1 Million Bucks... 1 charity only.....

This is a cool thread!!! I'd give the 2nd million to Planned Parenthood.

An food bank organization (Feed America, for instance).

Second million would be Covenant House.

Since there are so many virtual millions going to cancer research (cancer killed my dad) I'll go for the motor neurone disease association (MND killed my mum). It's a truly hideous disease which destroys the body but leaves the mind intact so you know exactly what is happening to you. When my mum died the only movement she had left was a tiny flicker in one thumb so she could signal yes (thumb up) or no (thumb down). Evil evil evil.

That's an easy one for me. It would be The International Society for Mannosidosis and Related Storage Diseases (ISMRD). http://www.mannosidosis.org/ This is an organization started by parents of children with these diseases. Because they are orphan diseases, they get very little if any public funding.

My youngest daughter was diagnosed Sept 11, 2001 and I would like nothing more than to know that no other child and family will have to go through what we have.

Since my dd has a repaired heart defect we would most certainly donate money somehow to a charity in that way.

I might find the surgeon, the cardiologist, or the hospital charities that help families out.

It would take a little research.

(dd is a shriner's kid)

So is mine.

my husband is a Shriner and I have seen the good they do!!!:thumbsup2

Tell him Thank you! I didn't even know most of the work they did until my DD was referred there.

My DD has been going to the one in Chicago for over 10 years now. They are WONDERFUL!

We go to the one in Chicago too. LOVE them!!! My DD actually loves to go there & looks forward to her appointments. Might have something to do with getting to skip school though too on those days. :rotfl:

I would give my million to the ALS Foundation, my MIL passed away several years ago after living with ALS for several years. I wish they could find a cure for that horrible, debilitating disease.

The Special Olympics. They are near and dear to my heart. Specifically I would give the money to my counties program so they'd never have to worry about funding again.
