Bette & Kim

Did I miss something? What is this list for?

Congratulations or Ciara.

Dan good luck with your new job. Peter sorry to hear about your job situation.

Haley and Katie look so cute in their costumes. Since I had boys, I hope that when the time comes for grandchildren (which I hope is years away) that I can have a GD to dress up.

curlyq--- We are practically neighbors as I live in York, Pa.

One more day until the election and then at least the ads will stop. I try to watch the Baltimore stations so I can avoid the presidential ads. I have piles of mail from both candidates plus everyday I have messages on my voice mail. Enough already.

So Jeannic did you sleep in a little today?

Yesterday was warm but very windy so there are many leaves in the yard we have to work on gathering up this week.

Have a good day everyone.

Nancy

Nancy it is a birthday and anniversary list and special occasions I think.

If no one is doing the cell phone list I would be glad to take that task on.

Does anybody read my mails:sad2: ???
Nancy, I'm :scared1:
BTW, the wonderful keystone you presented us with, found a nice home in our living room ::yes::

OK, the BD & Anniversary List:
It is maintained by Bette, please go to the bottom of The List to find her adress. This list shall help everyone to remember all the cruisers' BDs and anniversaries - And it shall help me to update The List in summer '06 with all our ages - Those ages we all are afraid to think of now :teeth:

Talking about anniversaries:
I'll have my 10-year anniversary with my company on 03/01 and learned today that I will not only get $500 (Tax-free:teeth: ), but also an additional vacation day - So I'll have 32 next year :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Halloween around here is out of control.......last night we had over 350 Trick or Treaters......NOT an exaggeration because I knew exactly how much candy I had! There were more out there but we ran out of candy, turned off all the lights and hung out in the basement until the doorbell stopped ringing. We are considered "prime" Trick or treat territory and so people drive from neighboring towns to T/T in our development. The streets were lined with cars as far as could be (neibhorhood kids DON'T need to drive anywhere) and we even had a flatbed hayride that carried well over 50 kids and parked right infront of my house. I really love halloween and am happy to see the resurgence in Trick or Tricking but around here it's getting way out of hand. I wonder what it will be like next year in my new neighborhood......
Loved the photos of Haley and Katie in their costumes.....they are just too cute!!!!

Peter: that's such a bummer about your job.

Ciara: Wow, what a fabulous accomplishment!! Congrats!!!!!

I just emailed Viking to join this lovely group and I had a question? I read in a previous post that there was a kids thread. Could someone tell me how to get to it? My son 12 now but will be 14 on the cruise( how depressing is that, He'll be a teenager) is on the shy side. Last time we cruised, he went to the kids clubs a handful of times but didn't really connect with anyone and then wanted to hang with us. That's OK but I think he'd have more fun with a group his age.

Valerie,
I just sent you a mail with The List attached to it. Your DS may also want to send his info to cruisetoberkids@yahoo.com, which is maintained by Ciara, who is one of our Teen-Cruisers. There are so many nice kids his age in our group, that he will surely connect this time.
I also asked in that mail, wether your 17 friends will join The List, because in this case I would wait with an update until I get their info. If not I would do an update tomorrow night - Just let me know

To everyone:
WE CRACKED THE THREE-DIGIT-BARRIER :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc With nearly two years to go, we already are more than 100 people:eek:

The candy-industry tried to establish Halloween over here too - Unfortunately they succeeded.
It's not that I don't want the kids to have some candy, but I think Halloween is part of the Anglo-Saxon culture and has nothing to do with ours.
It is IMHO like trying to establish Xmas in a Hinduistic country or hide Easter Eggs in an Islamic country.
If I would live in the USA or in the UK, I would also have tons of candy to give away, but not over here - No way!!! Unfortunately we don't have any firearms, so we also chose the 'Duck and Cover'-Strategy ;)

Mike,
you're official Keeper of The Cellphone List. I'll mail you mine soon.
Thanks for taking over that task:wave2:

Reneé

Yes, we are. We just got back from a 2 week vacation.
DCL and WDW of course!

Ciara - congratulations on your band win. That's really exciting!

Katie and Haley both look adorable in thier costumes. Since I only have a boy I, too, will wait to see if I have a granddaughter (although a decade away at least I hope!).

Big news in our house -- I actually cooked! I made a pork roast with homemade applesauce, brocolli, and mashed potatoes for dinner last night. Jim did make a salad to go with it too so he wasn't totally out of the kitchen. I don't think he totally trusts me in the kitchen!

We raked up 11 bags of leaves yesterday and now have to wait for the rest to fall off the tree.

Congrats Eric on the extra $ and extra vacation day. Appears that there's going to be a lot of overtime here for the next little while which unfortunately I don't get paid for -- although my secretary does -- she's built up 10 extra days of vacation so far but will take the rest in $ since she won't have a chance to use any of her days in the next little while. :( She will take the time between Christmas and New Year's off though and I've told her that even if something comes up she can still take the time off.

Peter - that sounds like a really sucky situation. What happened with the meetings?

Back to work.

How does one get a copy of this list?

Sorry about the delay, Melody:(
I forgot to add your adress to the list of recipients of the mailing. I just sent a copy from my AOL-account. The next one will come from the Yahoo-account then.

Fiona,
I even set the number too low: It isn't $500, it's €500, which translates into $635 right now:teeth:

I also punched in a lot of extra-time: I did 8:25 hours yesterday. I was supposed to do half of the Amsterdam charts only and have a coworker do the rest today, but somehow my pride got me and I decided to do them all ;)
Today I was made a member of my company's Steering Comittee for the implementation of a global software platform to better synchronize processes between our headquarters and the Frankfurt Office. The needed 'experts' from each area of the company, and my director installed me as 'The Expert' for my department - I'm flattered ;) I guess it will mean some extra-work without any extra-pay in the beginning, but in the long-run my company never disappointed me. It really is great to work for an American company in Germany, because we get most of the American perks plus the German laws protecting our jobs, making them secure (Or what we call secure these days).

Eric: In a mis-spent youth I spent a lot of time 'up north' canoeing. We had this game that we called "Gunwhale Jumping". (Gunwhale is pronounced 'gunnel', rhymes with 'tunnel') The gist of the game was to start at one end of the canoe, one foot on either gunwhale, walking/shuffling along the gunwhales to the other end of the canoe. You 'jumped' when you lost your balance or at the other end of the canoe. The game was further complicated by the weight of the player because the canoe would tend to dip in to the water as weight was applied, so you'd start out with the canoe's nose out of the water which would sink as you walked along the gunwhales. Great fun. Canoes rarely turn over unless you're doing something really strange with them. :)

Hallowe'en: We had two doorbell rings. As everyone in the house was either too occupied or too lazy to answer the door nobody got any candy. The candy that was purchased for giveouts disappeared fairly early in the evening and I didn't even get a share.

Cooking: "I don't think he totally trusts me in the kitchen". Not true. I flatly declined to cook the pork roast, so the kitchen was yours. Just don't touch my crockpots, my knives, my measuring cups, my utensils, my bowls, my pots and my pans. Use your own.

Jim.

I use to Say 8 long years but 9 long years just does not have The Same Ring To it...

Well Have to go Get Medicated have 3 Children Stayying over this Evening...

Eric---Great canoe story! But, poor Anja. I'd have been feeling a little peeved too. Cracked me up about Casey and the pop.

Curlyq--- Our DS will be 13 on the cruise and he tends to like to hang with us too. Guess he's used to it since the other siblings are grown and gone with families of their own. I'm thinking he may hook up with some of the other kids if I can get him to post on the kids' thread, but if not, that's ok too.

Jeanniec--- Would like to hear your impressions of SSR when you get back. It somehow doesn't appeal to me, not sure why. Maybe when I see it in person, I'll change my mind. We've actually only stayed at OKW and HHI, as far as DVC resorts go. Usually HHI for a week every summer. Love OKW for the lower points required and the larger rooms at WDW.

Reneé--- I can't believe how the girls are growing either. Cassie's 7 1/2 months and already trying to pull up on anything that stands still long enough... me, the dog.... And if Becca says 'Gamma, I have a great idea', you'd better look out!

Jeanneg--- 350 kids for trick or treat is definitely over the top! We have a good steady stream of kids here for about the first hour, then it tapers off. Most people sit outside to pass out the candy since you'd be opening the door every few seconds. After an hour, we start handing out several pieces to each kid so we can go inside and be done with it.

Eric, I'll send you the info I forgot the first time and also the cell number to Mike.

Colleen

Please send your cellphone numbers to my yahoo account papaworrell@yahoo.com I will try to get a list out this weekend of the the numbers that I have. Mike

I would say that you're lucky to have Cassie pulling herself up at 7 1/2 months. My Brooke was WALKING at that age! She is almost 10 months now and she is giving me a run for my money!!!

Mike, I pm you with our cellphone number. If you would rather have me email you, that's ok too. Just let me know.

Betty, I also pm you about adding our clan to the birthday list.

350 trick or treaters.... WOW!!! If we get 2 we are lucky! I want to know what you guys pass out !!!:p
