10/23/11 - Disney Dream

Okay, so I know that I'm waaaaaaayyyy late but I'm finally joining my October 23 Dream Cruise buddies! It's our very first cruise ever and we'll be celebrating DD's 5th birthday with a Disney Cruise followed by MNSSHP the day we disembark! We're SUPER excited and counting down the days! :cool1: Here's the cast:

Me-Kateesha (27)
DH-Marcus (26)
DD-Kamari (4, but she'll be turning 5 on the we disembark!!)
DS-Marcus (3)

I'm sure everyone can understand my EXCITEMENT!!!:thumbsup2 I'm so ready to cruise :rotfl:

Welcome! We're going to MNSSHP that same night!

We're going to Epcot for F&W on the 27th, sounds like it won't be too crowded since everyone will be at MNNSHP;)

not to make anyone jealous but I got ressies at Remy for the 27th :cool1:

Very cool! I was shocked that there were Remy reservations left but no Palo brunches. I hope I can get a reservation when we get on board.

Not me. A Palo brunch is still only $15 while a Remy dinner is $75. While I like Remy's (we have a dinner booked for both B2B cruises), I would gladly give one up for a Palo's brunch. Just like the laid back atmosphere and the food (so much, so good) of a Palo's brunch better.

Our reservation is linked with others so I tried to get us a dinner reservation at Palo since I am a silver member, but everyone else we are with is not. When I went to book all the Palo dinners for more than a party of two were already taken. I even called DCL to see if they could check. So once again I will be trying to change that as well once we are on board.

Same with the spa. Slim pickings by the time I got to it. I feel bad for anyone that had to wait until 75 days out.

Yep, bigger ship= more people and more competition for limited resources. I think this is a real bummer for those who are first time cruisers. For that matter, with the fact that Palo Brunches go so quickly, some will never see that treat until they have at least 5 cruises under their belt. That will be the minority.

This is one of the benefits of taking longer cruises- more time for Palo's , spas, tastings, etc. Personally, I enjoy the cruises that are 14 days.

I wish had had the points for the 15day Hawaiian cruise next year but we decided to do the Fantasy Maiden instead, so I can't be too sad.. ;) And it is a 7day cruise. :)

One of these days I'll take a 2 week cruise. I really want to do Panama. I'll bet that even on the 7day cruises the Palo brunch will be tight. Last cruise I took on the Magic was a 7 night eastern (extra at sea day) and I still barely got my Palo brunch reservation. The only reason I did was because someone invited me. I was locked out of it in 5 minutes.

Where do we go to try to get the ressie for brunch once onboard -- to Palo itself or to guest services or some other location?

I am acutally not sure. I was planning on asking once we got to the port. When we were on the Magic, we went to Wave Bands and both the spa and Palo representatives were in there taking reservations. But I have not heard on this ship.

The Location on Embarkation day Seems to Move around on the Dreams..

-- They have tables in D-Lounge at 1:00
-- I Have also read that Palo had set up a table out side Enchanted Gardens..
-- Some people have just walked up to Palo and made the reservations that morning after embarking
-- Some have just called up to Palo on the telephone after 1:00

I have read everything from 20% to 50% of the reservations are held back for the on board bookings.. But I have never really seen a number from an official from the Mountain top source.....

An out of the box thought, I wonder if you can Call Palo from a cell phone at 1 if you were not on board??? Like if you were on the Bus or inside the terminal with boarding number 693 :scared1:

Whoo Hoo! Just upgraded my WDW stay. Was: POR with quick service and now AKL savannah view with regular DD. I am so stoked. For the three night stay it only cost me $300.
