Hi All, just got in ourselves a very short time ago. Had a great time. My Godparents presented Hazel and I with flowers since we celebrated our anniversary yesterday, we were totally blown away by the surprise.

I had a few cousins come up to me and ask me who I was, they said I have lost so much weight, and had my hair shorter since they saw me last(several years ago), they weren't sure who I was...........:rotfl:

I think I forgot to mention earlier, my Godmother Kay, is my mom's first cousin. Kay's mom, and my mom's mom, were sisters.

I have a few pics from tonight's celebration.

George and Kay's cake.

It's after midnight and I was getting ready for bed when I turned on the Phillies game just as Ryan Howard hit a homerun in the bottom of the 6th inning to put the Phillies ahead 4-1.

Why did I turn the TV on???

That makes perfect sense. How cool the way the street ends in between houses and there blocks give you your own area. I love it. So my husband and I noticed there is not a lot visible grass. Are yards common there? We have a small lot compared to other places we have lived - only 3/4 of an acre. There is still a lot of grass though. It appears you and your neighbors have privacy fences around your back yards - are they rather large? I love your home - it looks beautiful!

There is no grass at the front. We all have our own fenced private back gardens (or yards as you call them over there:goodvibes ) Its only small. All gardens are small in England compared to the USA. Heres a photo of the before and after of our back garden. We moved in end of June last year and it took ages to sort it out.

These before photos are taken after about 6 trees ahd already been taken out. It was like a jungle!

We now have evergreen passion flowers covering the whole back fence and all the plants have established and grown well - must be all the rain we've had this summer!

Heres two photos from this morning. Look at the grass plant by the fence on the left - see how much its grown! It was about 18 nches tall when we planted it - it now touches the purpley tree branches - about 50inches!

... but I am having poison ivy coming out bad all over my face and hands. I have been doing a lot of yardwork this past week.

Be careful! - Neils arms went all blistered and itchy for weeks after just pulling a bit of it up. They swelled up too.:sad2: It doesnt affect me though. Guess who now has to cut it all when it grows back:rolleyes: You can see it all growing over the shed and through the old trees on photo three. We had tons of it when we moved in.

Good morning everybody

All our clocks are wrong this morning . Our time went back an hour last night so its now only 7.45am:rolleyes: Been up hours...its going to be a loooong day:sad2:

We're doing a car boot sale this afternoon to try to clear the rest of the toys we want to sell. He's made about $180 so far. Hopefully today will bring another $100+. Its a miserable windy morning - thank goodness its inside and not in some field or car park as usual!!

Has anybody noticed whether they do kids "tattoo" pens in USA? Ellis wants one for christmas and I thoguht it could be something we could get over there instead of having to pack it and take it with us. Its like a ibrating felt tip pen and stencils. Its called TAT2 over here. I know theres a fe toy stores in Florida so I was hoping to pick it up from over there.:confused3

Have a nice day everybody:goodvibes

Morning Andy.
Great pics of you and Hazel.
You are looking so slim now ,good job, you are so motivated.:thumbsup2

Thanks!!! :goodvibes

Yes, I dodn't know what has gotten into me. I have been on diets before, but never did any exercising to go along with the diet. This time though, it's more about exercising and watching what I am eating. It also makes me feel better about myself......:goodvibes

In fact, it's about time I start getting myself ready to head to the gym for my morning workout, so I'll see everyone later on........:wave2:

Jay and I are total geeks ...

I'm sure there are many more areas in which we excel at geekiness but I can't seem to think of them right now ... my better half is working late tonight. ;)

Brenda, it's so awesome that you have so much in common!

Morning all. Just checking in from the Chula Vista. Having a great time.

Jen/Pete, Cheryl/Al/Rachel/an their niece, Nancy/Chuck, and my family are up here. Janice's family is coming up later this morning.

The waterpark is great. Chuck and I go on the "toddler" climber (well, it's for bigger kids and teens too) and spray everyone with the hoses. We just get soaked up there.

We have pictures. Not sure when I"ll get them up here.

Jen Mouse--I had Hazel follow your chicken crock pot recipe that you posted the other day, we are having that for dinner tonight, it's starting to smell "YUMMY" already!!!

Good morning everyone.

I woke up today feeling under the weather  and my poison ivy is coming out even more. I will be calling the doctor tomorrow morning to get in to hopefully get some prednisone as it is all over my face. I am glad I didn't get the picture with Edward Burns last night!

Nancy and I made through the night with the grandkids. They have been great.
Joanne if we lived in Fla you would have Nancy and I to walk with.
It's a very windy and rainy day here in Maine. We had winds gusts up to 60 MPH last night.
This afternoon we will be off to our first hockey game this afternoon. Our hockey grandson starts his season today.
danandnan
PS Chris take care of that poison ivy
