1 Million Bucks... 1 charity only.....

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, a rescue organization for big cats located in the Arkansas Ozarks, would be my first choice. A close second would be a pet shelter in the same area. They often have a tough time getting funds while those close to me seem to have plenty of benefactors.

CureSearch - The National Childhood Cancer Foundation. I will fight until the day I die so that we get awareness and a cure.

Exactly what I was going to say...Pediatric Childhood Cancer seems to be the forgotten cancer. :sad1:

::yes::
Of the 7 children that die every day from pediatric cancer, on Friday I knew 4 of them. :sad2:
It really angers me that I didn't see one gold ribbon outside of school (I and several classmates have/had cancer) during the whole month of September, yet it's 11 days into October and I've been bombarded with pink ribbons. Don't get me wrong, I hate all cancers, but why are the children pushed away into the corner when it comes to awareness? The ACS is a great foundation, but they do very little for CC. We need a cure!

Susan B Komen Breast Cancer organization, also any organization that gives FREE Mamograms to women 40 and Over!:thumbsup2 OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARNESS MONTH.....GET YOUR MAMO'S LADIES...I DID!:thumbsup2

Saving babies and children. Trying to make their lives happier.

St. Judes Children's Hospital

If I had a second million, it would be Make A Wish.

The Make a Wish Foundation is my charity of choice, so I would give to them. :goodvibes

Muscular Dystrophy Association

and then Shriner's Hospital for how they help MD kids...

American Red Cross...split between local disaster relief (home fores, etc.) and national disaster relief

It hasn't made the news much, but there have been many disasters all over the country in the last few weeks, and those people still need shelter, food and other assistance. If it doesn't make it into the news, no one knows that there are still people out there who need help!

B+...LiveLikeAndrew.org

A great Delaware Valley organizations that honors Andrew by helping children and families with pediatric cancer. Just lost my niece to this a month ago and they were a Godsend to the family.

We go to the one in Chicago too. LOVE them!!! My DD actually loves to go there & looks forward to her appointments. Might have something to do with getting to skip school though too on those days. :rotfl:

It's SO much nicer since the major remodel! DD had surgery there quite a few years ago to have her hamstrings and adductors released. We're going in for a check up in a few weeks and I have a feeling that they're going to say that we can't put off having her hips reconstructed. :sad1: Because she doesn't weight bare much (she's in a stander for an hour or so every day but that's about it), the bones aren't forming correctly so her hips have been sublexing for a number of years. Just from the feel of them when I change her diaper, they feel different. I'm afraid that they've finally dislocated and that she'll need to have bone grafts done to reconstruct the socket so that the ball of her femur is covered and stays in.

We've see Dr. Smith for ortho, Dr Silver and Dr Larsen for neurology and have seen the genetics team as well. I LOVE Lori, our social worker and the PT/OT staff is great as well!

St. Jude Children's Hospital..:lovestruc

I would find an organization that provides services DIRECTLY to families with kids or adults with autism, such as Easter Seals.

I'd start my own animal rescue organization. It would make me the happiest person in the entire world to be able to do that.
