We are back from our trip to Pittsburgh for the ACHA DIII National Collegiate Club hockey championships. My son's team finished 7th in the nation with a record of 2-2 during the tournament. The heart breaker was the 2nd game losing in a shoot out to the eventual National Champion University of Colorado. My son started in goal for that game and played great in the 1st period. At the end of the 1st period he had an episode of PSVT (layman's terms his heart for no know reason begins beating rapidly). He doesn't even remember the last 2 minutes of the period as his heart rate was 239 and dizzy. Despite that he managed to make several great saves in those last 2 minutes. The medics had to check him out and usually he will convert back to normal rhythm is he lies down with his legs up. Once he cardioverted back he wanted to go back into the game which no one including myself was going to let him do. Oh well life goes on. Overall my son had a great tournament in the other games he played and ended up with a 2.00 GAA and .933 save percentage. Now he is home for spring break. Plus we just got a letter saying he is a Presidential Scholar and we will be going in 2 weeks to a special cermony at Cal. An Athlete and a Scholar. The Scholar part I never would have thought from this child.

Mary--- sorry to hear that the deal on your house fell through.

Jeanne--- Hope you are enjoying WDW.

Eric--- Congratulations to on your 10th Anniversary.

Papa-- 1950 was a very good year as that is my birthyear also. Sorry to hear that you were exposed to Agent Orange and that is only took them 30 plus years to realize that. I salute you and all our military personal both past and present.

Welcome to the new family.

I watched my tape of both Survivor and Apprentice this afternoon. That immunity challenge was really hard. I really like Tom. Felt bad that Jeff hurt his ankle and had to be voted off. As for Apprentice, Net Worth needs to play together nicer. To many egos on that team.

Off to do laundry.

Nancy

I am glad to hear that others feel that way about Palo. We did the brunch, not dinner as we were only on the 4 day and wanted to have all our dinners with the boys. I thought it was just okay. The food was good, but we are not big drinkers, so even the Mimosa was okay. I didn't even finish it. I don't know if I would go back again. I am just as happy to get a cheeseburger. Maybe we will try dinner on the next cruise though. Is it nicer then brunch? Or is it worth it JUST for the souffle??

Reneé, LOVE Haley's new Easter picture!
Anyone who wants and didn't get the souffle reciepe let me know and I'll e-mail it to you.
Nancy, Congrats to your son. I know you must be very proud of him.
Eric, Thanks for the new list.
Just got home from work. 8 hour shift turned into a 12 hour shift. :sad2:
Later, Avé

Tulirose, you sure had it right. I am so tired after I read all the posts, I don't have the energy to post. This time I had to fix my count down timers so my signature did not show up as jibberish too. But I really wanted to let you guys all know that I am alive.... I also didn't want to become another DVCNUTS....... Jerry, glad to hear from you. Hope you can join Cruisetoberfest IV.

We went down to Long Island last Sunday. DS had their season opening Club Lacrosse game at Hofstra. He came home for the weekend and we took him down there for the game. It was FRIGID. We had to sweep away the snow in the stands. Fortunately they had plowed the field for them to play. It was a good game and Binghamton won, so that warmed us up some.

I can't keep up with all the posts like Tuli does, but I glad to hear Bette made it through her surgery with flying colors. Gotta be in shape for the Panama Canal cruise. :jumping3: :jumping3: :jumping3:

Please send the recipe!! :goodvibes We have not recieved a coconut yet, but there is always hope. Just what a recently diagnosed diabetic needs, huh. Ten of our family group went to Palo's on CFIII. They seated us in the back room, and the waiter suggested we order family style. I think we got some of everything on the menu including the souffle. If we didn't, It was close. The food was ALL great, and the service was perfect. We can't wait to go back.
Thanks for the recipe Avé,
Allen

Ok friends....I just got off the phone the Castaway Club and inquired why some get the mailings and some don't. The CM was very nice and explained that it is just a random mailing and done by an outside marketing company. DCL themselves does not do the mailing. She did not know what the criteria was for the current mailing or even what the mailing looked like...I told her and she was impressed. She did offer to look into putting my name on the Marketing List, but was not sure how to do it. So, who knows...maybe in the future I will receive a mailing!!!

Well my mom did it again. She fell and broke her wrist for the 2nd time thursday night. She will be having surgery today to set the arm and get an external brace??? Normal healing time is 6-8 weeks but if this runs like all the other fractures in the past we're looking at 4-5 months.....

Parenting the parent...what a joy...oh well...

Arlene :sad2: :cat:

Arlene...that's aweful! I hope she recovers quickly!

I had a thought! wow.... :rotfl: Maybe we could include the recipe for the souffle in the CruzNews!? Then we would all have it and Ave wouldn't have to send it out to the masses, it could be done in one shot! Just a thought....we could add different recipes each time...Recipe Corner!

I am going to enjoy the weather today...near 60 today but the rains are on the way, again, and then a change over to snow tonight. Snow showers the rest of the week...but it usually doesn't accumulate to much. Seems we get more black ice here then snow.

Have an awesome day ya'll!

Good Idea, Michele!!!
Send it and I will include it in the Newsletter.

Gute Besserung (Get well soon) to Arlene's Mom :wave2:

Wishing your mother a swift and speedy recovery Arlene. It is suppose to rain here today and tonight and then we will have some snow flurries later this week. Hope that it doesn't kill all the lovely flowers and budding trees.

Another Monday and another week closer to the cruise and meeting all of our friends old and new. Welcome to all of the new cruisers and their families. Mike

Arlene - :grouphug: for you! Hope she recovers quickly and is a better patient than my mother is.

Raining here at the moment and if the temperature drops it will be freezing rain. Hoping the weather will stay warmer.

It's supposed to snow off and on all week here but hopefully it won't accumulate any more than we already have.

Still waiting for real spring, not just calendar spring.

Fiona

Just popping in to say a quick HI.

I wish I had the time to keep up with this thread and the repositioning thread, but I don't, so this one suffers. After the August cruise, I will be a regular here though.

Fiona,
we had once again temps as low as -14°C/4°F last night, but our weatherguy on TV said that this was it - From now on we will have rising temps, unfortunately coupled with rain. I haven't had the top down for three weeks, but hopefully I will be able to lower it again soon.

Arlene ... OMG how awful for your mom. Give her a hug for us and let her know we wish her well.

Nice to hear from some of the original Cruisetoberfesters (say that three times fast!!)

Weather is warmer here today but supposed to snow again tomorrow ... I'm going  I want to  in some nice warm sunshine! I'm working on a beach scene needlepoint and that isn't even helping my mood.

Supposed to be my lunch but we're down a person today and I have to run and answer the phone.

  You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up, you put the lime in the coconut and call me in the morning!!!!

I just got the mail and I got the coconut! Thanks to Ave for offering to email it out! Eric, I will send it to you an email later tonight...after homework, Dr's appoints, dinner and the school bookfair! (I'm tired just thinking about it!)

I bought souffle cups today, but I bought the wrong size....I"ll have to retry it tomorrow!

Just back from Chicago and can't wait to go back when it is warmer! Our feet were worn out, but I can live with that! We had excellent weather for late winter 55 degrees, it was great! :sunny: Also, I have to say - Blue Man Group Rocks!!!!!! :cool1: Must go and pick up the "babies" and pay the bill! :faint: Got to check for a coconut too! Take care, the Fridays
