I love those online translators:rotfl:

Peter must have punched in 'Great' which was translated 'Großer' but should have read 'Großartig'.
'Großer Tag' means 'Tall Day' :p

Perhaps some of you had the odd Korean or Japanese device, i.e. an answering machine - With one of those weird manuals, which were obviously translated by a computer:crazy:

On Monday I will have lunch with Jeff aka Silentshot, I'll tell that so many of you said 'Hi' - And I'm trying to make him join us::yes::

Hi Everyone!
Eric, Tell Jeff and Gaby they Must come on CIV.
I'm with Amy....I say "NO TO SNOW!!!!!!!"
Jeanne, How did the open house go?

We met with a builder to discuss building our house. Looks like we may be close to making a deal. We'll see.:teeth:

:bounce: HAPPY BIRTHDAY HALEY :Pinkbounc

Denine - Have you had the chocolate covered strawberries yet? They are absolutely declicious. Malley's also has chocolate covered grapes. I haven't had the courage to try those yet.

Winotracy - Your German sounds good to me. That may be because I only understand one word - NINE.

Dale,
I suspect you wanted to say 'Nein', which means 'No' ;)
BTW, I'm still waiting for your mail with your updated info ::yes::

Hey there everyone!!!

Sorry I haven't posted in quite a while, but I've been really busy. Then I spent the last few days catching up on all of your posts! (Boy! Missing just a couple of days translates to PAGES & PAGES!!!)

As many of you already know, last December was my 40th birthday. Because my "loving husband" is not good at planning, we ended up not having the birthday party I was expecting for such a milestone birthday. After he left this summer, I was talking to a few friends about how disappointed I had been. They said I should be sure to have a party this year.

So that's what I did. Yesterday, we celebrated my 40th birthday (11 months late!). (Please don't start wishing me a Happy Birthday. It's actually in December.)

My mother came into town from NJ (Mary Jo, she says Hi! She hopes things are going okay for you & Sam.)

I was surrounded by a bunch of my dearest friends--those who stood by me all through this tribulation. I only wish everyone could have made it!

I had balloons, cake, presents, they sang Happy Birthday (twice!).

I swear, I felt like it was my sweet sixteen. I even got drunk on the Banana Rum I bought in St. Thomas! Don't tell the kids--they think Mom doesn't drink :drinking:

The kids & I also spent a weekend in Springfield, IL. It looks like I may be relocating. We spent the weekend talking about the pros & cons, and I have to tell you, there seems to be more pros than cons. The housing is SOOOO much cheaper there! I could sell my 3 bedroom, 1,800 sq ft home here for about $200k-$225k. I can buy one in Springfield for about $80k. Morgan Stanley has an office there, with the potential of my position available soon. The kids are really excited about moving.

The only real con they could come up with was how far they'd be from Dad (about 4 hours as opposed to the 1 - 1 1/2 hours now). And you know? That con didn't seem to be as bad as I would have thought.

What else? I put a ton of Tom's stuff in the garage, kept the door unlocked & told him to come get it while I was away. I find it amazing how my feelings have done a complete 180 in the last few months. In September, I couldn't even think about moving his things--I was afraid of the void that would be left. By Halloween, I just couldn't WAIT for him to get out of MY house! I love having the closet & dresser space! :teeth:

I really want to thank all of you, yet again, for being here for me. I've mentioned before (and tell everyone I know), the cruise was an emotional turning point for me. I realized that we are going to be okay. A HUGE part of that is directly due to the love & support I have received from so many of you.

So now I have two years to save up. Next cruise, I'm buying a round (perhaps on "Pub Night"?) :drinking1 Again, don't tell--Mom doesn't drink!

Love, Marianne

I Think it Was The KARAOKE

Happy Up Coming 41st Birthday ...:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Happy Birthday, Haley!

And Happy Belated and/or Early Birthday Marianne.......we all knew you'd be just fine, you go, girl!

Yesterday's open house was another bust......we had some lookers but I think they were nosey neighbors or other sellers just comparision viewing. I spoke to my realtor about "staging" the house and she said definitely not. All the feedback has been very positive; it's just not been the "right" house for most buyers.
I got my second "single" St Joseph blessed at Mass today. Maybe if I bury one on each side of the house it'll double my chances. Somehow, I have a feeling this all going to work out, I just wish it would happen sooner than later! I've been trying so hard to keep everything neat and clean and avoid cooking anything with a heavy aroma. I have this feeling when the kids are all home for Thanksgiving with the shoes and coats strewn all over the foyer and the good smells are coming from the oven and you have to watch out for the Playstation wires, that's the time when someone's going to come in with no warning and they'll sense all the good vibes and make an offer. (BTW, if anyone wants to view my home online, let me know and I'll tell you how, but only through your regular email).

We are going to try to get tickets to see "Polar Express" at the IMAX 3-D threatre today. It's playing all over town, but that particular showing has been selling out consistently. We might have to opt for the midnight showing!

One phone/internet-provider in Germany went a step further in the pricewar with an unbelievable rate: Right now we pay about €40 for 2 ISDN-lines with three numbers and a DSL2048-line & another €50 for my AOL DSL-flatrate. That other provider gives us the whole package for €50 a month - with a DSL 3072-line :earseek:
Although I was very satisfied with AOL, saving 50 Bucks a month (Taking into account the upgrade to DSL 3072) is a word. That's savings of nearly €1000 til the next cruise. Considering the actual Dollar/Euro-conversion-rate this is $1300, which means our cruise is nearly paid for by switching to the new provider:hyper:

Accordingly our email-adress will change in about 6 weeks. I'll broadcast it in time.

Hi Everyone.:wave2:

Avé

Think I Might Head To Panama City Beach FL

For A Visit when will the guest room Be Finished

Congrats.. Ave:wave2:

I just discovered that the cruise is now less than 700 days away :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Mary,
so we'll invade Ecofina Creek with 4 canoes this time. Anja & I will have to work on our eskimo-roll until then:laughing:

Our tentative plan for the 2006 vacation is: 3 nights at Crystal River for some dives, a week a PCB, 10-11 nights in Orlando to do WDW, USF, IoA and SeaWorld. But with nearly two years to go, there will be ample time left for some modifications ;)

Tomorrow is another open house......let's see what happens!

Incidently, my realtor came by with the open house signs while I was digging up my front yard and I asked her if I was doing it right. When she realized exactly what I was doing, she was not pleased. I guess that's just the difference between a Southern Baptist Christian and a cynical wise-a-s-s Northern Irish Catholic.
I'm just striking out all over the place........!

Jeanne,
this is really a different culture in the USA. I was kind of shocked when I went to your realtor's website and saw that cross/fish-rotating on their site:eek: Over here nobody would put his religious affiliation on a business-site.

Wow, what a busy weekend. Glad it's over. Haley says thank you for all the birthday wishes. We had a Tinkerbell theme since that's one of her favorites right now. She got lots of toys and a bicycle that even has a seat on the back for her baby doll.

I also took her for her birthday pictures before her party since she was all dressed up.

Now I have to go and read all the posts that I missed.

Renee,
our birthday wishes have to wait til tomorrow: In Germany wishing happy birthday before the actual date is considered to bring bad luck ;)

Greetings to everyone from Jeff
They'll probably not join us as they want to make an Alaska-cruise. BTW, Jeff was told during his cruise that DCL asked several European shipyards for a price for a new ship, but with the unfavourable exchange rate DCL can't afford it right now.
