Fall 2026 itineraries

We were disappointed to see that DCL really hasn’t expanded 7 day options much. I don’t get it. They obviously are having trouble filling their mini cruises.
I think the mini cruises are at a price point the average upper middle class family can barely afford. They make more money having two cruises in one week than having one. The short cruises have always been the money makers for them. I assume they are not stupid and are doing what makes them money.

Everyone looks at the discounts and thinks they are struggling, but even with the discounts they are still priced way above the competitors. It's a mind game they play. You think you are getting a deal, but you are not. They win.

Good point that their discounts are not really a deal.

I think they have trouble selling their longer cruises as well. Hence seeing already *GT rates on the Treasure this fall despite this being the newest ship. The reality is that DCL might have overestimated the amount of people willing to cruise at DCL prices. They have started to „lower“ prices for Wonder and Magic a bit, but they are not sailing out of Florida. So it’s not as noticeable… But I wonder if they can even keep up that price level out of ports that traditionally were struggling filling ships.

I just searched for 7 nights from PE from October through May and there are 11 7 night cruises listed. So about 1.5 7 night cruises per month from PE, which I think is a good change from this year where they are all short cruises until June.

If you look at all other ports which are non PC there are 12 7 night cruises in the same time period. So I think they are mixing it up more and not just sticking to their normal 3/4 or 4/5/5 rotation.

Do I wish they’d added a couple of longer cruises? Yes. But I’m happy with more 7 night choices and I hope if they sell well then they’d add a few more in.

I am thrilled about the additional 7 night cruises. We plan to take one of them.

They are getting slightly more experimental than itineraries have been recently. It is clear they are trying to figure out what their plan is for the expanding fleet.

The ports need to become a little more interesting, but honestly most of the ports are very uninteresting to me out of Florida anyways… Our kids are young so we don’t do excursions really, and most of the places don’t interest us. It’s all about the boat.

Now, as our kids get older, I envision us not sailing DCL, and doing interesting itineraries, having a proper suite, and paying less on Princess, HAL or Celebrity. I’d say Cunard but can’t imagine dressing up that much every day on vacation.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. It's better than paying full price if your set on DCL.

I remember when we used to go to WDW and we would wait for the 40% off deluxe resort discounts which brought the hotel cost down to around 300- 400 a night which was still above the market for similar hotel rooms. I got priced out of WDW after the Covid increase in room rates. I have no idea what they are charging these days.

The total price for the WBPC 2027 isnt awful but the concierge price seems really steep even for DCL (but maybe it was always that bad for PC sailings). I also agree that with two more on the schedule it will help with demand
I’ll be honest, I really don’t pay much attention to concierge prices but the longer sailings do tend to have a much wider difference between non concierge and concierge, probably because there is that much more time when guests are using concierge perks. It’s also possible that Disney is doing larger increases for concierge because they believe that that passenger base is more likely to absorb them rather than increasing other fares as much.

We too plan to do one of those new PE 7 nights and are happy that we don’t have to fly to San Juan to do something different than an Eastern or Western 7 night. It will be interesting to see how these fair and if they go well does DCL try more ports because of it

The earliest announcement date for summer cruises was earlier this year, on February 6. Other summer cruise announcement dates over the past 10 years have ranged from late February through late April of the previous year.

You are correct that a deposit for a Concierge room can't be refunded, although it can be moved. If it's moved to a non-Concierge room, it remains non-refundable. You could move it to a cruise in April 2027, then move it again after summer cruises are announced.
Thanks for the info.

I need to make full payment or move/cancel by 1/27/26. So, I guess I will move it and then move it again if I something else I would rather do.

:earsgirl: 🚢 👍

Yes that Southern Caribbean looks really great but it is unfortunately out of San Juan… We probably would have strongly considered it if it were out of FL…

I think that the longer cruises are not selling because we can't afford them anymore. I don't want to go on an 3/4/5 day because there is too much travel involved but realistically that is our price point and I think a lot of other families as well. Obviously there are a large number of people that make considerably more money than we do, but at some point even rich people say that is too much for what it is.

Agreed, we'll see what happens with those concierge fares. Even at the '25 and earlier prices you could do a lot elsewhere for the same price, both domestically and internationally. Now it's gotten so high I'm comparing it to sailing to Antarctica and that feels like the better deal.

I was wishing and hoping for September 2026 Hawaii. Like a maybe round trip from San Diego like dcl did many years ago.
