Bad news, Mary. Not everybody gets along with his ex-wife as good as me ;) We keep our fingers crossed for you :grouphug:
No new snow over here either, but it's still :cold: :cold: :cold:

Today I had my big day at the office: It was my 10th anniversary with the company. We had a little meeting at my cubicle. I was awarded with a certificate, a nice pin with two small diamonds on it, an extra vacation day, and I will get €500 (Taxfree!!!) with the next paycheck. Additionally there will be a lunch with my manager and a breakfast with our CEO :teeth: Not to forget a crate with a selection of wine & champagne.
Next Thursday I will bring cake & pastries for about 60 of my closest coworkers.

Congratulations Eric! :cheer2:

Mary, sorry to hear the deal fell through. Here's to hoping you get another offer real soon!

Tracy

Gee in my company for 10 years you get 1 extra week vacation per year,a small token gift, lunch with some coworkers and an extra kick in the butt. Can I come work for your company??? Next year I celebrate my 20th year with my company and I'll get another extra week vacation(total of 25 days). Plus we can also buy a week every year.

Arlene,
that extra vacation day is a one-time bonus, next year I will have to cope with 31 days again

All together with vacation time/vacation bought time and PTO days I get a total of 34 days off per year. Next year I will have a total of 39 days off. At this point Andy gets no paid time off - he has to look into his benefit package to see what he is entitled to now that he is an employee not an independent contractor...

It's better. But I'm still going to play with it.
I have to enlarge my picture when I get home.

Thanks, Peter for the info. I gotta tell you, tho. I don't see me doing the "Dancin' Queen" thing.

Gee, Mary, I don't know. Living next door to your ex? Tom wouldn't be there long, I'm sure of that. :goodvibes

Sorry that the deal fell through, but there will be others.

Eric--Congrats on 10 years. Here, we get an extra week vacation (which brings us to 4 weeks) and $175 Tiffany & Co. gift certificate. Good luck finding anything for $175--unless you want a silver baby spoon. Luckily, we DON'T have to go to lunch with the manager. :crazy2:

Mike--Congrats to you on the extra VA Benes. You guys that fought VietNam got such a raw deal.

Regardless of how people felt about the "police action", the military men & women following the orders still need to be honored for doing their duty. I think the best SuperBowl commercial was Anheuser-Busch's honoring the soldiers going thru the airport & all the civilians stand up & applaud. :cheer2:

Well, we finally got some sunshine here. But the temps are very cold. Last week, we had nice 40's degrees, but the skies were overcast.

I went with Heidi to her "Honor Roll Breakfast".  :teacher:
She made Honor Roll 2nd quarter (3.0 GPA or better), and High Honor Roll 1st quarter (3.5 GPA or better). She's on target for High again for 3rd quarter. It's nice that the school honors the kids' academic achievements. You always hear about how they honor the athletes.

And I got to load up on my carbs, too! :earboy2:
Bagels, muffins, pastries--YUM! They put the fruit at the end of the table, and it was all gone when I got to it. Oh Darn!!!

Martha Stewart gets out tomorrow!!!! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Funny, she didn't call me to come clean my house. What's up with that???

That's because she's going to be at my house cleaning! :rotfl:

Baseball starts in a little over a month. :goodvibes

A blonde went to an appliance store sale and found a bargain. "I would like to buy this TV," she told the salesman.

"Sorry, we don't sell to blondes," he replied.

She hurried home and dyed her hair, then came back and again told the salesman, "I would like to buy this TV."

"Sorry, we don't sell to blondes," he replied.

"Darn, he recognized me," she thought.

She went for a complete disguise this time: a brown curly wig, big baggy clothes, and big sunglasses. Then she waited a few days before she approached the salesman again and said, "I would like to buy this TV."

"Sorry, we don't sell to blondes," he replied.

Frustrated, she exclaimed, "How do you know I'm a blonde?"

"Because that's a microwave," he replied.

......Any one watch Amazing Race last night. I really enjoyed Rob and Amber and found it amuzing how the other teams wanted to eliminate them. The 2 top teams were obsessed with that. They need to worry more about themselves at the beginning of the race and less about what Amber and Rob are doing. Rob and Amber looked really relaxed and just enjoy being there. I did not like the team that finished 1st they were so annoying. Nancy

......The packing is starting to get to me......I dozed off during Amazing Race! I woke up in time for the ending, so at least I know who came in where. None of the couples seem incredibly interesting at this point.

I never really watched the AR before but did the other night, basically because of R&A and also a coworker kept telling me I would like it and I know you guys watch it too. I really really enjoyed the show. I thought most of the couples were hysterical. I was kinda surprised seeing them help each other, however, so that was kinda nice. However, the first place team screwed the POW & BeautyQueen by telling them to dig in the first sandpile when the other sandpile had an earlier flight. I was worried they wouldn't make it but, still, I was disappointed to see the two friends go who were eliminated. I thought they would be fun to watch more.

I'm also enjoying Survivor this season... so far. I always get annoyed at them sometime during the season and swear I'll never watch another Survivor... but then I do anyway.....

Saw the Amazing Race....... I was actually sorry at who lost because I thought that they could have been an interesting team......
Oh! I just said the same thing before reading your post! Great minds think alike!! :goodvibes

I actually like rob/amber also even though I initially didnt like the idea of them being on the show. The other teams are really being mean/snotty to them.I wonder if CBS asked Rob/Amber to be on the show to bring more viewership to the Amazing Race. I also liked the team eliminated..they definetely gave me a few laughs. The older couple is okay although I dont see them winning. The mother/son team could be real annoying and they need to go because of how mean they are to Rob/Amber.Arlene
Okay, I thought I would be smart and start responding when I see a post that I wanna respond to before reading on any further because too often I read and read and read and then I don't post ANYTHING!!! However, I don't think my plan is working out too good because I am basically saying things that you guys already said before I even know you said it. My post does confirms your theory of having R&A on the show for more viewership because I really don't think I would have watched it otherwise.

Now, big decision ahead of me... do I impulse reply from here on in when something strikes my fancy and run the risk of being repetitive, or do I keep reading and end up not replying to anything???? Decisions, decisions.....

BTW - The new puppy just spent the last 3-4 minutes trying to catch that darn tail of his! He is so funny!!!

We have sunshine, too, but still temps below 0°C/32°F :cold:
Congratulations to Heidi on her academic achievements :cheer2: must be her German genes breaking through :rotfl:

I share your opinion about your soldiers: Wether Nam (or Iraq) were right or not, one has to honor their sacrifice.

Watched Survivor last night and was sorry that they voted off Jeff instead of Kim. She seems useless since she doesn't even help in the challenges which I thought were interesting.

Also watched Apprentice and was hoping that John would be fired. If he wins Trump is an idiot cause I couldn't put up with that attitude of his for long.

It's supposed to be sunny here today but below 0C yet again.

Good morning everyone from Not So Sunny Florida!! It has been cold and wet here in the Sunshine State!!

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, but I have been reading everyone's posts. I never realized how much busier I would be with 2 children, compared to just 1. But, we're doing well. Madison is 10 months old now and standing on her own. I'm sure she'll be walking before we know it (which is not necessarily a good thing). As it is, she crawls everywhere and gets into everything.

Well, I'm off again. Have to get Madison up and fed and Emily ready for preschool. Have a great weekend everyone, and stay warm.

At least there seems to be some justice :teeth:

Great weekend to everyone from cold Germany :wave2:

Got another anniversary gift today: A nice 2feet-palmtree in a pot from our works council :flower:

Hi! Just thought I'd drop in and say hello and that I am glad it seems everyone is starting to feel better. Chris had the flu/cold and was out 2 days and is finally better for our Chicago mini-trip!

Mike - I have to say congrats on the benefits! My dad has a lot of - what they called "small, workable" ailments from his time in the Korean war. He has terrible hands, can't hear (a thing he uses to his advantage ;) ), and has had numerous eye surgeries from wounds and injuries. He finally has a good (if there is such a thing in the VA system in Dallas) Dr. who got him his hearing aids (10%) and wants him to get his hands checked. Dad doesn't really care about the hands, but he said if they say it is service related, mom will get to keep his benefits down the line, and that is all he cares about. The VA hospital in Dallas is just miserable.

My K-9 partner officially retired yesterday :sad2: Good for her health and happiness, but when I take her to her new family Wednesday, I know I am going to fall apart. I am getting misty eyed thinking about it now.

Well, off to the salon, then dropping the furbabies off at the pet resort (private room, own air system, and a TV playing animal planet and movies we want to bring! ), then tomorrow - CHICAGO! :cool1: Have a wonderful weekend and I think it is a perfect weekend to sell a house! :sunny: Denise

Have a great weekend Denise. I think I'd like to go the dog house with your furries!

Urggg - at work -- why is that male lawyers think that if they are nasty to you that you'll just roll over??? It's not someone at work but someone at another firm. What a jerk.
