Oh Arlene! How horrible. Hope she recovers quicker than you think.

Rich and I both called in today so that made a three-day weekend for him and a four-day weekend for me!! :cool1: :cool1:

Hey Cheese! So close and yet so far... Next time give us a heads up and maybe we can meet up with you a little bit, if possible.

Arlene--- So sorry to hear about your Mom. Throwing pixie dust her way for a speedy recovery.

I thought when everyone was talking about a coconut that we were actually being mailed a coconut. Didn't realize what is was until Peter gave us the link to the picture. The receipe would be nice, but I will never make it. I hate to bake.

Looks like several of us had long weekends. Now to have to struggle through a 5 day week.

Got to finish up things so can get to the TV for 24 @9pm.

Exactly what I thought too, Nancy: That everybody received a real coconut :rotfl2:

Today a coworker of mine had her 30th birthday: We converted her swivelchair into a wheelchair with huge wheels made of cardboards. Another paramedic and I assembled a stretcher and gave her a medical checkup with the whole department watching: Bloodpressure, pulse, eyesight, etc :rotfl:
Now another coworker of us is really scared as he will be 50 on Thursday :earboy2:

Arlene...pixie dust to your Mom!

I got my "Coconut" mail! Very cute idea. However, I will NOT be making a souffle. Some things are best left for vacations :mickeybar

I LOVE the Amazing Race! It is so interesting to see how people deal with the stress of traveling in a country (not their own) without speaking the language.I am sometimes embarrased the way Americans act :confused3
I like Rob and Amber, and hope they do well.

Hi! I want to change my username. Can I change is somewhere, or do I have to actually register another one?

If I register a new name, can I transfer my buddy list?

Marianne

:earboy2: Got the coconut in the mail ... cute, now I hope they keep sending us other stuff for being such loyal cruisers!

The older I get the more I realize that my body was made for a warmer climate!

Back to work ...

Hi guys, Kim here...

Arlene, Sorry about your mom, hope everything goes well..

Things are getting back to "normal" around here, mom is up and about a fair amount of time.

About this Coconut !!, Yea Right ! like I would get a coconut, when reservations can't even remember which cabin we were in, I can't expect them to remember our address... However, it would have been nice to get our own coconut <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_38.gif' border=0></a>

Right now we are in the early stages of a major Nor'Easter, estimated snow at least 12 inches, this will be me tomorrow <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZNxdm813' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_6_18.gif' border=0></a>

Must run for now,

Bye everyone,
Kim

Marianne,
you'd better ask that question on the Tech-Board or contact one of the administrators. Here's a LINK

Thanks, Eric. I found one of my answers. I do need to re-register, which I'm going to do here in a few minutes.

Arlene, So sorry about your mom. Hope she isn't having too much pain.

Kim, Glad Bette is getting around OK. It won't be long before you're cruising again. I'm so jelouse.

Maryanne, You better get busy posting, your counter is back to #1.

Beautiful day here in :sunny: FL. Still no snow. :rotfl:

Gotta run.

Had a major malfunction this morning when we were taking Katie to preschool. I had put her in her car seat and buckled her up. I had placed her backpack, her Stitch stuffed animal and my laptop on the roof of the saturn Vue. On the way to school I saw her backpack and stitch blow off the roof through my rearview mirror. I applied the brakes on to see to my horror my apple powerbook come flying off the roof hit the hood and slide down the road about 30-40 feet on the pavement. After stopping to retrieve the items it way scratched all to hell on the bottom as it is an aluminum cased laptop. I will post some pictures tomorrow. I opened it up and it is still working like a champ. I am posting on the boards with it right now.

Mike

Bette and Kim, we found our Mexican vanilla that we had purchased in Cozumel and it is fantastic. Kathy made a homemade banana pudding and used it in that along with some candied sweet potatoes. (Yams for our Northern dis family) :rotfl2:

Mike

Wow Mike! That's amazing that it still works. You didn't tell us though, did you recover the backpack and Stitch?

Kathy picked those up Tracy while I was cleaning out my gotchya's. :rotfl:

my apple powerbook

Never hurts to send over a real mail letter to Apple (maybe with visual damage pictures included) explaining the situation and say that it worked first time you opened it up. Some tech companies suck up this kind of stuff to show how great their products are. You may/may not get something in the return mail but you never know until you try.

I always wanted to know what people are talking about when they say 'My computer crashed!' :rotfl2:
Mike,
you're certainly not the first (And also not last) to make that experience: I coworker of mine placed his wallet and his cellphone on his car's roof. The phone was a write-off, but he was lucky to retrive his wallet and all the contents.
About two weeks ago an armored car (Like Brinks) lost two large bags with diamonds when a door went ajar unnoticed on the autobahn. One bag was found by a trucker, who returned it to the police, but the other one was scattered along the autobahn. The police tried to recover as many diamonds as possible without alerting the public ;) otherwise there would have been scavengers everywhere :teeth: The were able to get back abou half of it or so, the rest vanished.

What about your cars hood and roof? Any dents or scratches?

Wow Mike that was amazing that the laptop still works.

Loved Rob and Amber on the Amazing Race last night. It seemed like they finished way ahead of everyone but I guess we have to wait til next week to find out the times. I looked at my watch when they got to the pit stop and was amazed that there was still 20 minutes left in the show. Was amazed that they were the only team to carry all the books on one trip.

Seem to have a cold today. Left work early yesterday as I wasn't feeling that great and may stay home today because I have to go in tomorrow.

Fiona--- I thought the same thing when they got to the pit stop. I looked at the clock and the time was 9:38. Everyone else was still out doing their tasks. Rob and Amber were really kicking butt last night. The mom/son team, older couple and gay guys are really annoying me. I was hoping that the brothers would have done better. I am just really enjoying this season of AR. Did you and Jim get on the repositioning cruise?

Ave-- Has Panama City been invaded by the spring breakers yet?

Mike--- So glad that your computer is still working.

Eric--- Loved the story about the diamonds falling from the truck. I am glad I was not the only one who thought we were getting a real coconut in the mail.

Yes, we got the coconut yesterday. Actually it came to DS#1 which is strange. He hasn't been on a DCL since 2002 and would have been registered in my cabin.

Winter has returned. We had the teaser on Monday with temps in the 60's now this morning it was 11 degrees. I certainly have gotten a lot of use of my winter sweaters this year.
