? Oh yeah, meets, parties, anniversaries, and probably watching football. I am off to grade papers, but I will check back in.

Rainy, dreary day here. Just relaxed a watched a few movies, now it's time we start getting ready for our evening out. Have a great night all. Will probably be too late to get back on when we get home, so I'll see y'all tomorrow. :wave2:

Have fun, Andy! Enjoy the food and drink and most certainly, the company!

Yeah me too Mimi. He was the same guy that came last Monday so he was just having a bit of fun I think.

Yeah I am all ready to go now for our night out as well. I kind of went with the "resort casual" look, but I am having poison ivy coming out bad all over my face and hands. I have been doing a lot of yardwork this past week.

Well, I better sign off and go pick up the babysitters.

See everyone later!

Don't try to follow - just jump in when you see something you like.

That's what I was trying to do. I was typing a response and when I was done, saw something interesting that was a response. I tried to look back at what started it...and got more behind!

It was only the 2nd time I tried it.

There is an option you can set to make it not go as fast, and last night, I saw a way to make it stop scrolling completely. I just answer what I can, ask what I want, and try to keep up as best I can. It's stil fun!

Chris...if the poison ivy is bad, check with a doctor. I had poison ivy (or one of it's poisonous relatives) right before our cruise in May. I wasn't sure what it was. I had only pulled a couple of very small weeds that were in a wood-chipped area. I didn't know what it was. My doctor gave me prednisone to take to help decrease the symptoms. It worked great.

I tried the "stop scrolling" button. It showed a circle and slash...but the messages still kept scrolling!

I have 8 girls in my family room who are finally settled watching "Halloweentown". Megan is having a costume party/sleepover for her birthday party. I will be having a much less chaotic party for Sarah on Wednesday. These 5th graders definitely have energy! :yay:  :dance3: :cheer2: (this is my house the last 4 hours!)

I did a marathon cleaning day to get ready. Then I had to keep the chaos controlled. They are all great girls, but get them all together...

Doesn't sound like you'll be getting much sleep tonight! :rotfl:

Good evening everyone from Collins Lake, in CA. Sean, Sarah, and I are camping the next 2 days since Sarah has a 3 day weekend. We store our pop up at my Dad's and he pulls it up here for us. It's been nice these last few weeks and we are taking advantage of what may be the last of the nice weather, it's supposed to rain next weekend. Would love to post a pic but it's giving grief right now.

I had a wonderful surprise this morning from my British Sis Heather. I guess you could say we had a telephone DIS meet. It was wonderful hearing from her and Rick, and I started tearing up when we had to hang up. We were a little late showing up and I had to tell my dad that we had a phone call from my friend in Britain. He just smiled, which surprised me because he tends to be a bit grumpy. My dad had changed a bit since he retired. Not sure if it is because he doesn't have to work or if it is because mom works 2.5 hours away and stays with her best friend 3 nights a week.:lmao:

I can wish, can't I?:wizard:

Actually, I have to get up a bit early and leave in the morning for a certification class. Matthew will have to feed the girls (orange danish rolls are planned). So... I am putting at least a "quiet time" if not a "sleep time"!
