Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Jim & Fiona-- Of course, Don is still up for the surf & turf! No more Disney tattoos as of now, but our granddaughters do think it's really neat that he has Mickey on his arm.

Bette & Kim-- So glad to see you're still with us! Josh said 'cool' when I told him there will be a 10yo boy dining with us this time. Josh will be 13 when we sail.

Eric-- If nobody else has stepped up, I will take on the cell phone list again.

Haven't posted since the whole switching thing started. I do have to admit that I'm disappointed that some people switched but can appreciate that they saw an opportunity and took it. Vacations and the decisions to take them are personal, no doubt about that but the reason we are cruising on this cruise as opposed to another one (I really, really wanted to be in WDW or on a cruise for my 40th) was because we were cruising with friends. In fact, this cruise was booked by others and all we did was put down the deposit. :goodvibes

Iterinary and timing (other than the fact that it was October) was inconsequential to the decision to cruise. It is therefore hard not to take the switching personally but I'm trying and I realize that this is my reaction not a reaction intended by anyone who has switched. There's still a year to go before either cruise so lots can still happen -- winning the lottery is still a possibility.

We are not switching for a lot of different reasons. Cruising in September is not attractive to us regardless of the length or iterinary (or cheap rates!) unless Disney was suddenly going to cruise to Alaska or the Med. We have a commitment in early September and have had for the past 14 years -- we aren't likely to give this up cause not even weddings have been enough to give this up. Fall (together with summer) for me is a very busy time at work but by October I need a break to be able to cope with the rest of the fall up to Christmas. A break in September makes the run up to Christmas too long sanity wise. :teeth:

I'm hopeful that what can really happen here is that everyone can respect the decisions people have made for whatever reason they've made it -- whether that's to cruise in September or cruise in October and leave it at that rather than there being some sort of competition between the two cruises.

Hope I haven't ruffled any feathers.

Take care everyone.

Yipee.. I Say you all switch....

You are not alone MJ.. Eric is also thinking of it..!!! :goodvibes

and A few others .. Peter

I am NOT thinking about it!!!!!!
And we'll do our best while in Boston to convince you that switching to the 11-Day was a bad move :teeth:
Just kidding: As long as everbody is happy with her/his choice everything is fine and the most important thing: We're all still friends and will always be :grouphug:

Folks,
I just sent another update: Deletion of Kathy & Mike and correction of some minor errors. After I sent it, I received another sad mail: Art & Cathy switched too :guilty: but I won't do an update before the next addition, which will hopefully be very soon.

But this means that we have more open positions:
A) We need someone to work on our logo.
B) If enough of us will stay the night before the crusie at the Radisson PC we need someon to get us a grouprebate.

Volunteers please report to me!!!!

I just did my good deed of the day: Our neighbour locked himself out of his appartment and together with two other neighbours we eventully managed to pry open his door with some makeshift tools. In the end a shishkebab-stick made of wire and bent into the right shape with my Leatherman-tool did the job. Locksmith Emergency Services here in Germany want up to €200 ($220) for that job. Unfortunately his lock didn't accept MasterCard :rotfl2: The first one who can tell me from which movie I stole this joke, will get a special gift from Germany :teacher:

OK, we call it a day now :wave2:

Very well said Fiona. My feeling also.

Here is one of our photos from our weekend in the WV hills. If you care to see more, you can visit www.picturetrail.com/wvbubba
I hope you all have had a nice weekend. I think it is hard when you have your friends coming together for an activity and then they start changing minds and moving on. Those that are "left behind" feel like they have been "dumped" by thier friends...even when some friends are still there. Even though I have never cruised with any of you, I sure do wish that everyone was going to be on the same ship, but I also understand that for some, this cruise is a repeat and therefore, the new itinerary is exciting! Just like this is exciting for us! Wishing you Wonderful nights and Magical days in September!

Eric,

I would be glad to take on the logo if needed.

Bye, Kim

Was also thinking that Mike was our skycaptain -- I'll take that on if nobody minds -- I figure if I take on this job I won't chicken out of actually going parasailing. :goodvibes

Just waiting for Jim to finish BBQ's our burgers. Did more work in the backyard and then went for a swim in the pool which was nice. Unfortunately tomorrow is Monday which might not be so nice. :rotfl:

He guys, just decloaking to say hello and wish all of you the very best for this cruise. It was not an easy decision to switch, but with both of us retired and our income somewhat reduced this was our only chance to do a longer cruise to different ports of call.

I still read this thread everyday and will miss you. Maybe I will win the lottery and be able to rejoin you after the 11 day. Take care and we only wish all of you the best. Hopefully things work out and we will be able to do another Cruisetoberfest.

Congratulations on the lock job Eric. Colleen I sent you the cell phone list as I had it. Fiona the fly in the sky list is in your hotmail account. Hugs to all. Mike
