Good news, Folks:
Debbie sent her info  I'll do an update tonight. We've got the 3rd Wok World Championships going on tonight. Perhaps you remember me posting about this last year. It started as an idea in a TV-show and has become an annual event. TV-, Sports-, and Music-Celebreties using woks (Those Chinese frying pans) to race down one of those icechannels originally intended for skeletons and bobsleighs. The do it in the Single Wok, sitting in one, and having to small ones strapped to their feet for steering and braking, and in the Fourseater-Wok, which consists of four woks connected by chainlinks. All contestants wear protective gear, but nevertheless some bruises and cuts happen. During this event I should find some time to do The List - unfortunately postponing the CruzLetter once more.

We got 2 inches of snow again :cold: :cold: :cold: I want spring :sunny: :confused3

Eric I take it that the winner of the race gets a Chinese meal as the prize? Thank you and everyone else that works so hard to keep this group informed and together. It really is like having family all over the world. Also hope that you get a little warm up there in Germany. The daffodils are in bloom here in Nashville and the trees are starting to bud out.

Rosemary do not feel guilty about posting as we have not been the best at it ourselves. Tell Rich, Richey and all of your four legged friends we said hello.

Last year we went to Washington during the cherry blossom festival and the trees were beautiful around the tidal basin. We love taking the metro around town as we do not have to fight the traffic or pay the high gas prices to drive.

Where is spring???

Reneé--had you had the soufflé at Palo?

Yes, it's very good. Alot better than the food, in my opinion. I think Fiona and Jim will agree with me, though. We're going to get the soufflé to go when we cruise in August since we're not interested in going to Palo. :teeth:

That's too bad that you guys had a bad experience in Palo. Chris and I loved it, but I wonder if it was just a different night, or maybe just different tastes. We're going to try it again in September. I hope that we have the same great experience, otherwise I will be disappointed.

Hi Everybody,

I got the coconut too. DD and I plan on trying it out. We'll let you know how it goes.
Welcome to Pianogirl! My DS will also turn 8 in Sept. So happy that you've joined us.
Just got off the phone with my sister-in-law. She and her family are leaving tomorrow for thier first Disney Cruise. I was filling her in with all the tips I could. If they have a good time, maybe they will join us in 2006. :earboy2:
Got to run and pay some bills. :sad2:
Later, Avé

Is there a connection in who is receiving the coconut? Just wondering if I should be getting one? I did get the Castaway Club with the CD in it when we got back. When it's snowing, there is nothing like hearing that horn sound and the steel drums play! Is the souffle recipe hard? I concider myself a pretty good cook and am not afraid of many steps to a recipe, but will it take all day? Hope ya'll are having a nice weekend! Unlike TN, WV is not yet in bloom, but we are ready and waiting! Rain, rain, go away, come again another day!

Hi Folks,
List #8 is in your mailboxes - Check it out.

I guess we won't get the Coconut Recipe.
A) Germany ist far away for DCL to mail that stuff.
B) As our last cruise was free, I assume there won't be any additional pampering.
But as our main cooking untensil is the telephone, we wouldn't have much use for it anyway :rotfl2:

I did an hour of Copy/Paste-manoeuvres to compile all the addresses of the participants of Cruisetoberfests I through III and sent an invitation to all of them to join us for Cruisetoberfest IV. I may have inadvertently copied some of you into that mail as well, but I thought it better to adress too many people than forgetting someone ;)

Pianogirl,
don't be confused: There are two mails in your mailbox: The first one contains The List, the second one Cruisetoberfest's History.

We haven't received the coconut from dcl yet. With my luck we never will. Thanks for the list Eric. Mike

We just got the coconut mail yesterday, so hopefully everyone should get it soon.

It's been a LONG time. Kind of amazed that my login still works...

I am really glad Viking sent out that email! I can't believe we're up to 4 Cruisetoberfests already.

The last cruise we took was in May of 2002. We needed a little break. Spent lots of time at WDW and have been taking advantage of our premium annual passes! A week at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and we're going back for Spring Break (April 2-8).

But the kids have been hounding me about taking another cruise. Only problem is that it's tough for them to miss so much school. We'll see...

Take care, and I'll drop in again sometime!

Good to hear from you again Jerry. Hope that the family is well and that it will be possible to have you join us once again.

Hi Jerry,
it's great to hear from you :wave2: If I remember it correctly, you were the one who came up with the name 'Cruisetoberfest' - So I guess your joining us is mandatory pirate:

Renee - will definately agree with you about Palo. We just didn't have a great time either at the brunch or at dinner. Amy and Chris - Hope you have another great time in September though - I know you had a great time on our cruise and the rest of us didn't so hopefully you'll have a wonderful time again.

I'd be really surprised if we got the coconut because they won't even send our CC cards to us here in Canada. They claim they can't send them outside of the US.

Snowed some more last night - can't even tell there's a pool in our backyard because of the snow. Sigh.....

It's thawing over here, Fiona. We're hoping that spring will arrive in time for the Easter weekend - Even though Anja has to work then, warmer weather would be nice.

Soon after we did our first cruise in 1999 we received a package from DCL containg our cards, some pins and a kind of certificate. Everything was sent to Germany. But I guess nowadays the wouldn't do it anymore. DCL is not even listed in the major catalogues anymore. After having closed all continental Disney Stores and the withdrawal of DCL from the German market there are also rumours of closing down Disneyland Paris. It would be a major loss of face for Disney, but it seems to be a moneypit for them.

I would definitely have to say that I was not as impressed with the brunch. It was ok, but nothing that I would go out of my way for again.
