:wave2: Just returned from 10/11!!

What an unbelievable sight!! I couldn't believe how beautiful the ship was. This was our 1st DC!! DH 36, ME 35, DD's 9 & 7, grandparents (my parents) 67.

Checking in was a breaze. My hands were shaking so much while at the counter during check in. I guess it was because I was so excited. When we were allowed to board it was MAGICAL. Walking onto the Magic was a dream come true. The Atrium took my breath away.

We sent my dad to Palo for ressies. Then we went to register the girls in the clubs. Which to my understanding was 9 in the lab, 7 in the club (I will get back to that later).

Then to Topsiders........what a great feast and the service was wonderful!

After dinner (PLAPLAP 6PM) we took the girls to their respective areas. Well, DH took the 9 yr old and the counselors asked where the 7 yr old was. They expected us to put the 7 yr old with her sister. I was happy!! The club is geared for little kids. My 7 yr old would have been really bored in there. So it was a wonderful surprise for us to have both in the LAB!!

Key West was hot and beautiful!! We walked around for about two hours and then went back to explore the ship.

Grand Cayman we did the DCL excursion Stingray City. It was great. I have to admit that I was a little freaked out by the stingray touching me, but I adjusted well. DD's rode on our backs most of the time.

Cozumel was the Playa Del Sol beach break. We were treated like royality there! It was a great time. The beach was nice, the staff was friendly and the kids loved the pool.

FOOD was great on the ship. My dd ate so many chicken fingers that she doesn't want them for months! :)

One thing that did bother me was how rude a family was that sat next to us at dinner. We had the same servers. They wouldn't show up for dinner until 6:45 - 7 every night. That was very inconsiderate. One evening they were still sitting there when they opened the doors for the 8:30 seating!!

We had wonderful servers, Plamen & Lisa. They were great.

I wasn't that thrilled the Hercules show. I loved the Disney Dream show. They had great shows in Rock 'n Bar D for families.

We didn't do too much in the evening. We loved the chairs on deck 4!!

We had a Cat 11 stateroom. It was great for three people. The rooms were very nice. My parents were across the hall in a cat 6 with verandah. I have to admit.....i loved my inside room. I could sleep anytime of the day, it was always dark.

I would highly recommend a fan or something else to drowned our the hallway noise. But, really the noise wasn't that bad!!

Thanks you to everyone who answered my questions. It really helped make my trip a MAGICAL one!!

Oh BTW.......pictures at shutters will cost almost as much as the cruise ::yes:: The pictures all turn out so well, it is hard NOT to buy them!!

Can't wait for the next cruise!

Hope

Hope,

Thanks so much for the report. I have been waiting for someone to post their trip since the Magic came out of dry dock.

Sounds like you had a great time!

Deb

Great report! Thanks for sharing and I so happy you had an awesome time! It's hard to wait for my own, so reading your report helps!

Hope....Thaks for the report, Been waiting for someone from the 10/11 to post. I asked on another thread and since you mentioned it here. Who does Disney use for the Sting Ray excursion.

Glad you had a great time and now I will ask the you the big question? When did you rebook for? LOL

Joanna

Glad to hear your cruise went great!

Did they change the ages in the kids clubs? We will be going with a just turned 8 yr old and a soon to be 8 year old (4 months short) and 2 - 5 year olds. We thought they would all be together? The older ones would probably like to be in the older group if possible (we were hoping to put the 8yr old with the younger group to be with friends and sister) - don't know if their sisters will like not being with them though...

The groups are split like this 3 - 4, 5 - 7 in the Clubs. Then 8 & 9 10 - 12 in the lab. I don't think the 8 yr olds would like the club. It is geared for young children.

I really don't know who ran the charter for the Stingray City with DCL. All I remember is the name of the boat, Emerald Isle. It was a good trip.

No, I haven't rebooked yet. I am hoping to go again in 2005. I couldn't talk DH into rebooking while on board. That extra $1000 to hold our room was a little too much right now.

Hope

How close to eight was your seven year old? My younger son will be 7.5 on our cruise and I did think he would enjoy being with his older brother, too. Thought they HAD to be within just a few days of the older age to move up in the clubs.

Carla

She won't be 8 until July!!! She is no where near being 8. I thought the same thing that is why I never even thought of asking. You should put son in the older one. The lab is really geared for little kids!

Hope

Just want to let you know, my 6 1/2 was very bored in the club and they allowed her to be put in the lab with her friend who was also 6 and a 1/2. We never wound up putting them there as they stayed with us most of the cruise.

Joanna

We had Plamen as our asst server on the Magic last October!!!! he was great!!!

Plamen was our head server! He has moved up. He was great. But the poor man was having a hard time because of the family that would come in 45 - 60 minutes late every night!

Our assistant server was Lisa Dick from Scotland. She was wonderful!

My seven year old, who turned eight on the boat, loved being in the club. She found lots of things she liked doing and never complained. They had detective school, so you want to be a pirate, made a picture frame, drew animation, danced at studio sea, played on the computer and on and on. Even though her older brothers were in the lab, I did not feel comfortable about her hanging around a bunch of 11 and 12 year olds. I would be afraid that she would be constantly pushed out of the way by older kids, among other things. And I know her brothers were happy to be in their separate groups too. 6 and 7 year olds are little kids, especially compared to a 12 year old.

12 yr olds are in the 10-12 age group

8 & 9 yr olds go together in the lab

3&4 yr olds and 5-7 yr olds.

We bought almost every picture they took of the both of us, since we don't have many photos with both of us. Usually, it's just one of the either of us or no one at all just scenery. LOL!

Tina :)

can you tell me more about this excursion?. I heard there is a petting zoo and a water trampoline. Also what is the lunch buffet like that is included. How hard is it to get the drinks that are all inclusive while there.? [if i am correct about that one] was there shopping to be done there? What about waverunner rental? Thanks, we are booking a western and are really like the sound of this excursion.

We were treated like royality!! When we arrived we walked down a little street full of vendors trying to sell us EVERYTHING. When we arrived at the beach, just a short walk. We were escorted to a roped off area for Disney guest only. The floats tubes were all included in our price. The trampoline is a long way out. The kids loved it. They didn't play on it much though. The pool area is where you get the drinks. Just make sure you find the side that deals with Disney then yours are FREE. The pool was really nice. The buffet was okay.........lots of food. The employees there really are trying hard for tips. We forgot to bring singles with us. There are tip jars EVERYWHERE! It was really nice. We really enjoyed it. Hope that helps. If you have any more questions please ask!

Hope

Did you get to check out the newer areas? How were they? Which CMs are still onboard? We've heard about Ellen and SheShe! Did you play Bingo? Who was the entertainment in Rockin' Bar D?
