Note to self; don't tell other Cruisetoberfester's about secret verandah on deck 2. It is only for us dungeon dwellers. :cloud9: Mike

Hi Mike,

" Dungeon Dwellers" We should have that as a quote on our magnet door room tags ... Of course we join all the best down on deck 2. Right now we have quite a long group of us in a row...

Bye, Kim

Hi Everyone:

Just a quick note to welcome the new posters and hope that everyone is doing good.

Arlene

Did my Amazing Race friends watch last night? Jonothan and Victoria have so got to be eliminated or I am going to reach through the TV and choke him. She's not much better as she takes his abuse. I would have pucked on him. I hated to see Gus and Hera eliminated, but they always seem to make bad choices at the Detour and end up being behind because of it. The wrestlers were really impressive from going dead last and looking like they were to be eliminated to first. Since Gus and Hera are gone, I like Kris and Jon. The recap episode showed alot more of them and they seem to be enjoying themselves and appreciate the places they have been to.

Nancy

I agree- I like Kris/John also. You never see them argueing at all. I didnt really care that Gus/ Hera were eliminated as I always thought that it was eventually going to happen. I do agree though - they always did make the wrong choices. Though think about it - do you want to see Gus in a speedo!!!Not exactly the same as seeing the other guys...I think Jon/Victoria should be eliminated just on his attitude and her stupidity. How could she continually take the crap thats hes handing her and then accept his lovey dovey stuff. I know its a competition/race but not only does he treat her nasty but also the other players and the local people. I'm surprised a taxi driver hasnt stranded him on the side of the road yet.

The competition of eating the soup was so nasty. All the people throwing up and especially the one who threw up and then had to eat it.

Arlene

Nancy ... Choking is too good for him ... I'm thinking more like hot honey dip and fire ants! I agree, enjoy where you have been cause there are some amazing places out there.

Bette ... I agree, I like the "Dungeon Dwellers" too.

If I'm not sure, I think that is where they store all of the provisions. so if you guys want to feast well, be nice to us or we'll hold the food hostage!

As I sit here looking out at the crappy roads and weather we are having, I'm trying to imagine myself taking my walks around deck 4 .... :guilty: But it's not working!

Okay evertbody.....

Confessions of a (ONCE AGAIN) postponed surgical patient......

Doctors completely blew it.....I should have had a COMPLETE cardiact work-up pre surgery........They decided this as I lay on a stretcher in surgery....BUT ! Being GODS they did not feel they had done anything remotely wrong........
So.................I now have NEW doctors...Go for complete heart work-up on the 10th and to NEW OB/GYN on the 19th....

Thank-you for all your flowers,cards & prayers....

Please keep me in your thoughts.....

HUGS !!
Bette

Oh Bette -- How absolutely frustrating. Will mark my calendar yet again!! (Course it could be that you just want more cards and flowers during the dreary winter weather!)

Watched Amazing Race -- was sorry to see Gus and Hera go as I liked them but they did make odd choices. Personally if I was Victoria I would have thrown up all over Jon and then taken a separate taxi. I just keep hoping they will be eliminated. Course it could be like a couple of seasons ago where the most annoying couple won -- at one point she wanted to quit and she kept whining and they won. It was so depressing.

We are supposed to get bad weather tonight and tomorrow so we'll see.

Hope everyone is well.

Fiona

If Jonathan wins Amazing Race, I will truly freak out! I was sorry to see Gus and Hera go, but we all know it was inevitable. She was such a kind and respectful daughter.....you just know daddy wasn't in great shape and she never acted the least bit resentful because of it. He did a good job with the soup, though! Hubby likes the team that's always laughing...not sure what their names are.
Bette: so sorry to hear you're not feeling well and are due for more surgery. I hope all goes well for you.
To all the Deck 2 cruisers: If you continue to badmouth Deck 7, we're going to have to bar you from using that nice spot on 7 Aft.
I just had 2 showings today which means that the market may finally be picking up. One couple that was looking has 5 kids so it's definitely the right size. They were here forever, but seemed more interested in my Disney stuff than the house itself! It will happen.....I hope. If Mary (or is it Ave?) sells her house in 6 days as the realtor predicted I'm truly gonna plotz!

Jeanne,
as someone who spent the last four cruises on Deck 7 and really enjoyed it, I nevertheless saw it as my duty to spend Cruisetoberfest IV on Deck 2. You may ask 'Why?', but the answer is quite simple: Someone has to have a watchful eye on the FFFF, also known as 'The DoorMagnetScramblers'. So I thought it necessary to sacrifice my beloved verandah for the peace of the rest of the group (Can you see my halo? )
It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it pirate:

Ahhhh, Deck 2. On our first cruise we had a great cabin on deck 2. (Aft) Inside deluxe. Before the trip I kept thinking about the scene in Titanic...Jack eating with the rich folks, "How are the accomadations in steerage?" "Oh fine sir, the best I've seen, hardly any rats."
Jeanneg, Mary is selling her house. I am building a house. It's OK, I stay confused. :bitelip: Hope the one with the big family is the one to make you an offer.

Anyone out there have any advice on buying a pet door for our cats? I was thinking about the ones with the electronic collars that open the door for just your cats, thus preventing your house from being the neighborhood cat hang out.

Wish we were sailing this year! Oh well, might have to talk DH into an Orlando trip this spring. :earboy2:

Later,
Avé

Hey Ave -

No advice on the cat door because I asked DH about this and he said not a chance. Our cat is an indoor kitty, but he loves to go out on our pool deck to chase lizards. However DH doesn't want a kitty door because he said that it would just allow the lizards (and other unwanted critters) inside.

Also, you'll definitely have to come down to Orlando soon. WDW misses you!! Plus, we'd love to try to catch up with you!!

Amy

Amy,

I love the new picture of the girls. I can't believe how big they've gotten.

Reneé

Thanks tons, Renee! I can't believe how fast the time goes, especially since Maddie is already 8 months old. She's trying to figure out the crawling thing, but she just can't seem to make forward movement.

Haley is getting really big too. How old is she now? 2? Boy, time flies!!!

Yep, she turned 2 in November. I can't believe she'll be almost 4 when we cruise in 2006!

Wow, that puts it into perspective, Emily will have just turned 5 on 10/5/06 and Madison will be 2 1/2. They'll be all grown up by then, huh?!?! We were just talking to Emily about "Mickey's boat" today and we told her that we were going later this year and she said, "wow, that will be fun". I couldn't believe that she remembered much about it, but she talked about some of the characters and how she swam in the ocean. It was too cute!

Are you guys coming down early to FL before your next cruise? Are you going to WDW at all? If so, let us know, because we'd love to see you guys again before 2006.

Once again we are in home improvment "hell"! George tore out the kids bathroom and was about to begin rebuilding it, when George's dad said he would lend a hand with the replacement of the exterior siding. Since this also involved replacing 2 windows (one in DS room and one in the extra bedroom) we know have 3 rooms torn up! 2 bedrooms and one bathroom, as well as the entire exterior of the house! Saw dust everywhere! However we are very grateful for the help from DFIL!
Jeanneg..I'm sure your house will sell before mine! The reason for the fast sales in our area is a combanation of good school district/old neighborhood/low priced houses!
We had a wonderful visit with twin sister and family for New Years!
Bette, sorry to hear of your difficulties :guilty: We will keep the pixie dust coming!
I got a call today from one of the docs I worked with. He just got back from the 12/28/04 Magic cruise. He and his family had a wonderful time. He wanted to thank me for all the pre-cruise info/advice I gave him. He picked my brain for about 6 months before booking  He is already planning their next trip!

The news tonight had a story of a local company sending water purification systems to the Tsunami victims. Local fund raisers raised enough to get them bought AND shipped! :grouphug:

We are planning to visit my sisters in Panama City Beach for a week and then we intend to spend 10 to 12 days in Orlando doing WDW, USF/IoA and SW. We think we will do everything before the cruise as my BD is 10/10 and Anja's 10/14, but if work interferes we may be forced to do it after the cruise.

Love the new picture Amy -- boy are the girls ever getting big. Can't believe that Emily will be 5 on the cruise. Time sure flies.

Sitting here waiting for snow and freezing rain to hit. It was supposed to start around midnight but so far nothing. Since I've now caught DS's cold was really hoping for a snow day!

How is the weather in Florida? We will be there (hopefully) for the first week in February!

Take care everyone.

Fiona

Snow day here for most of the schools, but not me :(

We got about 7" by the time we got up and it's still snowing. Gotta love All Wheel Drive!! Only took about 10 minutes more to get to work this morning. Most of the crazy drivers stayed home or were stuck somewhere!

No snow over here, quite contrarily it is warm: 10°C/50°F and the forecast predicts 2°C/4°F more for tomorrow - Unfortunately accompanied by lots of rain. I didn't have the top down for 6 weeks or so :umbrella:
