Congrats on the work anniversary Eric.

Small compensation, papa, for what you went through but better than nuthin as they say.

Fridayfun - Have a wonderful time in Chicago.

Mary - Maybe the next buyer will offer you more!!

**** QUESTION OF THE DAY!:*****
Why is that workmen are never on time!?

I have been waiting since 8 a.m. for the roofer guy to come. I called at 10 (office and cellphone) to ask what happened and at 11:15 he calls to say someone will be here at 12:30. I had plans for 12:30 but told them I would cancel it as long as someone came!

The roof was put on 15 years ago and the flat part (commercial grade they told us, will last forever they said) LEAKS!! They came and "fixed it" about 4 years ago. When I called this time, owner left message saying that "it's time for a new roof! We'll be happy to come and price one for you" Sorry buster! I got a 20 year guarantee that you gave me, Mr. Man-of-Integrity, and you need to honor it again.

Can you tell that I am a little P-O'd!!! Plus I have a splitting headache!!

Thank you all for letting me vent...

Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce myself and my family! I'm Debbie and we are all booked on this Oct. 14, 2006 7-night Disney cruise to Costa Maya. This will be our 3rd cruise! Going along are: myself, my husband, Dave, and two daughters, Rylee and Skylar who will be ages 6 & 8 at the time of this cruise. (Rylee is the older of the two). Also coming along is my mother-in-law, Terry (her 2nd Disney cruise) and my father-in-law, David (his 1st cruise ever!).

We were on the Western Carribean cruise on Jan 31st, 2004 and the Eastern Carribean cruise on Jan. 22, 2005. We LOVED Castaway Cay and so when we saw this cruise with 2 stops there, we had to book it!

It seems like such a long way off, but nonetheless, we are excited! My girls would love to talk to any kids in their age group who will be at the Oceaneers Club on this cruise! They had so much fun on the last one and even hooked up with a couple of friends they met on these DIS boards from last year! They were pen pals for several months before the cruise and it was so exciting to meet in person. They exchanged photos, emails, etc.

I will try to post a photo of our family (when I figure out how)! Meanwhile, I look forward to meeting everyone here and talking about the upcoming cruise in Oct 2006!!!! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Wecome to the group, Debbie!!! I'm not yet officially booked on this cruise, because I'm waiting to book onboard later this year. Anyway, this is a great group of people to cruise with, and I believe that there is a list of kids that are already talking. They may even have a DIS thread of their own, I'm not sure, since my DDs are too little. Also, if you want to get on Eric's list, look for one of his posts (DISname: Viking) and I think that he has the email to send your information.

Welcome Debbie and family! I spoke with you on the other thread. I forgot to mention that I have a DD Megan who will be 8 when we cruise (in addition to DD13 and DS 15 and of course, DH. Great to have you with the group!
Regards,
Laura

Welcome to the "family", Debbie. I know you're going to enjoy it here! :cool1:

Urggg - at work -- why is that male lawyers think that if they are nasty to you that you'll just roll over??? It's not someone at work but someone at another firm. What a jerk.

Fiona
Fiona--it's not the word "lawyers", believe me! It's the word "male". It's lawyers, roofers (right, Tulirose?), husbands. Tom rattled me last nite, and I'm upset with myself that I allowed it to happen. I'm going to need to be more diligent about how far I'm going to let conversations go in the future.

:hourglass Can anyone make the sand move any faster? This day (in fact, the whole week) has been moving so slowly!!!!

Mary: so sorry that the deal fell through. At least it's not because of anything to do with the house. I'll keep my fingers crossed something better comes along soon. If you still haven't gotten a contract by the time we move, I'm "disinterring" and sending you a package!
OK, I can't remember if i mentioned this or not, but i'm taking a break from all the packing and doing a girl's only mini-trip to WDW. Jen was supposed to go away for spring break with some college buddies but decided she would rather do a girls trip with just one other friend, her aunt (my sister) and me. My initial reaction was that this is the last thing in the world I have time for right now,but then I kept thinking that anytime a college junior chooses to spend spring break with her mother and her aunt, it's an opportunity that simply can't be refused. It's just a short 3-nighter but we'll be at POR French Qtr so it should be fun. And SO WHAT if I have to stay up all night packing when we get home. I couldn't let this one go because it may never happen again. It'll also be nice for my sister because she has 3 boys and it will a treat to have some female bonding. I'm flying her into Raleigh (from NY) and then we're leaving for FL early Sunday am. And when all this is over, I still hope to go to the Polynesian with my hubby to celebrate the sale of the house. Gosh, I'm starting to feel like Peter and Jen with all their Disney trips!

HEY,
one of the rare species of nice males has to file a complaint here!!!! :teeth:

Re my earlier post -- now realize that the reason he felt he could be nasty is because he obviously didn't look at the letterhead and I'm just an assistant -- not that that in any way excuses his behaviour but it does make it more understandable. I, sometimes get treated much more nicely than my assistants do (which I think is wrong) just because I have the office with the window.

Viking -- "nice male" -- this from the underwater camera threatening person??? :rotfl:

Marianne - can relate to your situation with Tom. After years of "getting along" my ex has gone to a lawyer about a child support issue. Jim will confirm that this has sent me off the deep end. It also ticked off my DS so it hasn't been pleasant. I'm just ignoring it for the moment -- afterall it's him paying the lawyer, not me and frankly the more he has to pay for his stupidity the better. This is making me feel better.

Just cause it's Friday.

Fiona

Mike ... Bummer about Kathy's friend's son - not much you can say in those situations....just be there for them.

Glad you are going to get something from the VA ... hope it's not just the money but you'll get some medical benefits too.

Mary ... Bummer about the house sale. Hey maybe the next offer will be for more money.

Eric ... Congrats on your 10 year anniversary. Boy you "germs" get more than us Americans.

Mary Ann (Zapp)

to Tom. Don't let him get you down. As my aunt always said ... Every Dog has his day!

Denise ... I feel bad for you having to take your "retired" fur partner to a new home. Hope you can at least visit once in a while.

Well ... It's Friday and date night (That's dinner and a WalMart Run for you young-uns).

Oops ... I forgot to welcome all the NEWBIE'S. I'm sure as you get to know us we'll make more sense! HeHeHE

and last but not least ... It's Friday

Fiona,
next time I will have a digital underwater camera instead of the old one. I guess after the first day at CC during Cruisetoberfest IV and the subsequent Powerpoint-presentation of my newest pics in the Walt Disney Theatre us He-men will have CC for ourselves on the second day there :rotfl2:

Cathy,
you always have to remember that I work for an AMERICAN company ;)
But you know what? Of course I had to make a little speech, and I pointed out that I feel so good to be with my company. With about 5 million people unemployed in Germany, more and more employers demanding more hours, lowering wages, cutting down on vacations, etc, one has to be grateful for being part of such a wonderful team.

Talking about the Germ.

Thanks for the link,
I was already wondering why I had such a strange itch at the back of my neck :rotfl2:
It's good to see that Hopela is still on the Boards. We spent a wonderful day at Islands of Adventure with her and her family the before Cruisetoberfest II. This reminds me that I wanted to da a mailing to all former cruisers informing them about #4. Will do that this weekend.
We both have the weekend off. Tomorrow we will do some shopping in Downtown Frankfurt, then we're going to visit Gramps in the hospital. He was admitted to the neurological ward last Wednesday after fainting in his daughter's house. So far the docs a CT, an MRT, and ECG, and some more test - and came up with zip. We hope that he will be able to return home soon.
BTW, did I mention, that we will attend his BIL's (Granny's brother) Diamond Wedding Anniversy? He & his wife will be married 60 years on 04/02/05 - and it is his second marriage!!! He will be 95 in October, his DW is 'only' 85 - he always says that she is keeping him young :rotfl: He still drives his own car, but went from a BMW 740i down to a BMW 330i some years ago, and he refrains from driving in the dark. He swims half a mile every day, walks his doggie, etc - This guy is unbelievable!!

Congratulations to your family Eric. I hope that everyone has a great weekend. Have our fingers crossed for your home sale Mary. Cathy I LOVE the fat guy dancing.

There was a tragedy in a Tennessee county this week. A fourteen year old boy shot and killed his school bus driver. Her burial will be on Sunday.

Mike

Heard about that shooting papa. Very sad.

Also heard about three priests from Tennessee (No. This is not a joke) who received some sort of award or official recognition for helping in the rescue of a young boy from going over a waterfall somewhere in, I believe, Washington state. The priests (two of which were siblings) were hiking and passed a family of mom, dad, son and young daughter. The daughter was in a back carrier on the dad. The priests passed the family on the trail and then came to an area to rest and have a snack when they heard the boy scream. The boy had fallen into the water and the father -- with the baby girl still on him -- jumped in after him. The three priests formed a chain to assist the father in getting the boy and dad himself back to shore. They were only 20 feet or so from the falls!

The priests do not know how they came about to be recognized for this act because they didn't tell too many people about it.

Too often we hear bad news and not any good news.

Welcome pianogirl to Cruistoberfest, from the Tuli's of New York.

That's EXACTLY how I have been feeling and I tried to change my tactics last night and ended up being redundant of things already posted. Oh Well. :confused3

At least we are keeping up somewhat with reading the thread but it is good to check in now and again with a posting or two, otherwise we may get forgotten. I can think of a few forgotten cruisers right now -- DAN!!!
