We woke up this morning with Castaway Cay fast approaching. DH had booked the parasailing for us so we were ready to get there. Had a light breakfast at Beach Blanket- didn't want to get queasy during the parasailing
. We headed down to the gangway about 8:30 and met MickeyMagic and her DD. Our DD stayed with them while we were on our excursion. prymsu and her friend Pat were on the same parasailing time. There were six of us that went out on the little boat. The seas were extremely calm and not a cloud in the sky. I was a little aprehensive about the parasailing because I am somewhat afraid of heights.
Pat was the first on up. She was nervous about this whole thing too but when she came down she was smiling! That calmed my nerves a bit. We switched off cameras so we got good shots of each other. prymsu was next, the other couple, Dh, then me. It was one of the highlights of the trip. I could see the whole island from up there. I was secure in the harness and never felt I was going to fall. The tether from the boat was 250 feet long and couldn't really see the people below I was so high up but I was never afraid. They kept us up aboout 5-10 minutes each. I would definetly do it again.
We were back on shore a little after ten. Now it was time for a konk kooler
We found MickeyMagic and the girls on the beach. They were having a blast. Just as we were walking up a server came by to take our order- 2 konk koolers please
. Lunch was being served around 11:30 so we headed to Cookies before the line started to grow. The food was good and there was plenty of it. They had ice cream this time. I don't remember ice cream on our January trip. Goofy, Captain Hook, and Mr Smee came out during lunch. I was surprised at the fact they were walking around the picninc area by Cookies instead of the 'form a line please'. Captain Hook scared DD8 so bad she almost started crying. She has always been afraid of the character (especially the villains) but has gotten over it a lot in the past year or so.
After lunch we headed back out to the beach to relax. DH walked over to the adult beach to talk some pictures since we were probably never going to be able to enjoy it. We headed back to the ship around 3:30 to get cleaned up for the Castaway reception at 5:15.
The recpetion was very nice. There was food of course and drinks. Captain Henry came out a said a few words about the rumors of the 3rd ship and a European cruise. He said anything is possible. They are looking into what the guest want and urged everybody to include their preferences on the comment cards at the end of the cruise. After the reception we headed off the Disney Dreams. It was great as usual.
Dinner that night was in Parrot Cay. Before the dessert the servers did the limbo and invited the kids to join in. DH and I were celebrating our birthdays on the cruise so after the limbo our servers came over to sing happy birthday and present us with 2 cakse and 2 DCL birthday pins. DH went to our head server, Claire, before dinner to tell her it was birthday but she alreay knew it was both of ours. This was a pleasant surprise. We shared our cakes with our tablemates.
The lab was making flubber that night so DD8 wanted to leave just after the cakes came out. Since we were kid free we headed over to Wavebands for a game they were going to be started soon. Well, not enough people showed up to play the game so they gave us complimentary DCL logo pins!
It was getting late and tomorrow was going home day so we went back to the room to pack. It was hard to believe it was all over.
The next moring we had breakfast in Parrot Cay. We thought is was very good. I was not expecting much after reading complaints on this board but I was very pleased. I had 2 large pancakes, bacon, a bran muffin, and juice. More than enough. It was a very sad good bye this time leaving our good friend MickeyMagic and the girls had become such good friends they were sad too. We really enjoyed pyrmsu and Pat and hoped they had a good trip home. We will be sharing pictures as soon as they get developed.
Now we start the countdown to March 2004
