Allen -- Great to hear from you again and we are quite honored that you shared your 100th post with us! Still hoping that somehow you will be able to join us next year.

So sorry to hear about all the cruisers who have changed dates. We will miss you all. :sad2: :sad1: But we hope you all have a great time on the 11 day trip. :grouphug: The desision on when to take vacation, where to go and how long to stay involves many issues. Money, kids, bosses, co-workers, pets, to name a few. And while it hurts a little, it is also very understandable. Hopefully our Cruise-paths will meet again. We are also very excited about the new cruisers we have gained, and our vets who have choosen to remain on the Oct 14th trip.

Jim, I forgot to thank you for the "race" story. :rotfl: I had been thinking it had been awhile since your last post.

Got to get the kids ready for bed, with me soon to follow. Work in the AM.

Later,
Avé

red chili peppers on black was quite stunning;

It was. And I've worn it a couple of times since that cruise.

What you have to realize is that ties, as a species, shouldn't really be given the so-called respect that they think they are due. They breed like flies if you're not careful. Oh, sure, some of them are o.k., and it'll just be like one tie for Christmas, and maybe one for Father's Day, and then the next thing you know you'll be getting one at every opportunity, in practically every conceivable colour and shape. And you'll be forced to wear them all.

I've been extremely careful with the ties that I have. All of them have different storage locations to avoid any 'accidents' (if you catch my drift) when two (or more) of them are stored in one location. This segregation plan has been extremely successful for me and I've not seen a new tie for quite some time.

The tie-ectomy process was developed to assist in the maintenance of the effective segregation plan that I've been running for quite some time.

Constant vigilance is required to monitor ties or life as we know it would be dramatically changed.

Jim.

To all of our friends that we have made during our cruises together Kathy and I want to say thanks for the memories. We have moved our reservation to the 11 day cruise on the wonder......
:guilty: :sad2: :sad2:  :sad1: :faint: :headache: :( :worried:
A Cruisetoberfest without Mike and Kathy will just not be a Cruisetoberfest in my eyes!!!!

Next to go, I predict, are Art and Cathy.

And I am so happy Bettemom and Kim are staying with us!!!!

.....Off for a three hour trip upstate. Please no more deserters when we check back tonight.

I need to say something here. And as I am not the most diplomatic person I know, I probably will ruffle a few feathers. I'm trying hard to find the best way to express how I'm feeling. Please be patient if it doesn't come out in the spirit in which it's intended.

I've been reading the posts, and I've been reading a recent List (not the MOST recent). Eric has added great information as to which Cruisetoberfest (or Cruisears) everyone has participated in.

I see many 1's and 1,2's. This tells me that there are Cruisetoberfesters that did not participate in a cruise after their initial cruise. (I'm not talking about the ones that joined a subsequent Cruisetoberfest.) So, there are those not joining us this time--so next year, their listing will show 1,2,3,5.

Within the posts, although the disappointment is understandable, or even expected...I'm hearing a tone of almost anger. (I'm guilty of it myself, so I've edited my last post.) I agree with Avé that the decision to vacation has many variables, and we need to respect when someone chooses to change his/her plans.

There's another sense that I'm getting, and I can't quite find the word to describe it. It's the words like "deserters", "won't be a Cruisetoberfest", or even "sailing with friends is more important". Does anyone else hear what I'm hearing?

Understanding that neither trip will "be the same", those that are sailing the Southern Caribbean (and any other dates) are going to have a great time! Those that are sailing 10/14 are going to have a great time! Each side will miss the other.

I've said my peace. Have a great weekend! And I hope I haven't angered anyone--that isn't my intent at all.

I just checked out the 11-day-September-thread and told them that I will send them a list containing the info of 'The Switchers' (I hope that this term is politically correct, Marianne ;) ), which they can modify according to their needs.

Amy,
I'll send it directly to Robin.

:flower3: Thank you for the above....I have been feeling very guilty. Please don't take my changing to the 11 day as personal towards any of you at all. I was really looking forward to cruising with all of you. Kim and Bette are almost like family to me, and if anything, I am deserting them as we had linked dining. But having cruised with Disney now for the last 6-7 years, and it is my only big vacation of the year, I could not pass up the new ports of call. Your right, both sailings are going to be awesome, and everyone is going to have a wonderful time on each.

Thanks! Robin

Eric,

Thank you very much for sending us the list. It will definitely help with starting a new one for our cruise. BTW - I will still lurk here every now and then - you can't get rid of me that easy! Besides, I'm going to miss all you guys. Hey I have an idea - why don't you all switch to the 11 night cruise? That way we won't be separated.

Forget it, my friend :teeth:
We never change vacation plans - except when we win free cruises :rotfl2:

Hi guys! I'm also still lurking around here. I just can't bear to unsubscribe to this thread. Besides, I want some of you to let me know when you are going to visit WDW in the future. We really are close enough that we are there about once a month anyway.

Hey Guys....been in lurking mode for quite some time...but we are staying w/the 10/14 cruise also...as Laura said, it's real hard to take the kids out of school!!

My sis & her family will be joining us so Eric we will have some additions to the "dwindling" list :badpc:

I dont think you have been on the Wonder !! ::yes::

And we still view this thread alot of good people here....

Peter

The 11 day with the new ports is certainly tempting.....we might actually look into it.....even though Sarah will be missing 9 school days it will be at the beginning of the school year which shouldn't be too horrible and even though our school district sends a letter from the magistrate when your child misses 10 days of school, I figure that since Sam isn't working yet, he could do the jail time!! We have not actually been able to take a family vacation since Sam lost his job because he has been in school continuously since last February and rumor has it that when he finishes school, he will be able to collect 6 more months of PA unemployment which would put him at August that he will still have some money coming in so he could start looking for work earnestly after this September cruise. While I will miss seeing old friends and meeting the new ones if we do decide to switch, everyone has to do what is best for themselves. Last year was a particularly bad year for us in that Sam lost his job after working at Techneglas for the last 33 years and it was like someone pulled the rug out from under him and at the age of 58 years old, he had to go back to school and re-learn things that he had in high school 44 years ago. The silver lining in all of this is that we have our health, thank God and we at least have a life now since for the last 33 years Sam has worked 7 day swing shifts....worked every shift and switched every 7 days which meant that we only had one weekend a month to do family stuff....now I admit that the 24/7 of being together was very hard to adjust to, we now are doing fine!! We are seriously considering this switch and will decide within the next few days. Mary Jo

Yipee.. I Say you all switch....

You are not alone MJ.. Eric is also thinking of it..!!! :goodvibes

and A few others .. Peter

Forgot to add that if we don't switch to the 9-17-06 cruise, we will probably switch to the 8-19-06 cruise since we have met alot of the people on that one at the Dis meet in Allentown.

Hey...Peter....we figure that after the September cruise, the job that you promised to Sam will come true!! LOL!!!

Mary Jo I have not worked since May ..Here and there very little..

hopefully soon... Peter

This is a post from "Butting Heads in Michigan" - Chris actually had me price out the difference for the 11 day cruise and wanted to "jump ship" so to speak. But with his refusal to downgrade the cabin class and my refusal to pay for the same room for 11 days, we came to the conclusion that - as long as I promise and cross my heart to take diving classes with him, he will leave me alone about the 11 day cruise. So, even though it is tempting, we are staying for the 10/14/06 cruise, but it might be our last Disney cruise for a while, while we spread our wings and try other lines Thanks to jeanniec's post) to see if we can (read me and my green look) can handle a longer time at sea. I do envy everyone switching, and maybe if we win the power ball, we can just quit and take BOTH cruises.:rotfl:
