Got to thinking about Fishlips being multi-storied & was wondering how I would get to the upper level to watch the Magic sail away. I contacted them & they have an elevator. Woo hoo so I can make it to the pre-cruise meet in my gimpy state.

OMGosh I didn't even think about that! Good thinking! So glad they have an elevator but we would have moved it downstairs if they didn't.

This is me and DH...we are celebrating our 10th anniversary on the cruise and leaving our 4 children at home.

Thank you everyone for the good thoughts!!! We think we've figured out a way for us to go on the cruise without having to worry too much about what's happening at home. (Grandparents are a blessing, for sure!)
Ironically we usually get trip insurance and I'm still not sure why/how I didn't get it this time.

I haven't been checking in much because we still aren't 100% sure we'll be cruising. Our 7 year old spent 2 weeks in the hospital. He's doing really well right now but we'll wait and make a game-time decision about the cruise. It's looking good for us to go but I don't want to get my hopes up and then have to cancel at the last minute.
Sadly, we don't have trip insurance for this cruise so if we have to cancel, we'll be out of luck.

Wow...can't believe how fast the days are going. I'll join you in the single digit dance,We leave next Tuesday at 5 am and still no DME tags. I'm tired of calling and have my backup plan in place. I've been going to phyical therapy for about 8 weeks due to a damaged rotator cuff in my right shoulder. Hoped I'd be better by now but no. Just have to find the time every day to do my stretches and then ice.Should be fun...nothing will put a damper on this vacation...well maybe flying.

Whew!!!!!

My daughter is going thru a NASTY divorce, the cruise was their Christmas present, last week he said the kids could NOT go!!!! Well he underestimated me, we filed for an emergency hearing. WE WON!!!! Stupid guy, don't come between me and the grandkids!!!He was also ordered to pay the court costs!!! Of course we had to travel 9 hours to daughters house. So we did a quick road trip, he had no idea we were coming, his face was priceless when I rolled in!!!!!!

Now on to the cruise.....

I got all the FE stuff together, it took a whole suitcase!

Not sure about Fishlips, our gang will be easy to spot cruise day, the 7 of us will be in matching red shirts, I will be the one with long blonde hair in a red power chair!

My kids grow entirely too fast They've outgrown all of their summer clothes and of course, finding shorts anywhere is nearly impossible and we don't have enough time to try and order anything. We get in rather late on Saturday so there's no time to try and purchase anything in Florida, and at that point, who would even wanna worry about clothes shopping.

So looks like the kiddies will be getting much use out of their khakis and cargo pants.

There is a super WalMart (open 24hrs) on Merritt Island. Turn right at the stoplight right by Ron Jons. The Walmart will be on your right after you go over the bridge. We will be headed there to pick up a few last minute things for the cruise ourselves.

Sorry about your shoulder. I am sure we'll be able to help create clever stretches using cocktails. Then ice is immediately at hand. It's practical!

I packed up most of my FE gifts yesterday. Fortunately I am chief packer around here, so I can hide them! I am still keeping the whole adventure a secret-the kids still don't know about the trip and my husband knows some, but not all! I will only reveal plans to them one day at a time. I wonder what I will tell them on the 14 hour trip with stops in Paris and Atlanta

We won't make it to Fishlips, we only arrive in Orlando Saturday evening and we'll stay there Saturday night. Sunday we are going to "family astronaut training", so we will arrive at the port around 2 or 2:30. Hopefully we can still make the meet at 3:30.
