Eric,

It is $140 per person for approx 40 mins (one tank) in the water, plus a T shirt and certificate. Park admission is not required, and you get to go into Epcot after for free. It was nice because we were able to save some $$ on Park Hoppers....we hit DD for the day and we were able to grab dinner at Rose and Crown in England and watch IllumiNations after the dive with out using a day on our park hoppers.

Here is a link to some reviews I checked out before we booked....

Dive Quest Reviews

Thanks for the Info, Jill.
That's a stiff price, as the free admission to EPCOT wouldn't be of use for us: We usually buy the Fun-in-the-Sun-pass when we go to Disney, which is a special pass only available in Europe. It costs about €300 per person and grants full access to WDW including PI, all the waterparks, Disney Quest, etc for 30 days. Additionally it is also valid for the Kennedy Space Center including the bus tours and the Imax Theatre, The Ford/Edison Winterhomes, the Dali Museum and the Miami Sea Aquarium.
Nevertheless I will think about it as we will probably be at WDW on my birthday - This could be a nice gift for me :teeth:

Jill, thanks for the information. Sounds like a good idea for us. We will probably be at WDW the week of Sept. 18th, for the week. We still have to bid for our block of vacation timefor 2005, but we have never had to fight for Sept. before. We will be there the entire week except for one short excursion to Universal to ride the new Mummy returns ride. Hope you keep popping in to the thread, Denise

Hi guys,
I have been without a computer all week. I asked a certain someone to help me install a new program and transfer data from another older computer and ended up with a nice little system crash. I'm sure Eric could have figured it out on his own, but we're both such technology illiterates we had to call in a computer doctor. When he found out we were still using dial-up he insisted on taking our hard drive back to his workshop and so We just got it back yesterday.

Jill and Tim: so sorry you won't be joining us
Rosemary: I had the same problem with disappearing posts about a month ago. Never did figure out what the problem was.

Big, big party weekend coming up.......I have a small holiday social Thursday night with my prayer group, big gala party Friday evening with the local Women's Club, 2 parties on Saturday night: one at the home of one of my husband's colleagues and the next at our realtor's so we'll be hopping from one to the other. Finally, Sunday we are throwing one at a country club for all the people who refer to my husband. It will be a semi-formal type affair with live musicians etc. The good thing is that I won't have to do anything other than shmooze with people since all the work is being done by others. This is the first time we're doing something like this in Raleigh, but he's had his solo practice here for nearly 3 years now so it's high time. All I can say is that I guess my diet is shot for the rest of the year!

We had some more showings this week which is a very good thing. Friday someone called from right outside and I got caught with dishes in the sink, but other than that everything else was OK. Today we are having another open house. Maybe for Christmas Santa will get me a contract for the sale our home.
Which reminds me.....we saw "Polar Express" on IMAX in 3D with the special glasses and all. It was cheesey as all get-out, but loads of fun. If anyone has the opportunity to catch it on IMAX, please do so...you'll love it. I also saw "Finding Neverland" yesterday. Everybody says Johnny Depp may get an Oscar for his performance, but I think the kid who plays Peter has him beat by a mile (and I'm a BIG JD fan!) We're waiting for our kids to come home so we can see "Incredibles" and "National Treasure" together. That's it for now.....tons of other email to answer.

Hope that everyone has a great weekend and a good thanksgiving holiday. Keep your fingers crossed for me as this will be the first year that I am deep frying the turkey. Mike

Hi everyone! What a terrible week this has been.

First, there was a shooting in a Radio Shack, killing 2 people and the gunman & wounding one other man, in a shopping plaza only 5 minutes from where I live. Heck, it's right next to the Publix that I get my groceries from. Very scary!!!

Then, I got an email yesterday from one of sorority sisters from college. She lives in a small town just north of Tampa. Her husband is an attorney and was to meet with a client in another town on Friday afternoon. He never came home. They found his wallet & clothes on Saturday in a trash bin in another city. No one knows what's happening, and it's just so scary. She has 2 little boys (3 & 1), and she's so distraught! I can't even imagine.

Anyway, if you pray, can you please pray for my friend and her family?

Thanks tons...Amy

Amy -- Oh my gosh, it was certainly a terrible week for you. My best friend lives in St. Petersburg, too. I will have to call her tomorrow and see how close the killings were to her. What a terrible thing to happen.

I will keep your friend in my prayers and hope that things turn out to be OK somehow. Please keep us posted as to what happens.

Oh my gosh, what a day this has been!! I found out a little while in an email from my friend that her DH was found, and he's ALIVE!!

Apparently, he was kidnapped and held at knifepoint. They stripped his clothes, hit him in the back of the head, knocked him unconcious and dumped him in a field in ORLANDO. They wanted $50,000 and threatened to kill his 2 young children if he went home or told anyone.

But, he's alive and apparently doing ok. My friend was on her way to Orlando to see her DH. I'll let you all know anything else when I find out. But, I'm glad that it's over, and I'm sure that their Thanksgiving will be a happy one this year!!

Amy

Papa, I had to chuckle when you said you are frying your turkey for the first time. It brought back memories of two years ago, when we borrowed a turkey fryer from a friend. They forgot to warn us about standing back when you put the turkey in. When my DH put our cold turkey into the vat of hot oil in our driveway and POW!, my DS came running in and told me that "Dad blew up the turkey!"
I can still picture DS and DH sitting by the steel drum in their winter coats shivering, waiting for the turkey. It only took a short 30 min to an hour to cook, and it tasted great, but it sure was different than the other years of roasting the turkey all day in the oven and enjoying the aromas in the house. We'll probably fry our turkey again someday, but the first time was a fun and memorable experience. Hope you enjoy! Oh! if you do it on concrete, put something down to protect it, we still have oil stains.

Mary, looking forward to seeing you next week! Have a safe trip!

Hope all of you Dis'ers have a wonderful Thanksgiving and safe travels!
Laura

You have to slowly lower the turkey into the hot oil. I am going to cook him in the back yard so that the oil doesn't stain anything.

Have everything for my homemade pecan pies. Mike

Amy, Such good news about your friends husband. What an ordeal!
Laura loved your turkey story! Any more "good ones" out there? Please share.:jester:
Mike, I found out a few years back that Winn Dixie (local grocery store for you northern folks) make a better pecan pie then me. So while you are slaving over a hot oven, I will be on line with all the other last minute shoppers.:p Got to get an apple pie and vanilla ice cream too. Yumm!
Jeanneg, Sounds as if you have a full dance card this holiday season! Have fun. Try not to stress about the house.

Since I have to work on Thanksgiving, we have desided to drive up to Thomasville,Georgia on the Friday after to visit DH's brother and his wife and kids. They just moved there last month. We will spend the night and come home Sat.

Got to get dinner going.

Bye for now,
Avé

Amy - How totally awful for your friends. I can't imagine going through that type of stress.

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. A couple of years ago we were at camp and deep fried a turkey -- it was wonderful tasting but I think Jim spent about 3 hours cleaning the pot and there was a black ring on the ground where the grass had burned as the turkey was lowered into the pot. Amazing how quickly it cooked though.

I used to make pies but now I'm afraid I buy them. The last time we were at my SIL's for dinner she whipped up an apple pie for dessert while we getting ready to sit down to eat. My DB calls her Martha for short. :D

Take care everyone.

Fiona

Amy --How wonderful that your friend's DH is OK. What a horrible experience for him, and it is truly a miracle that he is alive. What a great Thanksgiving they will have with so much to give thanks for! (I know, never end a sentence with a preposition and I taught English for several years!)

Just popping in to say hi! and want to wish all a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Also, just making sure everyone saw the notice about the boards going down for extended time this weekend.

P.S. I have NEVER heard of deep frying a turkey before. I guess it is not a stuffed turkeyl

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!

I'm expecting all four kids to arrive home at some time today so I doubt I'll be spending too much time online other than to check flight arrivals. This is the first Thanksgiving I didn't have to stress about cleaning the house since it's ALWAYS clean nowadays! All of a sudden I'm getting some increased activity.....must be that little guy in the ground!
A safe journey to all those traveling.

Tulirose -- I guess must be blind because I can't find any notice about the boards going down this weekend. Where is this information posted? Thanks for your help.

Jeanne,
it's posted on the Community Board. It says that the Boards will be down for 24 to 48 hours and that all PMs older than 7 days will be deleted.
I hope it doesn't affect our post count, nor our entrance year: I lost about 1500 posts and a year in '99:mad:

Just checked in to see what was up ... been busy with work and feeling a little funky. I MISS MY CRUISE FAMILY!

Just got word that our agency is giving us Friday off in appreciation for all the stress we have had since we don't have a budget. The bad news is that we are still one of the offices that they are looking to close. We already lost a lot of people (I think 70 something) to early retirement ... still don't have a federal budget and the estimated budget has gotten lower and lower.
Geez, enough already, all I need is another 2 years for retirement.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
