Cathy,
the problem right now at Anja's hospital is a hiring freeze. Even worse: When someone leaves, they try to get along without replacement to lower the headcount.
But I was promised a promotion for later this year, we're thinking about reducing Anja's time to 80% then and switching our tax-classes. This is a trick often used over here to lower a couple's taxes. pirate:

Hope everyone is warm and dry. Peter, great story about helping the mom and dd. Always knew you were a nice guy! puckerup:
Anja, Sorry you didn't get the transfer. Maybe something better is "just around the riverbend." :D

OK, Sister Mary now has me watching "Lost" on Wed nights. But I'm a little lost on plots/motives. Guess I'll just have to keep on watching.

Jeanne and Rich, take care of those legs.

Gotta run,

Hi Ave'

I watch Lost... Can I help you with any of the plots ??

Bye, Kim

Peter--- Since I am older, I do remember several storms where the snow was that high. The most recent one we had was Feb 2003 with 24". We have a snow blower but it took quite awhile to get through all of that. Luckly this time around we only got 7". How nice of you to help others with your plow.

Sorry Anja didn't get the job.

Take care Andy.

Ave--- Sorry about your kitty.

Jeanne--So how did it feel to be able to drive again? I hate being a prisoner in my own house. Take care of your leg and don't push yourself to do to much.

Don't watch Lost, but am now into 24. For my Amazing Race friends, it has been confirmed that Rob and Amber are on the next one. Also will only be 3 weeks from the end of this one until the start of the new one on March 1.
I am staying away from American Idol.

Mike--- Some of us are technically challenged and can't even use a VCR yet alone a tivo.

Got to get to work.

Nancy

Nancy: we will be back in your neck of the woods next month. Jen's championship meet is in Lewisburg (Bucknell) 2/24-2/26. We/re trying to figure out if it's an easy commute from Lewisburg to Harrisburg/York. Maybe we can meet for lunch or whatever. We were looking at the map and don't see any major highways.....what kind of road is 15? We'll know more when we find out exactly what's she's swimming. If they make her do the mile, she won't have any events on Thursday and we'll have more flexibility. She hates that event with a passion but always manages to place so from a coach's point of view I think it's a no-brainer. But until the line-up is set, she'll do whatever she can to get out of it.

Peter ... You got the direction right! You may want to make a pit-stop or two on the way. Sam, MaryJo and Sarah are about 28 miles south of our house. How are your "fur kids" coping with the snow so high. I guess it's hard to do "your business" when your tookis is in cold, icy, snow.

I talked to MaryJo the other day ... they are in the middle of a possible merger of her hosital and another one so she's trying to behave with the internet use. Also, just for the heck of it, her hospital is in the middle of a big renovation project and she is in Operations/Maintenance and they are up to their ears in work.

Forgot to tell you guys ... Art and I went to the Disney on Ice Show 2 weekends ago. Show was great but let me tell you, you think Disney Cruise is expensive with stuff ... :earseek: Bucket of Popcorn was $15! Slushy Cone in a Plastic Mickey Mug $15! Cotton Candy in a (thin cotton) Mickey Stovepipe hat $15! I'm not sure but there seemed to be a pattern there. The show was reasonable - $20 for 4 rows from the ice BUT smuggle in your own food, or get a loan.

Of all the times for the heat to break down, it picked this morning/afternoon. Thank God I have a little space heater under my desk ... I was huddled there like it was a fireplace! The heat dude just left, now we are waiting for his repairs to work and make it a little warmer.

Back to work .... brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

We're taking Haley to the Disney on Ice show this Sunday. Luckily she is too you to realize that she might want some of the stuff there. I'll have to check out the souveniers, though. Can't come home without buying her something! I couldn't believe they charged me full price for her ticket, too.

We saw Disney on Ice some years ago. Anja got the ticket as a gift from a patient. It was fun - Especially as it was free.

I'm watching 'Dogma' right now, this movie is so funny :rotfl:

There is no such thing as an easy commute from Lewisburg to Harrisburg/York
Route 15 is 4 lanes in some parts and 2 inlanes in others. That is the route I take when I go back to my hometown. It is over 1 1/2 hours from Lewisburg to York and a little over hour from Lewisburg to Harrisburg. However, maybe we can meet somewhere in between. Closer to the time we can see how your schedule is and mine. That is the CHE Championship weekend and currently Brian's team is in 2nd place so they have a shot at making the playoffs. The playoffs are 2/18-20 and if you are the top 2 teams from the playoff round they go to Championship weekend 2/25. Then starting 3/2-3/5 is the National Championships. Since Brians' school is the host team they get an automatic slot in that tournament, so I know for sure we are going there that weekend. So I could end up 3 weekends in a row doing hockey tournaments. I thought those days were over. So we can just keep in touch and see if our schedules work out.

At least you get to sit in a nice warm pool area to watch your daughter. I have to sit in a cold rink.

Cathy--- Which Disney on ice did you see since there are 3 different ones out? Renee what one are you going to see. Hershey had the Nemo one which looked cute.

Norm's snowblower had a major malfunction so it is in the repair shop. Let's hope it can be fixed before the next snow storm.

Nancy

Thank You Goofynut...

For the puppy's I had to Create a Maze in the Back Yard With Several Pit Area's They Love it Can Run From One end to the other and then over to the side yard Since Chase is one of there Fav's. I wanted them to Be happy .. Hand Shoveled, :guilty: as the yard is fenced and Could not get the Plow in there ...

Peter

Hi Everyone! :wave2:
Hope all the snow folks are dug out, and staying warm.
Love all the pictures.

Did anyone else get the really cool postcard from Disney/Castaway Club with the Ship in a bottle? I love it! It now has a place of honor on my desk at work.

Later, Avé

I watched Dogma - It was hilarious :earboy2:
Then I picked up Anja at the hospital - in heavy snow, but it already stopped.

And then we booked another vacation online: On 2nd of July we'll fly to Vienna for a week to explore this wonderful city. We'll be staying at the Eventhotel Pyramid with a fully equipped wellness area with gym, sauna, etc. And it is located right opposite Europe's largest shopping mall. Now the price: For the two of us including the train-fare to Cologne, the return flight to Vienna, hotel & breakfast, trainfare Cologne to Frankfurt, and travel insurance it costs only €849 (~$1100). THis is so ridiculously cheap I can't believe it. More details soon.
G'nite

Eric hope that you and Anja stay safe on the snowy roads. I see in the forecast that Boston and the northeast are in for some more SNOW.

We are fortunate to have warmer temps here in the mid-south. Waiting for the W-2's and end of year tax statements to arrive so that we can file our federal income tax, as Tennessee has no state income tax. Mike

Mike--- I didn't realize that Tennessee didn't have any state income tax. We are also waiting for all our W-2 forms.

Eric--- Sounds like a wonderful vacation you have planned. Are you going to line up a fall trip also?

Amazing Race--- I was sorry to see Lori and Bolo eliminated. They even made a comment at the beginning that they need to be sure to read the clues correctly. I was thrilled that Kris and Jon finished first. They are such a class act and truely enjoy the countries they visit. It was sad watching this episode knowing the devastation that occurred after it was filmed. It was such a beautiful country. Adam and Rebecca need to go next. Someone needs to smack Adam or give him a timeout.

Nancy

Nancy, I'm with you on 24. It's one of my favorites! We like to watch it live and pray the phone doesn't ring.
