Eric:no need to pull me into the gym.....Jenn and I will walk several miles around deck 4 and discuss FOOD!

No problem, Jeanne - as long as you walk on the right side to let us pass

And that lady from Illinois with the identity crisis will learn the difference between dips at triceps bars and dips of oreos into a glass of milk :rotfl2:

Who? Me?

Had a wonderful afternoon with Rich and Rosemary. We went to tour the Hermitage, the home and burial place of Andrew Jackson. The seventh President of the United States. It was a little warm and humid, but we made it ok.

Eric I gave Rosemary a tot bag that I had embroidered with a Hummel figure with thread made by Mettler. Each spool of thread has German made around the bottom.

Kathy talked to Art and Cathy today and they are doing OK. Mike

Mike,
if you ever need any special thread from Germany or embroidering kits, just let us know. BTW, Anja uses the Nemo-bag you made every day on her way to work to carry her lunch. But from time to time she exchanges it for one of the other two she has from you.

Talking about presidents:
Did you know that the German company Kärcher just gave the four presidents of Mount Rushmore a thorough cleaning for free? It was PR for their high pressure steam cleaning system - and the first cleaning ever for that monument.

I'm just stopping in for a few minutes to say

to our "Cruise Family" for your Kind thoughts, Prayers and Pixie Dust for my hubby Art. He is home and trying to get some rest and recoup from his surgery. It was a tough one for the first 6 days but we made it with help from above! One lesson I want to pass along is if a loved one is hospitalized and can't do for themselves, don't leave their side ... camp out with them. If something doesn't look right, do whatever it takes to get their attention to make it right. (Kim, I know you know what I mean). But THANK YOU, THANK YOU GUYS AGAIN!

Now for the real meaning of today ... Kathy with a "K" ...

Happy Birthday Kathy!!!!!!

Where can we get a list of peoples birthdays?

Arlene

Happy Birthday, Kathy! We've also been to the Hermitage and liked it very much. Actually, we will be in your neck of the woods this weekend but on a very tight schedule. "Abuelita" lives in Murfeesboro (close to Nashville) and we'll be visiting her. We're leaving at 2am tomorrow for a short family vacation with our 2 younger kids and are going to swing by TN on the return trip home.
Glad to hear that Art is doing better.
How's the eye injury, Eric?

Happy Birthday Kathy!!! Hope it's a great one!!

Good news about Art too!!

Been busy here but today is a civic holiday so no work at the office. Will be working outside in the backyard instead.

Went to the Jays game yesterday which was really fun because it was "Dog Day". You could bring your dog to the game (we didn't though) and sit in a special section. Before the game started we walked through the special area (after signing a waiver, of course) and it was really cute. They had tons of water bowls set up, an area of grass set up and even a dog sitting area. They also had a parade of all the dogs through the outfield before the game and Reed Johnson's dog Scooter caught the "first fetch ball" instead of the opening pitch. Ted Lilly's dog was there as well. They announced during the game that there were 277 dogs in attendance which helped the Jays as they won the game! We wouldn't take our dog though I don't think as she doesn't tend to get along with other dogs.

Yard work is calling so have a great Monday everyone!

Fiona

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Kathy :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :cake: :bday: :thewave:

Thanks for asking, Jeanne.
The eye is OK again. There's still a slight bruise besides the eye, bad that's it. Vision was never impaired, so I guess I was very lucky!!!!

Sometimes your British heritage comes obviously through :rotfl2: This is so funny: A baseball game for the doggies :rotfl:

Today the parties in Germany started campaigning.
As some of you may have heard, our Chancellor took a Vote of Confidenence and lost. The crazy thing: He wanted to lose and made his own people vote against him. His intention was to make new elections necessary. 10 days ago our President dissolved the Parliament and now we'll have elections on 9/18/05. Now all the parties are campaigning like hell as there are only 48 days to go. Even crazier: Some Representatives sued against this and now our Supreme Court has to decide wether this was an abuse of the Vote of Confidence. If the judges decide that it was unconstitutional, all the campaigning was in vain :confused3
