Ferret on a stick is great. You can get it at any Chinese restaurant. It tastes like chicken. Mike

Will you come, too?
Great!!!!
Sorry, but I didn't dare to ask if anyone living far away from New England would come to greet the Germs - You know how humble, shy, and modest I'am
But I guess that means that this time we have to bring more Schnaps :drinking1 The maximum we are permitted is 100 mini-bottles. As we do not have to carry through three States like last year, we will bring the real thing: Miniature glas bottles, which are more fun drinking pirate: But I guess this time we won't bring the sour apple. In the end I had to drink too many of them myself as the majority preferred the sweet stuff.

Talking about chopped liver: Seen your signature lately? :teeth:

Papa...YUCK! :p

Ave, any luck on finding the ferret a home?

Eric, are you going to be staying in NYC for the weekend? If so where?

I am SO glad it is Friday :cool1:  :cool1:

Bette, how ya feeling?

I was also told my marriage wouldn't last  This Nov we will be married 19 years!

Renee....how's the snow?

Dunno, Mary.
I guess Jenn & Peter will do the planning. They proposed that trip - and we love the idea. I'll have to ask them. So far I only know that we will take one of the China-Buses (Boston-NYC $15).

BTW,
Kim & Bette are right: There's not only Northeasters coming: Marianne & the kids are also thinking about it.

I liked the sour apple... I Japan I used to get a juice made from green apples, ohhhh that was so nice and tart..

Great news yesterday... All of the biopsy site test results came back on mom and they are all negative for cancer... Now she just need to get on her feet 100%.

Bye, Kim

P.S. I will e-mail the birthday/anniversary spread sheet this weekend to Eric for the newsletter.

Us, too. This May will be 10 years for us. Funny thing is the people that said are now divorced themselves! Guess they don't know everything.

We got about 4 inches of snow yesterday/last night. Lenny got up at 4 am to clean the driveway. Snowblowers are wonderful things (I don't think the neighbors thought so). I'm at work now, but no one else is here. Don't know why. The roads are fine. Oh well, I'm leaving early.

Reneé

Bette--- What wonderful news. I hope you continue to have a speedy recovery.

I would love to do the NYC dis meeting, but the timing is not good. That is right before the big conference I am in charge of. I guess we will have to see how things are going and decide later. Plus for Norm to go to NYC, I would have to hijack him there as he hates NYC. I might be able to get DS#1 to go up on the train with me for the day.

We had 8 inches of snow. So Norm got to use his new snowblower. It seems to do the driveway faster than our other one. I think it is wider in ther front. I know that the neighbors probably were not wild about hearing it at 5:30am but we have to get to work.

I think Jeanne and John were traveling to PA yesterday for their daughters swim meet, so hope they were able to get there safely.

We are going to visit DS#1 Saturday as his 22nd birthday is on March 2. So will take him out for dinner and shopping. His apartment was robbed this week. He and his 2 roommates had alot of thing taken, but Erik had the most stolen. TV, DVD/VCR player, game boy, playstation and all the games, camcord, an Olympus 35 mm camera with regular and zoom lenses, over 600 CD's, 200 video movies and DVDs, and computer speakers. They didn't take his computer or either of the roommates computers. Our homeowners policy does cover this so we will just have to see what we get back. The thing that has upset him the most is losing all those CD's. He is a really big music fan and I doubt that you can even buy some of the CD's he lost anymore. It's a life learning lesson for him.

Need to get busy at work. Have a good day everyone.

Nancy

Bette,
that's great news
OK, so we will also bring some sour apple for you

Peter,
you're right, the Germs are not worth a Mini Cookie Night , BUT A MEGA COOKIE NIGHT!!!!! :teeth: :cake: :mickeybar
And we get a special prize for going the longest way to get there pirate:
Do you really have to work on Columbus Day? I thought that was a holiday?
That hotel sounds great. I can also check it out using a German provider, sometimes we Europeans get great deals through our travel agencies.
New Hampshire isn't far from Boston, is it? And Anja would love to see the largest dog in the world.

Nancy,
being burglared really sucks :sad2: It happened to Anja and me about 15 years ago. We also lost a VR, a stereo, tons of CDs, and small valuable chest with teh ownership certificates of both my car and motorbike and our passports. Fortunately we had a special insurance which paid for new equipment plus a percentage for price increases: For a VCR which was Deutschmarks 1060 in '86 we got Deutschmarks 1300 in '90 from the insurance. So we were able to buy better stuff. But what we really hated was the feeling or our privacy being invaded by the burglar - And nobody compensates you for that!!!

OK, gotta watch 'Dumbo' now - we need a Disney-fix. BTW, we just ordered 'Bambi' on DVD which will be available over here on 3/3/05. Amazon offers it at €19.99 and they give a guarantee over here: If you see it anywhere else for a better price within two weeks, they' ll give you a voucher for the difference.

It's supposed to start snowing here today any time but right now it's nice and sunny out. Jim drove me to work so he was thrilled to hear that it was supposed to snow starting at noon.

What day is Columbus Day? We don't celebrate that here in Canada but I have a feeling that it's the same as our Thanksgiving. We'd like to try to get to see you Eric and Anja when you are in New England but it will depend on the timing.

Hope everyone's having a great Friday!

Columbus Day is 10/10 this year - and Heidi's (Marianne's DD and my birthday). We'd love to meet you :wave2:

Reneé, Thanks for the words of encouragment re: my upcoming surgery. I know it's the right thing to do, and I agree the attacks are Very painful. But I'm still a little nervous.
Nancy, SO sorry about your son's things. But at least no one was hurt, and you had insurance. Thank goodness for small favors.

The Ferret has gone home!  The ower's boyfriend went down to the local newspaper to place "lost" ad. The young lady that was helping him was the same person who took my call yesterday placing the "found" ad. She gave him my phone number, and the owner was here to pick him up a few minutes ago. She was very happy to have her pet back.

Later, Avé

OMG...just hit 1000 posts! :bitelip:

Mary Jo -- So completely agree with your comments about Mr. Bush and his VP!

Ave' - Your surgery will be fine. Both Renee' and I have had lap chole's and were home in no time at all with very little discomfort. Three cheers for the ferret findng his home -- hope you don't miss him too much!

Fantastic news, Bette!! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2:

Nancy -- So sorry about your son's robbery. They sure took a lot. Hope the insurance covers all of it.
